Jackpot Deuces Progressive

Video Poker is one of the most underrated and perhaps least understood games for new players to the world of online casinos. Many players assume that this is a game which offers the casino a very high house edge, but in actual fact, alongside blackjack, Video Poker is arguably the most player friendly game you can play in a casino.

When you consider the low house edge and the fact that there is a big progressive jackpot to play for, not to mention that four extra cards in the pack will be designated as 'wild' cards (thus able to substitute for any other cards in the pack), then you have the recipe for one of the best video poker games you can play; Jackpot Deuces.

Developed by the Microgaming team, this video poker game is one of the few available that offers users a chance to win a progressive jackpot when playing, although there are certain criteria that need to be met in order to win the big progressive fund.

Let's first begin by explaining a little about how the game works and what makes Jackpot Deuces one of the best versions of video poker available to play.

First of all you need to decide how much you are betting on the game. This is a simple choice as you can bet between 1.00 and 5.00 in increments of 1.00. However, if you want to have a chance of claiming the progressive jackpot, then you are going to need to bet the maximum amount of 5.00 on the hand.

Once you have decided the size of the stake you wish to bet, you can then deal the cards by clicking the button. You will now be dealt five cards face up. The aim of the game is to make the best poker hand possible from those cards.

However, don't worry if you haven't been dealt a winning hand in your first five cards. Once you have reviewed the hand, you have the option of holding or discarding any or all of the five cards in your hand. This is done by indicating which cards you wish to hold (the software will usually automatically hold any top cards, or if you have already been dealt a winning hand it will also hold these cards too). You are free to select or deselect any cards to hold.

Once you are happy with the cards you wish to keep, the cards you wish to discard are removed from your hand and replaced with fresh cards from the pack. You then have a look at what the new cards have done to your hand. If your hand qualifies as a winning hand, then you win (more on that later) however if your cards don't amount to a winning hand, then you lose the bet.

That is how Video Poker works generally but with Jackpot Deuces there are a couple of changes to the game.

The first is that if you are dealt any "2" value card then this acts as a Wild card, substituting for any other card to help create a winning payline. This increases your chances of landing a winning payline as on each hand you effectively have four additional cards in the pack that will help you win.

That is a big advantage to the player, so to mitigate this and keep the game profitable, Microgaming decided that the lowest qualifying hand for a payout is three of a kind. This means any hands of two pairs, or a pair of cards or less, is a loser.

Hitting three of a kind earns you a payout equal to your initial bet, but once you start getting hand better than this, such as a straight or flush, your payout doubles and then as you increase the quality of your hand, the payout increases rapidly. The top prizes are a base game jackpot of 4,000 credits if you manage to land a royal flush of cards of the suit clubs, spades or hearts.

However, if you manage to land a royal flush using the diamond suit, then you would win the progressive jackpot. This is reset when won back to 5,000 credits but can increase to considerably more over the course of time, thus landing a diamond royal flush is the main aim of the game.

However, it is important to note that you can only win the progressive jackpot if you bet the full five coins on the bet. Land a diamond royal flush with 1, 2, 3 or 4 coin bets and you'll win 300, 600, 900 or 1,200 coins, but not the big progressive.

Jackpot Deuces is a hugely enjoyable version of video poker that gives players enough wins to keep them playing at the game. The addition of a progressive jackpot gives this popular casino game an even greater appeal both to video poker enthusiasts and progressive jackpot hunters alike.
