2020 new game releases: Great titles from Microgaming in April!
Microgaming dazzled ICE London 2020 by showcasing some brand-new progressive games they have planned for release this year. That wasn't all, though. Microgaming plans to release more than 100 new titles before the calendar runs out on 2020.
The good news is that a fair number of them are scheduled for launch in April. If you are a Microgaming fan, fasten your seat belt and pull it tight. You're in for a great ride.
Some 100 original titles and 240 partner games are on the schedule for this year. For April, fans can expect at least 10 different games from Microgaming and its independent studio partners. All are video slots.
Anderthals slot
April 7 was the release date for Anderthals, a 40 pay line video slot featuring Andy and Annie Anderthal. They are your consummate marine isotope couple - what with their humble cave home and T-Rex transportation system. All they want is to live a peaceful life with all of the luxurious trappings the Neanderthal era offers.
Anderthals is a colourful and lively slot game with a ton of random features just waiting to be triggered. Players will experience free spins, expanding wilds, multipliers, and re-spin opportunities. The maximum pay out here is 2,219x - an odd number, but we will go with it, nonetheless.
Early release videos of this slot show it offers cartoon-style graphics and an interesting soundtrack. It should be entertaining and aesthetically pleasing thanks to its visual elements. We suspect the quick pace of Anderthals is likely to create a lot of fans too. This is one game that requires you to sit down and hold on tightly.
Arena of Gold slot
Microgaming and All41 Studios have teamed up to create Arena of Gold, a game themed around the ancient Roman Empire. This one comes out on 21 April. Players daring to take the adventure will enjoy a 25 pay line game with what Microgaming describes as "powerful gameplay mechanics." We are not quite sure what that means, but those of us who enjoy Microgaming games will find out soon enough.
Arena of Gold offers free spins, merged reels, and a Golden Re-Spins feature which, we suspect, allows re-spinning on a standard spin if you land a certain number of special symbols. Re-spins are essentially free spins that are not otherwise part of a designated bonus game.
Diamond Force slot
Look for Diamond Force for release on April 14. This game comes to you compliments of Microgaming's partnership with Crazy Tooth Studio, marking it the third game from this studio in 2020. Crazy Tooth is also the driving force behind Seven 7s and The Incredible Balloon Machine.
As for Diamond Force, you are looking at a 5-reel game with 1024 winning ways. Bonus features include a Team-Up Feature and Team-Up Bonus Spins. We suspect the latter is a free spins bonus game that may include multipliers or special symbols. However, we will not know for sure until Diamond Force is released.
The Vault slot
If you appreciate video slots themed around diamond jewellery and record-breaking heists, The Vault might just be your cup of tea. This Snowborn Games title introduces you to a slick jewellery thief in pursuit of the gem of her dreams. She has only one thing on her mind: a big heist.
You get to ride along in a game that features stunning 3D graphics and well-crafted artwork that plays into the story quite well. There actually is a very good story here if you pay attention. A dynamic soundtrack brings it to life in a rather entertaining way.
As far as game-play goes, The Vault offers 5 reels and 20 pay lines with a host of extra features. You get expanding wilds, re-spins, and a free spins bonus game as well. It is all put together in a slick package that is more than worthy of the Microgaming name. The Vault comes out on April 28.
Other games for April
The four games previewed in this post only scratch the surface of Microgaming's April offerings. A press release announcing the April titles listed an additional seven games for the month. These are:
- 1 April - Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1X2gaming)
- 2 April - Cheeky Fruits 5 (Gamevy)
- 2 April - Arabian Spins (Booming Games)
- 9 April - Hot Cross Bunnies Game Changer (Realistic Games)
- 23 April - Spinosaurus (Booming Games)
- 27 April - La Mina de Oro Plus (MGA)
- 30 April - Psycho Candies (Gamevy)
Some of these titles look especially intriguing, particularly the Hot Cross Bunnies game from Realistic Games. If you are familiar with this particular studio, you know that Realistic Games titles tend to hearken back to days gone by. It will be interesting to see what they do with this one.
At any rate, check for these new titles at any of your favourite casinos that feature Microgaming games. It is a safe bet (no pun intended) that you are going to like at least some of them, if not all of them. Microgaming has a reputation for working with their independent studio partners to come up with some pretty fascinating video slots.
More about Microgaming
Microgaming is a gaming software developer located on the Isle of Man. The company first burst onto the gambling scene in 1994 when they released the industry's first online casino software. That was 26 years ago. Since that time, Microgaming has been a consistent leader in developing new technologies and tools to facilitate online gambling.
They were the first company to introduce a mobile casino software platform in 2004. They have also been instrumental in developing the progressive jackpot concept. In fact, Microgaming's progressive jackpot network is now the largest in the world. That network has already paid out in excess of €1 billion. Their popular Mega Moolah game holds the Guinness World Record for "largest jackpot pay out in an online slot machine" at €17,879.645.12 (£13,213,838.68 won by Jon Heywood on 06/10/2015).
Progressive jackpots aside, what makes Microgaming such a great game developer is its commitment to its independent studios. There are some developers who maintain a stranglehold on what they do. They do not promote independent studios because they don't want the competition. Microgaming has no such qualms. They embrace independent studios and everything such partners bring to the table.
In addition to great video slots and progressive jackpot games, Microgaming and its partners are active in poker games, bingo, sports book, and live dealer games. They are also involved in land-based gambling as well. Microgaming essentially covers the entire spectrum of gambling opportunities through worldwide operations.
Have fun, but gamble responsibly
April looks like it is shaping up to be an excellent month for Microgaming and its independent studio partners. With no fewer than 10 new titles slated for release this month, there are plenty of excellent games waiting to be played by Microgaming fans. If you are one such fan, enjoy yourself. You have a lot to look forward to and you can sign up to any of the Mega Moolah casinos to play these games.
We encourage you to remember to gamble responsibly even as you try out these new games. Remember these simple tips for keeping things under control:
- Set a loss limit,
- Set a time limit,
- Do not gamble money you cannot afford to lose,
- Do not gamble money you need to pay your bills, and
- Do not gamble as a means of making money.
When all is said and done, remember that gambling is for entertainment purposes only. Microgaming has stepped up to entertain you with a bunch of new titles for April. So have at it. Introduce yourself to that new Neanderthal couple in the neighbourhood before embarking on your trip to the Roman Empire. Then go in search of precious diamonds with the heroes of Diamond Force or The Vault's intrepid jewel thief. It's all good.
