Casino Rewards winners: September 2020

Back in August, we saw a drop off from over 44 winners in July down to 36 winners in August, but in September 2020, the number of big money winners on the Casino Rewards has held steady at 36 winners once again, still averaging over one big money winner per day throughout the month.

However, just as August saw a drop off in the size of some of the individual prize winners, September also recorded another drop in the highest win, dropping down from over 78,000 in August to just over 56,000 in September. There were no jackpot prizes of over that amount across the month, although there was a relatively high number of prizes awarded over the 20,000 mark.

What this means is that while September 2020 wasn't a huge month in terms of individual jackpot winners, we still recorded a good number of winners and the amounts won by these players were more evenly spread across the board. The Mega Moolah network had a particularly strong month with a number of Major jackpot prizes being won by players on the network (as well as two Mega jackpot wins by players not on it).

What will please Casino Rewards owners will be the fact that the single biggest cash prize won in September 2020 came on their exclusive Mega Moolah-linked progressive jackpot slot game, Mega Vault Millionaire. Together with Atlantean Treasures and the original Mega Moolah slot, the games were responsible for 16 of the 36 wins this past month, which is a significant percentage.

Let's now take a look at some of the headline facts and figures from what was a rather untypical September in terms of Casino Rewards winners.

Casino Rewards progressive payouts - September 2020

• There were two Mega Moolah Mega jackpot winners in September 2020, one player landing a prize of just over 4 million in Canadian Dollars on the 6^th, and a player landing a prize of just over 3 million in New Zealand dollars on the 19^th, although neither of these winners landed their prize on the network. That means by the end of September, the Mega Moolah top jackpot had been won 7 times in 2020 in total.
• September saw the same number of winners as August 2020 with 36 winners, meaning it lands bang in the middle of the table compared to other months. This was more than one big money winner per day on the network.
• There were no big money winners in September to come close to the biggest cash prize awarded on the Casino Rewards this month and in fact, it was a much more even month in terms of how the money was spread around the 36 jackpot winners, with a top prize of just over 56,000 awarded to one player.
• Mega Vault Millionaire produced the biggest winner of the month and in fact, the three Mega Moolah slots on the network, Mega Moolah and Atlantean Treasures being the other, produced four of the top five big money winners in September 2020 between them, with Mega Moolah producing two of the top five wins of the month.
• Winners were split pretty evenly across the month with 19 winners from the 1^st to 15^th September and 17 from 16^th to the 30^th.
• The best day for jackpot winners was the 15^th September, with five players claiming a jackpot prize on this day across four games. We saw four winners on the 28^th September, with three winners on the 1^st, 12^th, 18^th and 29^th
• We saw two winners landed on the 5th, 13^th, and 29^th
• Days that saw one winner were the 7^th, 8^th, 9^th, 11^th, 17^th, 23^rd, 24^th, 25^th, 26^th, 27^th and 30^th
• We did not see any jackpot winners on the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, 6^th, 10^th, 14^th, 16^th, 19^th, 20^th, 21^st and 22^nd of September
• The smallest jackpot prize in September was CA$6,067 which was won on the Cash Splash slot on the 15^th

Which casinos and games generated the big wins in September 2020?

Last month, Luxury Casino produced the biggest value winner of the month, but this month it is the turn of players at Casino Classic to enjoy the fact that they were the casino with the biggest numeric cash prize awarded in September 2020, coming on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot, the exclusive Casino Rewards exclusive Mega Moolah slot. Let's take a look at how the casinos performed in terms of big money winners this past September.

We saw 12 Casino Rewards Casinos pay out winners in August 2020 and in September we saw 11 Casinos pay out big money winners and there was a much more even spread around casinos this month too. Captain Cooks Casino and Grand Mondial Casino were the luckiest, each landing six winners, but Cosmo Casino and Yukon Gold Casino both landed five with Zodiac Casino hitting four and Casino Classic three.

This represents a decent number of wins in the month for the Casino Rewards casinos with the majority of them seeing at least one player land a big money win. This does echo the data of previous months which has also seen a greater number of casinos paying out winners recently compared to when we first started collecting data.

So, let us now turn our attention to the number of winners on each of the big Microgaming progressive games available on the Casino Rewards Network, which once again makes very interesting reading.

Once again, we have seen Cash Splash produce 14 winners this month, the same as the game provided back in August, but only one of those winners cracked the top ten prize amounts for September and that was in 10^th spot. Mega Moolah saw one more winner in September compared to August with Treasure Nile slot's number of winners increasing from four to six. We saw Atlantean Treasures land one more winner this month with four, while Mega Vault Millionaire saw four less winners, although it did have the largest cash prize win of September in its three winners.

Interestingly, if you combine all of the Mega Moolah progressive wins, a total of 16 winners claimed Major progressive jackpot prizes on the three Mega Moolah slots available at Casino Rewards casinos, that is a hit rate of one Major jackpot prize winner every two days across the three games.

Compared to last month, we saw more winners for both Euro and US Dollar players, with the number of Euro winners increasing by four and US Dollar winners doubling from two to four. However, we did see the number of Canadian Dollar winners decrease somewhat markedly from 27 last month to 21 this.

Canadian Dollar players still landed the most higher value wins with eleven of them claiming a prize of 20,000 or more. However, we also saw the number of better value wins for Euro players and US Dollar players increase with seven Euro players landing prizes of over 20,000 and three US Dollar prizes of above 30,000.

Given the number of Canadian Dollar wins and the fact that prize amounts were generally even across the board in September 2020, the data in terms of how much was won cumulatively by each currency sees Canadian Dollars once again come out on top. Although the Euro and US Dollar wins were significantly up on what they achieved last month.

The figures for the Euro and US Dollar winners is interesting because it is the second month in a row that we have seen a marked increase in winners for both these currencies, while it is the second month in a row that the cumulative amount of Canadian Dollar winners has also decreased. In fact, the amount awarded to Canadian Dollar players has decrease by around 230,000 from last month.

Will this impact the average amounts won by winners in each currency? Let's take a look at the data.

What we can see here is that the US Dollar average win is considerably higher this month compared to both the Euro and Canadian Dollar win, even though there were more than double the amount of US Dollar winners this month. What is also notable though is that all three average win amounts are somewhat lower than the amounts for this category in August 2020.

However, to really compare the three average win amounts, we need to convert these average wins from three different currencies into one currency for much easier comparison. For that we are going to use the base currency for Microgaming Progressive Jackpot games, the British Pound and that does make the difference between the currencies much more appreciable.

Once again, you can see the value of playing these slot games in a currency that has a greater value to the British Pound as the wins for both the US Dollar and Euro were just under £12,000 greater in value for US Dollar players and around £9,000 greater value for Euro players compared to Canadian Dollar winners.

This does seem to show that despite their being more Canadian Dollar winners in a typical month, these players don't win as much comparatively as players using other currencies.

What were the biggest Casino Rewards wins in September 2020?

September 2020 saw the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot landed twice, but unfortunately for members of Casino Rewards, neither of those wins were landed at one of their casinos. The jackpots were of just over 4 million and 3 million respectively, the first in Canadian Dollars and the second in New Zealand Dollars.

In terms of the Casino Rewards, there were not too many really big money winners this month. No player landed a prize of over 57,000 in value, which is one of the lower values for this figure over the past year or so. However, there were a number of winners between the 20,000 and 40,000 mark. This tends to suggest that for September 2020 at least, the money won on the network was distributed more evenly across more winners than in previous months.

Once again, rather like August 2020's data, we didn't see a huge range of wins in September 2020, if anything the range was smaller than in August with a top value win of around 20,000 less than the previous month. However, we have once again seen a much more even spread of jackpot wins with more people winning over 20,000 or more in their respective currency, which means the average win value hasn't been impacted too greatly.

Casino Rewards will no doubt be delighted to see their Mega Vault Millionaire exclusive Mega Moolah slot game pay out the highest amount this month to a player. That will have been a Mega Moolah Major progressive jackpot winner. Indeed, four of the top five prizes won this month were Major jackpot winners on the popular progressive Network with Mega Moolah (with two winners) and Atlantean Treasures also contributing a winner apiece in the top five.

Aside from those slots, it was Treasure Nile that had the most winners in the top ten with five, while the Cash Splash slot, which usually produces lower value winners also saw one of its jackpot prize winners claim the 10^th spot in the list, for the second month in succession.

We saw 15 winners claiming a jackpot of 30,000 or more and that increased to 21 for prizes worth 20,000 or more, which are both figures comparable with the statistics we recorded back in August.

Mobile vs desktop winners in September 2020

With 36 winners once again in September 2020, following on from the same number in August 2020, this means that September is a middling month in terms of the number of winners and also in terms of the sheer number of mobile winners, it is also somewhat in the middle by that characteristic too.

With 26 mobile winners in September, we saw two fewer of those winners than August, but we also saw two more winners land their cash prizes on desktop connections and the good news is that with 36 winners once again across the month, we have maintained the average number of wins exceeding the days in the month once again. Across 2020 in total, we have now seen 342 big money winners through the first nine months of the year. With three months of the year left to go, we are still on target for around 450 winners across the year, which is well over one per day on the network.

There is nothing in this data that suggests that mobile users are losing interest. Indeed, if anything, the long term data suggests that mobile gaming is the most popular form of gaming nowadays by a considerable margin. While September saw the same number of winners in total as August 2020, and was a pretty average month in comparison in terms of the number of winners, what was notable for September's winners was that there were not very many high value wins, with only two wins eclipsing the 50,000 mark and both of those only exceeded that amount by a few thousand. There were no winners close to the 100,000 mark at all, although there were a good number of winners around the 20,000 to 40,000 mark.
