Nobleways slot Wanted Outlaws comes with 3125 Ways to Win
John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, The Magnificent Seven and more have all earned their reputations playing cowboys in the old west and that is the era that this new All41 Studios slot game for Microgaming transports you to.
The game is Wanted Outlaws and it offers players a somewhat unusual take on some relatively common slot game features.
Thought you knew how slots would use Wild symbols, well think again as in this game, Wilds only come into play on the reels in Free Spins and also are used in that bonus in two different ways. With a 5x5 reel set and the 3125 ways to win Nobleways mechanic, it is a game that seems to be somewhat lower variance, but in fact offers very high volatility.
That means that you should treat it with respect especially as you can bet from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin.
With a 2,500x jackpot available to be won, let's take a look at what this slot has to offer in more detail.

Presentation
Western slots always tend to take on a similar dynamic that is replicated in all the films and TV shows depicting that era. So you can expect to see the usual wooden town set, sandy desert backdrops, mountains, railroads and of course big skies dominating. The way that All41 have done this slot is not the most original, but the graphics are nicely done and although they are a tad basic, they do fit well in the western theme.
Playing over the top of the game is a country and western style soundtrack which also fits in with the ambiance of the slot very nicely. All in all the design of the game is neat and tidy, if not that spectacular and the 5x5 reel set is superimposed over this screen bang in the middle. The main controls are offset to the right of the reels.
The Wanted Outlaws slot is a Nobleways game, which means there are 3125 ways to win in the game by using adjoining symbols across three or more reels.
What is on the reels?
There are a total of 13 different symbols on the reels in the Wanted Outlaws slot. They start with the lowest value symbols which are the playing card lows and these range from 9 through to the ace. Wins on these symbols range from just 0.2x your bet up to 2x your total bet for five aces across the reels. It should be noted though that symbols are stacked in the game at times and as such, it is possible to land wins across multiple lines.
The four highest value symbols in the game are all based on a western theme and include horseshoe, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and gloves and the highest value symbol is two pistols. Wins on these symbols range from 1x your bet to 20x your bet. However, you can win with just two of the Pistols symbols on a line, which pays out a prize of 0.5x your bet.
The other three symbols in the base game are the Wanted Symbols. There are three different types of these but you can land any combination of these across the reels to trigger a win ranging from 0.5x your bet for three across the reels, to 5x your bet for five across the reels. These symbols do play a greater role in the bonus features you can access in the Free Spins round.
Wild features
There is a Wild feature in the Wanted Outlaws slot, but it does not appear in the base game. Instead, it appears in the Free Spins bonus round only. In Free Spins you can land the Wild symbol, which is the cowboy symbol, on the second, third, fourth and fifth reels only and they are used with other symbols on the reels to help land a win as a substitute.
Free Spins features
The Sheriff's badge symbol is the Scatter symbol in the game and if you land three, four or five of these across the reels on a spin you will trigger the Free Spins. Bonus round with 10, 15 or 25 Free Spins respectively.
Scatters do not appear on the reels during the Free Spins bonus round, which means that you cannot re-trigger the bonus from within the round unfortunately.
During Free Spins you have the Wild symbol on all reels bar the first as explained above and you also have a different use of the Wanted Poster symbols. If on a Free Spin you land a Wanted symbol on the reel, it will display a reward which is based on a multiplier of your standard bet. If you then also manage to land a Wild on the reels on the same spin, then the Wild will collect all the bounties awarded on any of the Wanted posters that also land on the reels on that spin.
Wanted bonuses can range from 2x your bet up to 200x your bet and these are selected randomly for each poster on each spin. These wins are in addition to any wins that you may also land on the reels during the Free Spins bonus round.
Best feature of the Wanted Outlaws slot
There are a lot of nice features to enjoy on the Wanted Outlaws slot. However I must address the use of the Wild symbol in the game. I have to say that without it, the base game is not quite as rewarding as you would expect, even though you do tend to win very frequently on the game. The wins tend not to be huge though and so it is a highly volatile slot. However, when the Wild is used in the Free Spins bonus round, it is used in a very clever and innovative way, not just acting as a Wild but also collecting wins from any Poster Multiplier bonuses you have landed on that same spin. For me, I think this feature is what makes the game so enjoyable and it is certainly one novel way of using a bonus within the Free Spins round.
Conclusion
All41 Studios games do have a tendency to look a little basic and then surprise you with the level of complexity and innovation that is on offer and that is very much the case here with the Wanted Outlaws slot. The number of ways to win may make you think this is a somewhat lower variance game, but that is not the case. This is a very high variance game which uses some familiar bonus features in unusual ways to make the whole experience a lot more interesting. The base game is a little too punitive at times with those very low value wins, but there are some fine rewards available if you can trigger the Free Spins bonus. Overall, this is a very decent slot game indeed.
