Absolootly Mad jackpot slot is the latest Mega Moolah powered game

The game is by Triple Edge Studios and is called Absolootly Mad. The reason for that is because it is based on the famous Mad Hatters Tea Party from the Lewis Carroll book Alice in Wonderland.

Back in February, after a limited release for both games, Microgaming expanded the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network once again with the universal release of the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot. This joined the original Mega Moolah, as well as the Casino Rewards exclusive Mega Vault Millionaire, in offering punters another chance to land a massive progressive jackpot prize (which currently stands at 9.5 million at the time of writing).

Barely two months later and we are about to witness the release of another game offering punters a chance to win that massive Mega Moolah prize. Releasing a new progressive jackpot slot is always a nervy time for providers as a name like Mega Moolah is well respected. So does the Absolootly Mad slot offer a welcome addition to the growing series? We decided to take a sneaky preview look before the game is officially released to find out.

Presentation

The Absolootly Mad slot has been based on the Mad Hatters Tea Party, one of the iconic moments in the famous Alice in Wonderland book by Lewis Carroll. All the key characters including the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit are in attendance and the purple backdrop of playing cards, a watch and tea service is perfectly suited to the game.

There are lots of nice touches with the presentation too, including a rather glorified announcement when you start playing the game and some jaunty music playing along as you spin the reels. The sound effects when you land a win are well done and the Rolling Reels animates nicely. You can see the progressive jackpots listed at the top of the screen as well as the Golden Teapot, which fills with the coins you collect each time you land a Wild on the reels (we will explain how this works later).

All in all, this is a slot that looks superb but you can tell immediately that it is part of the Mega Moolah family of games and that is not a bad thing at all. Be warned though, this is a higher variance game as you would expect, so you may need to spin for a while to hit some of the better rewards on offer in the game.

What is on the reels?

There are ten standard symbols on the reels, plus a couple more symbols that trigger the main bonus features of the slot. The standard symbols start with the four playing card symbols and these range from the diamond up to the spade. Wins on these symbols range from 0.15x your total bet up to 2.4x your total bet if you can land five clubs across the reel.

The other six symbols are the higher value symbols and these are the golden stopwatch, a stack of teacups, a butterfly cake, a White Rabbit cake, a Cheshire Cat cake and lastly, the Mad Hatter himself. Wins on these symbols range from 0.25x your total bet for 3 of the Watch symbols up to 10x your total bet for landing five of the Mad Hatter symbols across the reels.

Those prizes don't sound great particularly high, but there is an additional feature to help you bump up the value of those wins. Firstly, you can win across multiple lines with multiple symbols so you can double up on wins on some spins. However, the main way you can increase the value of the win is through the Multiplier Trail which kicks in when you land a win.

That is because this is when the Rolling Reels feature triggers and the winning symbols will disappear after they have paid out, to be replaced with new symbols dropping down from above. In addition, the Multiplier Trail will move on by one up to a maximum of 5x the standard win. So if you can land successive Rolling Reels wins, then you can really rack up some better value wins quite quickly.

Alongside these standard symbols on the reels there is a Wild symbol and the Free Spins Scatter symbol and we will explore what both these do below.

Wild features

The Wild Symbol is the Mad Hatters Gold Coin and this can appear on any of the middle three reels in the game. It can substitute for all the standard symbols in the game to help you land some wins during the base game (and also during Free Spins). In addition, you can also use the Wild as a substitute for the Scatter symbol, which is a nice touch.

However, the Wild is also the key to a shot at triggering the progressive jackpot prize. Each time you land a Wild on the reels, whether it is part of a win or not, one coin for each Wild symbol is added to the Golden Teapot at the top of the screen.

When a Wild is part of a win, the Rolling Reels feature will trigger and every Wild you have collected up until the trigger, and on any subsequent Rolling Reels win, will be added to the Teapot. The more Wilds you collect the more chance you have of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game at the end of the Rolling Reels feature. If you do not trigger a shot at the four progressive jackpot prizes, then you will simply begin playing the base game again.

If you do trigger the bonus game, then you will have the chance to spin the Jackpot Bonus Wheel. Here you will spin the wheel and be guaranteed to win one of the four progressive jackpot prizes. The Mini (starting at 10.00), Minor (from 100.00), Major (from 10,000) and lastly the Mega jackpot which is seeded at 1,000,000 and can often grow far in excess of that.

Free Spins features

The other main bonus on the Absolootly Mad slot is the Free Spins bonus. The wooden door Scatter symbol is the key to this bonus and you need to land three or more of them across the reels in order to trigger the bonus feature. You can use the Wild symbol to help you land the required three symbols in order to trigger the bonus.

When you do, you are given 8 Free Spins and you can re-trigger the Free Spins from within the bonus by landing three Scatters (or a mixture of three Scatters and Wilds) once again. The game continues as in the base game, but there is one big difference in that the Multiplier Trail is increased in value to 3x the standard win amounts, so the starting win prize is 3x (not 1x) and the maximum win on the Multiplier Trail is 15x (instead of 5x).

Best feature of the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot

For me, although the Jackpot Bonus Game is the one that everyone that plays the game will want to trigger, I think that the real winning element of the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot is the Rolling Reels feature. This can lead to some much-needed bigger base game wins and some even higher wins in the Free Spins bonus round too. In fact, I think all the elements of this slot are very appealing and knit together superbly well into a well thought out and hugely enjoyable slot.

Conclusion

Of course, the fact that you could win a huge amount of money playing the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot is one of the biggest draws to the game, but I actually feel that even if you took away the progressive jackpot element, Triple Edge Studios have delivered a hugely playable and enjoyable slot game. All the boxes you would want ticking on a higher variance slot are there and the Rolling Reels feature, both in the base game and Free Spins can prove to be very lucrative even if you don't trigger a jackpot bonus wheel opportunity. This is a very fine slot indeed and a welcome addition to the family of Mega Moolah slot games.

You can play Absolootly Mad slot at any of the Mega Moolah casinos.
