Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot game symbols and pay outs explained
The fact that the new Atlantean Treasures slot is part of the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network means that this new game was always going to be a smash hit success when it was released in early 2020.
However, what is fair to say is that even Microgaming could not have envisaged just how popular their new slot had become, with the game quickly becoming established as one of the most popularly played games at casinos where it is hosted. So much so that we have already seen a number of lucky players already land the sizeable Major progressive jackpot prize.
The evidence of how popular Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah has been since its release is also reflected in the speed at which the Mega Moolah top progressive jackpot prize, the Mega jackpot, has increased in value since the games release. At the time of writing, as we have not yet had a winner of the top prize since the end of December 2019, the jackpot has already climbed to over 6.6 million and it is still rising quickly.
One of the reasons that is happening is because of the massive popularity of the Atlantean Treasures slot has added to the spins played on the other Mega Moolah powered slots (including the Casino Rewards exclusive Mega Vault Millionaire slot) to facilitate the jackpot prize pool increasing at a much more rapid rate.
Of course, by the time you are reading this, that jackpot may have been won, or it may have grown well beyond that amount. Part of the appeal of slots like Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah is that the progressive can be won on any spin, at any time by any player. So if you are one of those players that wants to try their luck on the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot, then our guide to the different symbols used on the reels in the game, and the payouts that you can get for them, will be hugely beneficial.
Before we start that though, let's explain how the 10 pay lines in the game work, and how the Win Both Ways aspect of the slot benefits the player.
Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah pay lines and win both ways explained
There are ten pay lines on the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot, but the great thing about this is that you can win both ways across the reels on those pay lines. This is an important feature as it means that even if the first two reels do not reveal a winner for you, the spin is not over as if the third, fourth and fifth reels line up a winner from right to left, you can win that way too.
The important thing to note is that for five symbol wins, you only receive the win for one way across the reel (so if you land five symbols, you win just the one way across the reels, not both, so you do not receive 2x the 5 symbol win).
This particular game structure has been hugely successful with a number of games in the past, but this is the first time that such a game has had the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot prizes attached to it.

Atlantean Treasures base game symbols explained
There are essentially just three different types of symbols on the reels in the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot. The standard symbols (of which there are seven) and the Expanding Wild symbol. There is another special symbol, the Progressive Trigger Symbol, which can overlay other symbols. We will deal with each of the types of symbol in turn below.
Outlined below are the seven standard symbols on the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot. Also displayed is the amount of money you can win by landing three, four or five of the symbols on the reels, expressed as a multiple of your total bet. For an example, we have put in brackets how much you would win for a standard bet of 1.00 per spin.
It is worth noting that all symbols in the game can be stacked on the reels and can fill an entire reel up on any spin. This means that it is possible to land more than one pay line win on any spin and as such, it is possible to win on all ten pay lines, if you can fill up the reels with the same symbol on a spin.
Standard symbols
Starfish
- 5 Symbol Win - 2.5x (2.50)
- 4 Symbol Win - 1x (1.00)
- 3 Symbol Win - 0.5x (0.50)
Sea Anemone
- 5 Symbol Win - 2.5x (2.50)
- 4 Symbol Win - 1x (1.00)
- 3 Symbol Win - 0.5x (0.50)
Seahorse
- 5 Symbol Win - 4x (4.00)
- 4 Symbol Win - 1.5x (1.50)
- 3 Symbol Win - 0.7x (0.70)
Purple and Orange Fish
- 5 Symbol Win - 5x (5.00)
- 4 Symbol Win - 2x (2.00)
- 3 Symbol Win - 0.8x (0.80)
Pink and Orange Fish
- 5 Symbol Win - 6x (6.00)
- 4 Symbol Win - 2.5x (2.50)
- 3 Symbol Win - 1x (1.00)
Blue Seven
- 5 Symbol Win - 12x (12.00)
- 4 Symbol Win - 6x (6.00)
- 3 Symbol Win - 2.5x (2.50)
Blue Bar
- 5 Symbol Win - 25x (25.00)
- 4 Symbol Win - 20x (20.00)
- 3 Symbol Win - 5x (5.00)
Given that you could win 25.00 for landing five Bar symbols across the reels on a single line, but you could land stacked symbols (or Expanded Wilds) to potentially land that win across all ten pay lines, then you could win a maximum of 25.00 x 10 in the base game of the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot, which gives you a potential jackpot of 250x your total bet.
Given that the bets in this game range from just 0.10 per spin up to 200.00 per spin, this means that for a minimum bet, the top jackpot prize is 25.00, while for the maximum bet of 200.00 per spin, that prize increases massively to 50.000.

Expanding Wild
The mermaid is the Expanding Wild in the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot and she appears on the middle three reels of the slot only. However, whenever you land one or more of these symbols on the reels on a standard spin two things happen:
- The Wild will expand to cover the entire reel that it has landed on.
- You will receive one free re-spin of the rest of the reels, with the reel that is completely Wild being held for that additional re-spin.
On your free re-spin, if you manage to land another Wild on the reel, then this will also expand to cover the reel and it will grant you another free re-spin, but this time with the two Wild reels held in place. You can trigger up to three reels featuring Expanded Wilds and three successive re-spins in this way, although most often you will get just the one re-spin.
If your original spin (before the re-spin) lands a prize, you will be awarded this before the re-spin commences. Obviously, the more Wilds you can land on your successive re-spins increases the chances of you landing a better value win.

Progressive Trigger Symbol
In addition to the symbols outlined above, there is also a Progressive Trigger Symbol in play on the game. This symbol does not appear on the reel like a standard symbol, instead it is overlaid on top of a standard symbol (not a Wild) in the base game. This Progressive Trigger Symbol can only appear on symbols on the middle three reels of the game.
Each time you collect a Progressive Trigger Symbol on these reels, you land a random chance to trigger the Jackpot Bonus Wheel game. Your chances of triggering the bonus depend on how many of the Progressive Trigger Symbols you have collected on that spin and the size of your bet in the game. The greater the number of symbols collected and the larger your stake, then the more chance you have of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game.

Jackpot Bonus Wheel
The Jackpot Bonus Wheel is very similar to the wheel that you spin in the original Mega Moolah game and your chances of winning each of the prizes is exactly the same as playing the original slot. When you trigger the bonus, you simply spin the wheel and whatever sector the pointer lands on at the end of the spin, is the progressive jackpot prize you win.
There are many sectors and of course, the Mini and Minor jackpot prizes occupy most of these sectors (Green and Blue colours). There are three Major jackpot sectors on the wheel (Red) and just one Mega jackpot sector (Gold).

The important thing to note here is that the progressive wheel is used for illustrative purposes only. It is not an accurate representation of your chances of winning each of the jackpot prizes. It is just the device used to show the outcome of your shot at winning one of the four progressive jackpot prizes.
He vast majority of triggers will see the Mini and Minor jackpot prizes won. Major jackpots are won relatively frequently, but it is much more rare for the Mega Jackpot prize to be won, but when it is, it is for a life-changing amount of money.
