Atlantean Treasures slot powered by Mega Moolah emerges from the depths
Fresh on from the release of the Mega Moolah-powered Mega Vault Millionaire slot in late 2019, this February (2020), Microgaming and Neon Valley Studios have announced another addition to the portfolio.
This forthcoming game, due for release in late February, just a few weeks after the general release of the Wheel of Wishes slot, is called Atlantean Treasures and it has been designed by the team at Neon Valley Studios as part of their partnership with Microgaming.
Neon Valley have already released the popular Aurora Wilds jackpot game. This popular slot featured four jackpots (Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, offering the chance to win between 900.00 and 120,000.00 if you could trigger the jackpot prizes.
However, Atlantean Treasures promises to be an even bigger release as this game not only has four jackpot prizes, but they are progressive jackpot prizes. And better still, they are the four progressive jackpot prizes that are better known as part of the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot slot.
Rather like Mega Vault Millionaire, Atlantean Treasures will be tied in with the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot, which means those four famous jackpot prizes, the Mini, Minor, Major and Mega Jackpots (the latter of which is seeded at 1 million) will be available to be won on the new game.
Let's now take a closer look at what we know about this soon-to-be-released game.
Atlantean Treasures in focus
Perhaps the very first thing to point out here is to be careful when looking up this game online. There is another slot from a different provider that goes by the name Atlantis Treasures, but this is not a progressive jackpot slot and not a part of the Microgaming progressive network. So always make sure that you search for the right game to avoid disappointment!
The first thing to note about this slot is that it shares a number of similarities with Neon Valley's other release for Microgaming, Aurora Wilds. This new slot also has 10 pay lines in play, it also has seven standard symbols on the reels and the make-up of those symbols echoes those in the Aurora Wilds slot.
The only difference here is that the creature symbols (if which there are five) are all based on animals found under the water and that includes (in order of value), a starfish, an anemone, a seahorse, a purple coloured fish and a pink coloured fish. The two highest paying symbols are the 7 symbol and the Bar symbol, the same set up as on Aurora Wilds.
My gut feeling here is that Microgaming have realised that by only allowing Casino Rewards network players the chance to play the new Mega Vault Millionaire slot, the company realises that it needed to offer something to its customers that are members of other casinos around the world. Assuming that the Atlantean Treasures slots will go on general release to all casinos (which seems likely) this new game will give customers outside of the Casino Rewards Network the opportunity to try and win the Mega Moolah jackpot prize on a brand new game for the first time in many years.
I also feel that Microgaming have looked at how the Aurora Wilds slot has been set up and basically instructed Neon Valley to produce a very similar game, only this time, instead of having four jackpot prizes, they have instead offered people a shot at the Mega Moolah progressive prizes.
Atlantean Treasures bonus features
From m the preview of the Atlantean Treasures slot, it appears as though there are two main bonus features that are part of the game. The first is the Expanding Wilds re-spin option, This occurs when you land one or more of the Expanding Wilds (which in this slot is the Mermaid symbol) on any of the central three reels.
When this occurs, you will get a free re-spin of the reels, with the Wild locked in place. You can add another Expanding Wild to the one landed on the reels for an additional re-spin, and if you can land all three Expanding Wilds you could trigger a maximum of three re-spins of the other reels, which will likely result in a sizeable base game win.
The other bonus feature of the slot is obviously the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot game. This is triggered in a somewhat unusual way in the Atlantean Treasures slot, by collecting pearls that can appear on the reels in the game. The more pearls you collect the more chances you have of triggering the Jackpot Bonus Wheel game.
This game is very much like the original Mega Moolah Jackpot Bonus Wheel in that it is a single wheel that you spin to win one of the four available jackpot prizes, Mini, Minor, Major or Mega, depending on the colour of the sector that finishes next to the pointer when the wheel is spun.
Aurora Wilds-style game-play with a Mega Moolah jackpot
There is no doubt that the popularity of these 10-pay line slots with Expanding Wilds and Re-spins was down to the success of games like Aurora Wilds. These games have proven to be smash hits with players and the exciting thing with the new Atlantean Treasures slot, is that players can play a slot in a similar vein to those type of games, but with the huge added attraction of the Mega Moolah jackpot prize being available.
Indeed, if you asked many players what their dream slot would be, many would have likely said a game along the lines that the Atlantean Treasures slot has been designed. For that reason alone, I am confident that this game will be one of the smash hit successes of 2020.
At the moment, with the game's release not slated to occur until late February, we still don't know too much about how the actual slot works, in terms of what the variance is of the base game, what the highest or lowest priced spins will cost (though I would guess at around 0.10 for the lowest price spin, given that there are 10 pay lines on the reels). Nor do we quiet understand how collecting Pearls on the reels increases your chances of triggering the jackpot bonus game.
As such, we strongly recommend that you keep checking back here for the full lowdown on this exciting new addition to the Mega Moolah progressive network in February, during what is already shaping up to be the most exciting month for progressive jackpot slots fans in over a decade, especially when you consider the general release of the Wheel of Wishes slot earlier on in the month.
Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for more news on this exciting new game from Neon Valley Studios and of course, for our exclusive review of their new slot game, the moment it becomes available to play in casinos.
