Banana Drop slot preview: The 'BIG Buildup' is the hot slot feature
One of the best things about being a slot player is that there is a steady stream of new games released throughout the calendar year. Of course, when a new game hits casinos we like to give it a play and bring you our verdict of the game through our comprehensive review and real video play-through with real cash spins (not demo play).
One of the most consistent producers of high quality games are the studios that develop and release games under the Microgaming banner and on July 16th there is going to be another exciting game added to that list in the form of Crazy Tooth Studio's Banana Drop slot.
Who are Crazy Tooth Studios?
Formed back in 2011, Crazy Tooth Studios were a company that had already established a strong following for themselves with the release of a number of games prior to their agreement with Microgaming. Some of those titles included the likes of When Aliens Invade!, Bollywood Fantastic, Tree of Eternal Fortune and The Sweet Works.
Since joining forces with Microgaming the company has produced a total of seven games for Microgaming so far, with Banana Drop being their eighth release in conjunction with Crazy Tooth Studio's Isle of Man-based partner.
Previous releases include Arctic Valor, Queen of the Crystal Rays, Seven 7s, The Incredible Balloon Machine, Diamond Force, Lady Earth and the unusual Fortress Charge slot, which itself was only released last week.
However the new Banana Drop slot promises another exciting new first for slot gaming with the inclusion of the new BIG Buildup feature.
Let's take a closer look now at what we can expect when Banana Drops eventually drops into Casinos on the 16th July.
Banana Drop slot preview
What do we know about Crazy Tooth Studios latest release? Well, we know that it is going to be a heavily feature-packed slot. To begin with, it is a medium variance game, which makes a change to the high number of higher variance games that have been released of late. We also know that it is a 6x4 reel slot and that rather than pay lines it will have an incredible 4,096 ways to win across the reels and that you could win up to 6,031 times your bet as the top prize.
The game has been designed in a cartoon style and the Jungle feature of the game does remind me very much of the original Mega Moolah slot, as does the musical styling of the slot. However, there the similarities between the two games end as while Mega Moolah focuses on a variety of jungle creatures, in Banana Drop it is monkeys and their love of the curved fruit that is the main focus of the game.
We also know that the minimum bet on the slot will be just 0.15 per game, while higher rollers can ramp up the bet size up to a maximum of 30.00, which means that it is suitable for players of all bankroll and bet sizes.
The six reels sit in the centre of the screen and they have been designed to look like banana trees, with the symbols (four on each reel) appearing on the trunk of the tree. Add to the mix some truly engaging audio and animations and you have a game that looks and sounds excellent too.
Crazy Tooth Studio have used the 'ways to win' system to great effect on previous releases Arctic Valor and Diamond Force and once again it is in effect here. The symbols on the reels are split into three different groups. The lower value symbols being the watermelons, pineapples and coconuts.
The four playing card symbols, Jack, Queen, King and Ace are, somewhat unusually, the mid-value wins in the game, while the hippos, giraffes, lions and zebras are the higher paying symbols on the reels. Wins on a single pay line are small, as is the case on all Ways to Win games, but you can land stacked symbols to land wins across multiple pay lines on each spin and it is this way that offers you the better chance of some bigger wins in the base game.
However, if you are going to land a bigger prize on the Banana Drop slot, it is most likely to come from one of the many different features included in the game.
Banana Drop main features
The main feature of the game is the BIG Buildup feature. This works in conjunction with another feature of the slot, the Falling Banana feature, which is a randomly triggered bonus that can occur on any spin. On each of the Banana Tree reels, you will notice that bananas will appear on the trees.
When the Falling Banana feature triggers, a monkey swings onto screen holding onto a vine and as he moves across the screen, he will knock the bananas from the trees above down onto the reels below. You can land up to three bananas per reel. Each banana that lands on the reel will then resolve into either a cash prize, or will turn into a Wild symbol.
The BIG Buildup feature plays a part in increasing the number of bananas on each tree as on any spin, the feature can trigger and when it does the tree will start to grow more bananas, which means when the Falling Banana feature triggers, you have a better chance of landing more cash prizes or more Wilds on the reels.
The other big feature on the slot is the Free Spins bonus round, which is triggered when you land three of the Leaf Scatter symbols anywhere across the six reels. When you do, you trigger 7 Banana Drop Bonus Spins.
Here the Falling Banana feature will trigger on every single Free Spin and in addition you can land a full stack of Monkey symbols on the reels which if landed, will add to the number of bananas on the tree above it. Oddly, the full stacks do not actually cover the entire reel at all, which is something of a misnomer.
Crazy Tooth Studio have produced some wonderfully imaginative games for Microgaming over the last year or so and the Banana Drop slot will be another fine addition to that list when it is released in mid-July, 2020.
With Microgaming already releasing the Aurora Beast Hunter and Wild Catch slots over the last week or so, and a whole host of exciting new games set to follow over the course of the next few months including the likes of Ancient Warriors (which incidentally, is another Crazy Tooth Studios game), Diamond Inferno, Goldaur Guardians, Immortal Glory, Mayan Eagle, Playboy Fortunes, Retro Galaxy and Wolf Howl, it promises to be an exciting month ahead for slot fans!
We'll review each and every of those slots also with video and you'll be able to try out the demo games right here on MegaMoolah.com!
