Can United States citizens play Mega Moolah?

One of the most exciting things about playing the Mega Moolah slot game is that it is generally so accessible in large parts of the world.

You can visit the Country page of the main site to check out the states of whether you can play Mega Moolah legally in any part of the world. Luckily in most parts of the world, you can play Mega Moolah freely, but there are a small number of countries where access is not available for a variety of reasons, most often legislation introduced by the powers that be that either restricts access to, or outlaws, some or all forms of online gambling.

Unfortunately for many United States-based citizens, one of the countries where this is the case is the U.S. This is particularly galling for many American slots enthusiasts because we know that the country has a deep and abiding love for slot games (some of the largest slot game wins ever recorded have been landed in the United States at casinos in Las Vegas). Many of these wins even outstrip the massive online wins experienced by a lucky couple of winners on the Mega Moolah slot.

It is also the case that if you live in any U.S. governed part of the world, such as Guam for example, or the US. Virgin Island, then you cannot play Mega Moolah from these parts of the world either.

It all paints a somewhat bleak picture for US citizens in terms of them being able to play Mega Moolah, but does this mean that a U.S. citizen living in a different part of the world to their home nation, also cannot play Mega Moolah?

We know that many countries have a healthy population of people that reside and work in a different country. There are millions of US citizens who are in a similar position, displaced from their home country due to choice, work, marriage or similar and who are based overseas.

What are the rules regarding these US citizens when it comes to playing Mega Moolah?

Can US citizens living outside of the US play Mega Moolah

The first thing to note here is that while you are a citizen of the United States, you are not obligated to follow US law in the country in which you reside, if that country is not the United States. So for example, if you are US citizen living in the United Kingdom, you are free to drink alcohol in pubs or bars from the age of 18, not 21 as it is in certain states in the U.S.

In terms of Mega Moolah, this means that if you are a U.S. citizen living in another country that does allow its citizens to play Mega Moolah, then you can play the game, provided (and this is the key point) that you own a bank account or similar payment facility within the country in which you are resident.

For example, if you are a U.S. citizen living in the United Kingdom and have a UK-based bank account to run your affairs in the UK, even if you have a separate US-based bank account, then you can use your UK-based account to fund your play on Mega Moolah.

However, if you do not have a bank account in your adopted country and still just have a US-based bank account, then you are not going to be able to play Mega Moolah until you open an account in your resident country.

Essentially, if you meet the criteria for a player to play Mega Moolah in the country in which you reside, then the fact you are a US-citizen is irrelevant. You are allowed to play Mega Moolah. Of course, you must adhere to the rules in your resident country. So for example, in our example above of a US citizen living in the UK, they would be allowed to play Mega Moolah if they had a bank account based in the UK but also if they were aged 18 or over.

What is great about this rule is that you can then apply it to any citizen from any country around the world living in any other country around the world. So if a French citizen was living in Brazil for example, they too would be able to play Mega Moolah in Brazil, provided they had a Brazilian based bank account and adhered to the rules for Brazilian online gaming.

What is the story if I travel a great deal with my work/lifestyle?

Things get a little more complicated if you are a person who travels extensively but once again there is some simple guidance you can follow to ascertain whether you can play Mega Moolah.

The first and perhaps most important thing, is your bank account. You will likely have one, if not more, bank accounts available to you if you travel frequently and where these are based will have a big impact on whether you can play Mega Moolah. Have a bank in a country where Mega Moolah is not available and you will struggle, however, have an account in a country where you can play Mega Moolah and you should not have too many issues when travelling.

The next thing to consider is the country in which you are, temporarily residing. If you are not allowed to play Mega Moolah in a country, then it is best you follow those rules. If Mega Moolah is available and you have a bank account you can use to fund your gaming, then play the game.

Remember, the account you used to fund your gaming will be the one that any winnings are paid to, so ensuring you have an accessible bank account is one of the key factors for any player based outside of their home country, or travelling.

What about using software such as a VPN?

Software such asVirtual Private Networks allow you to seemingly connect to the internet from another part of the world and as such, you can get around some local laws that prohibit you from accessing certain parts of the internet, such as being able to gamble online.

Using a VPN is perfectly legal. Let's say you are travelling in a country where Mega Moolah is not available, but you are based in a country which does allow Mega Moolah play, and you have a bank account and/or debit or credit card from that country, and you are travelling for a short time only, then using a VPN may be a good way to make playing Mega Moolah simpler for you.

Just remember that online casinos will automatically detect your internet protocol address (IP address) and if you arrive from a "banned" country they may not allow you to enter the website. To circumvent this you simply turn on the VPN and only then connect to a network in your country of residence and then access the online casino to play Mega Moolah. It's a perfectly legal way to "trick" the online casino's IP detection. Besides tricking websites a VPN is useful for many other security and web safety related issues. You can find out more about this on our VPN page.
