Casino Rewards winners: April 2020

Last month we wondered if the first shoots of spring would burst forth from the ground. Well the good news is that improving temperatures and an abundance of flowers and creatures means that spring is well and truly here and in April 2020, that also meant an abundance of big money winners at the Casino Rewards Network!

In total we saw a record month for total winners with a massive 51 players earning big money wins, smashing the previous best for 2020 (38) by a considerable margin. At that rate, the Casino Rewards group was paying out 1.7 jackpot prizes every day throughout April.

However, while in many respects April 2020 was an exceptional month, there were other parts of the data which were pretty similar to other months, notably the games that were paying out the big money (the same five games as from March 2020) and also the average amount won in the different currencies that we focus on in this article.

We also did see the Mega Moolah jackpot won in April, at Jackpot City Casino, but since that win on April the 5^th, the Jackpot has risen once again to over 13 million at the time of writing and there is every possibility it could rise beyond the 16.4 million it reached early in the month over the coming weeks. What a surprise win for somebody in May that would be.

Let's now take a closer look at some of the key data from April 2020, the most successful month we have had for Casino Rewards Network winners since we began collating the data!

Casino Rewards progressive pay outs - April 2020

• We had one big money Mega Moolah progressive winner land a prize in April, at Jackpot City Casino for a prize of over CA$16.4 million. This win however is not included in this data as Jackpot City does not belong to the Casino Rewards group. The largest win from the casinos that are part of the data was of CA$154,779 and this win was the largest cash win of the year from our casinos.
• What was incredible about April 2020 was the sheer number of winners and in particular Canadian Dollar winners. There were a total of 51 winners across the month and a staggering 36 of those winners landed their prize in Canadian Dollars, winning over CA$1.1 million between them.
• April 2020 was the most successful month in terms of the number of big money winners at our linked casinos since we began keeping records.
• The luckiest days of the month came just a few days apart with four big money winners confirmed on both the 19^th of April and the 22^nd of April.
• Several days also saw three winners land their prize on that day, 5^th, 10^th, 15^th, 25^th, 28^th and 30^th of April.
• There were two big money winners on the 6^th, 8^th, 9^th, 11^th, 17^th, 21^st, 23^rd of the month.
• The following days had single jackpot winners; 3^rd, 12^th, 13^th, 16^th, 20^th, 24^th, 27^th and 29^th of April.
• Despite posting 51 winners in the month there were no winners on the 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th, 7^th, 14^th, 18^th and 26^th
• There were 23 winners in the first 15 days of April but 28 in the second 15.
• The smallest recorded jackpot won in April 2020 was a €5,020 prize won on the 20^th April at Cosmo Casino on the Cash Splash slot.

Which casinos and games generated big winners in April 2020?

Grand Mondial Casino was the casino that generated the most winners in March 2020, with 9 players earning their big money wins at the casino. It finished well clear of Luxury Casino which managed to hit five winners in the same month. However, with so many more wins in April 2020, how have those extra big money wins affected the data?

A total of 11 different casinos paid out big money jackpot prizes this month, which is two more than in March and three more than in February. Grand Mondial Casino had six fewer winners this month than in February, but Captain Cooks Casino had eight more winners this month, while Cosmo Casino had seven more big money winners in April 2020. We also recorded a win at Casino Action and Classic Casino and a relatively rare win at Grand Hotel this month too.

Now we know which casinos were paying out this month, let's take a look at which games were the ones offering up their prizes in April 2020.

Cash Splash paid out a massive 22 big money winners this month to finish top of the charts and even an extra three winners on the Mega Moolah slot was only enough to push it into second place. We saw the same number of winners as last month, four on both the other Mega Moolah progressive linked slots Atlantean Treasures and Mega Vault Millionaire. Add the Mega Moolah powered slots together and it's a tie at 22 for Cash Splash and 22 for Mega Moolah. Interestingly, although Treasure Nile had just three winners, it did pay out the top two biggest cash prizes (in numeric terms) of the month.

The currency table remains the same once again in April 2020 but what is notable is that the big winner this month was the Canadian Dollar. While US Dollar winners saw a drop of three players from March 2020 (despite far more wins overall) and the Euro saw just one more winner, Canadian winners in April were more than double the amount of March with 36 winners this month compared to 17 last month.

Canadian Dollar winners also landed the top prize this month too, for the first time since January 2020. It is abundantly clear therefore that Canadian Dollars were the currency to play with at Casino Rewards in April if you wanted to land a win! So how do the currencies compare when we round up or down the winning amounts to the nearest full unit and compare the total amount won on each?

Compared to last months figures, we have seen a slight drop in the amount of cash won by players using the Euro and the US Dollar, but there has been an incredible surge in the amount won in Canadian Dollars, which recorded almost three times as much money awarded in prizes in April as it did in March 2020.

So how does this compare when we look at the average amount won in each of the currencies based on the total amount won and the number of winners of a prize with that currency? In previous months, Canadian players have not fared quite so well in this category, so let's see how that looks for April 2020.

So we can see that not only did Canadian players win much more often than other currencies, they also tended to win a larger numeric amount.

What were the biggest Casino Rewards Network wins in April 2020?

We did have a Mega Moolah jackpot winner in April, who landed their prize at Jackpot City Casino, but that casino is not included in the Casino Rewards Network, or in this data. However, we still had a bumper months of wins in April and there were a good number of higher value wins that players enjoyed too, particularly those over the 40,000 mark.

We did have one clear big money winner who earned a bigger prize than the biggest winner in March and the data for April seems to follow a similar tend, although there were many more winners in April which has tended to give this month a few higher amount winners. The same as January and February and March, we have had just one winner above the 100,000 mark in April, although this was the biggest win of the year to date. What is striking is that of the top ten, nine landed their wins on a mobile device, a staggering 90% hit rate. Also April saw many more bigger value winners, the 10^th placed winner in March landed just over CA$28,000, in April it was CA$20,000 more than that amount.

April saw 33 winners land a prize of over 20,000, more than double that of March. 22 people earned wins of 30,000 or more and 14 players earned prizes of 40,000 or more. All those figures are massive leaps compared to the winners in each category for both February and March 2020.

Mobile vs desktop winners in April 2020

We already know that April has been by far and away the biggest month in terms of the sheer number of winners with a staggering 51 jackpot prizes claimed across the 30 days, that is far more than the other best month of the year January, which saw 38 winners. It also means that we are still averaging more than one jackpot winner a day across the entire network and across the Casino Rewards Network casinos that submit data to this list.

If anything, the sheer number of winners in April has accelerated the number of jackpots won each day well over the 1 a day mark. In total, we have had 155 jackpot winners in 2020 alone in the casinos that we are tracking. Considering, January, February, March and April comprised of 121 days in total (it is a leap year) that clearly indicates just how often jackpots have been won this year.

Incredibly of the 51 winners in April, we had 42 of them landing their prize on mobile, with just 9 winners landing their jackpot on a desktop device. That means we hit 82% of winners on mobile in April, the fourth time we have hit over 80% since we began keeping records of this particular data.

The data is a bounce back after a relatively small percentage of mobile winners in February and is indicative of the increasing number of players that are accessing their chosen casino from a mobile device.

We now have data that spans over a year to look back on and a quick calculation reveals that across the 13 months from April 2019 to the end of April 2020, 73.1% of winners landed their prize on mobile, however if you look back over the last four months, then even with February's data, the number of mobile winners was at 76%.

One thing to look out for in next month's data is the impact of the latest Mega Moolah slot to be released. Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah was released into casinos on the 5^th May 2020 and just as Mega Vault Millionaire and Atlantean Treasures are now starting to provide a steady stream of Mega Moolah prize winners alongside the original game, so too will this new slot over time.

With the current Mega Moolah jackpot at over 13 million, the Wheel of Wishes slot at 3.3 million, and both Major Millions and King Cashalot also offering a prize of over a million, there is still plenty of big money to play for this May at Casino Rewards casinos.
