Casino Rewards winners: December 2019

December is always something of an unusual month in the online casino gaming industry. Common sense dictates that with people having more time off work over the festive period in particular, there should be more opportunity to play games on the site, so you would expect an increase in play.

However, often the reverse is true, with more demands on people's time and money over the festive period, it often means that people don't play games as often in December as they do at other times of the year and certainly the data this month seems to corroborate that assertion.

So what does the data show? Let's take a look now at how things shaped up at the Casino Rewards casinos in December 2019.

Casino Rewards progressive pay-outs - December 2019 headlines

• Although there were no Mega Moolah or Mega Vault Millionaire jackpot winners at the Casino Rewards Network in December, there was a winner of the Mega Moolah top progressive jackpot prize in late November playing at a non-Casino Rewards Network casino. Instead, the biggest two winners this month came playing the Treasure Nile slot, both posting six-figure jackpot wins.
• There were just 24 total winners in December, the smallest number of winners we have recorded since April 2019. This was nine fewer than in November and 18 fewer than the 42 recorded in October.
• December's winners were spread throughout the month. The luckiest day for players was Christmas Eve, the 24^th December, when three players claimed prizes (two on the Cash Splash slot and one on the Mega Moolah slot).
• Several days in December saw two jackpots triggered for big money in the Casino Rewards Network, these were the 3^rd, 8^th, 12^th, 13^th, 16^th, 25^th and 28^th
• There were relatively few days in December that saw just one jackpot prize claimed and they were the 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th, 17^th, 18^th, 21^st and 23^rd of the month.
• There we several days in December when no winners landed, they included the 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, 9^th, 10^th, 11^th, 14^th, 15^th, 19^th, 20^th, 22^nd, 26^th, 27^th, 29^th, 30^th and 31^st. That is a higher number of non-winning days than in past months.
• After a drop to just three winners in November, the Mega Vault Millionaire slot bounced back with seven winners in December, three short of the 10 it recorded back in October. Two of the jackpots awarded on the slot were in excess of 50,000.
• The smallest jackpot prize awarded this month was the US$7,382.37 prize won on the 24^th December at Yukon Gold Casino playing the Cash Splash slot.
• Four games produced big money winners in December 2019, with the Cash Splash slot providing the most winners during the month (10 in total).

Which Casinos and Games Generated Big Winners in December 2019?

Last month we saw Grand Mondial Casino and Captain Cooks Casino share the top honours for rewarding the most players in the month with six big money winners apiece and we also saw 11 different casinos pay out winners. Does having considerably fewer winners in December 2019 impact this data in any way? Let's take a look to find out.

Grand Mondial Casino once again comes top of the list for the third month in a row, but the casino it shared that spot with last month, Captain Cooks Casino did not report one win in December. However, Zodiac Casino and Quatro Casino's both matched the same number of winners as Grand Mondial. Only seven casinos reported big winners in December, four down from the previous two months.

Now let's look at which games were the ones paying out the most winners in December 2019.

Usually, we have seen Mega Moolah come top of this chart over the past year so it is somewhat surprising to see the very popular slot drop to third place in the chart with Cash Splash, which scored 10 winners last month, hitting the same number of winners in December too. That was enough to earn it top spot ahead of Mega Vault Millionaire which recorded four more big money winners in December compared to November. Interestingly, although it had the fewest winners in the month, the two biggest wins of December were the two winners on the Treasure Nile slot.

Canadian Dollar players won an even greater percentage of the big money wins at the Casino Rewards network in December 2019, landing a massive 70.8% of the total big money wins reported at the casino over the period, including the three biggest value wins of the month ranging from CA$65,000+ up to CA$196,256.

There were an almost equivalent number of US Dollar and Euro winners this month with Dollar winners just pipping those in the Eurozone. This is a slight change from what has happened in previous months when Euro winners have outnumbered those that have claimed their win using the US Dollar. Once again, British players didn't have much luck not registering a big win in December or November in 2019. When we look at the total amount won for each currency, it is unsurprising that Canadian Dollars once again come out on top of the list.

Given that there were more than four times as many winners in Canadian Dollars compared to the other currencies, it is not surprising therefore that this currency was the one that saw the most winners in the month. The amount awarded in Canadian Dollars in December was an increase on November by over CA$220,000. Similarly, US Dollar players saw an increase of around US$19,000 compared to last month, but a smaller number of Euro winners saw they pay outs drop from around €210,000 last month to just over €54,000 in December.

What is interesting to note here is that while the Canadian Dollar and US Dollar average win value was much higher than the Euro, all three currencies had higher win averages in December compared to November. Euro players saw a small rise in average win of around €500, but there was big increases for the other two currencies with US Dollar players average win being worth US$10,000+ more in December, while Canadian Dollar winners also saw an increase this time of just under CA$12,000 on average. This shows that while there were fewer winners in December, players tended to win larger amounts.

Let's now compare these average totals for December in one currency, the British Pound.

Once converted into a single currency for easier comparison, it is easy to see that although they had fewer winners, the average US Dollar win was worth more than the equivalent win in Canadian Dollars, with the Euro average win trailing a little further behind the three.

What were the biggest Casino Rewards wins in December 2019?

Although there were generally fewer winners on the Casino Rewards Network in December 2019, we did see an increase in terms of the value of the bigger wins this month. Admittedly, with no Mega Moolah or Mega Vault Millionaire top progressive winner, these wins are still dwarfed a little compared to other months when we have seen a winner triggered of this jackpot. We saw 11 winners last month of. Prize of 25,000 or more in different currencies but in December 2019 that number dropped slightly to seven, which is in keeping with fewer winners. There were three winners of between 20,000 and 25,000 which can be seen in the final three spots of the list above. However, the highest value win in December was almost four times bigger than in November (which was a prize of just over CA$52,000) and there were four wins in December that were larger than the biggest win back in November.

Mobile vs Non-Mobile Winners in December 2019

For the second month in a row we have had a slight drop off of total winners in the Casino Rewards Network with their being 24 big money winners over the course of the month, which is down from 42 in October and 33 last month. This means that since April 2019, December was the month with the fewest winners we have recorded.

There could be lots of reasons for that of course. The fact that it is Christmas tends to mean people are a lot busier and so have less time to play, then when they do have some free time over the festive period, their time tends to be taken up doing things with friends and the family. There's also a lot more pressure on your finances over the Christmas period which means people tend to have a bit less disposable income around to spend.

In terms of mobile devices against non-mobile devices, in terms of wins, mobile devices were once again the big winners this month as the chart below shows. Just seven of the 24 winners landed their win on a non-mobile device, with 17 coming by way of play on a mobile device.

• November 2019 - 27 mobile winners, 6 non-mobile (81.8% mobile wins)
• December 2019 - 17 mobile winners, 7 non-mobile (70.8% mobile wins)

We also saw a drop in the percentage of mobile winners in December, with just over 70% of winners coming on a mobile device, down 11 percent from November but still higher than the figures recorded in both September and October. However, over the course of the year we have seen around 71% of winners come on a mobile device which suggests December was about standard for the year on average.

While we did have one big Mega Moolah winner in December, that came at a casino outside of the group, but the winnings this month were boosted by a couple of bigger wins on the Treasure Nile slot.
