Casino Rewards winners: July 2020

After a slight drop in winners in June 2020, we saw July 2020 record the second highest number of jackpot wins since we began keeping records, recording 44 big jackpot prizes over the course of the month across five different games and at 10 different casinos.

We also saw the third biggest jackpot win of the year paid out, as well as a huge number of 30,000-plus wins across the games, with 13 recorded in this month alone, which I feel must be a record, but which I have not yet been able to ratify.

It certainly represents a bounce back month for jackpot winners after a relatively quiet June period and only April 2020 has seen more winners recorded in a single month (which was an exceptional tally of 51).

Once again, we have seen the same five games paying out the top prizes again this month, with a particular mention here for Treasure Nile, which saw five big money winners over the course of the month, all of which landed in the top six winners in terms of numerical value across July. Certainly, it seems that while the Mega Moolah slot and its sister games Atlantean Treasures and Mega Vault Millionaire have the higher value jackpot, Treasure Nile seems to pay out its top prizes a little more readily.

So July 2020 was an excellent month for players on a number of counts, so let's investigate that a little further with a look at the main headline news from the data for July.

Casino Rewards Progressive Payouts - July 2020

• Once again, we did not see a Mega Moolah's Mega Jackpot trigger this month at a Casino Rewards casino, nor at any other casino. This means we still only have four Mega Moolah top jackpot prizes awarded in 2020 so far, with the last one being landed on May 25. The jackpot has continued to climb however and now stands just a shade under £12.75 million at the time of writing.
• July 2020 was the second-best month on record for the number of winners recorded, landing 44 winners in total, seven behind the 51 winners recorded in April 2020.
• July 2020 also produced the third highest jackpot prize award on the Casino Rewards in 2020 of over CA$165,000. It also saw thirteen players land prizes of 30,000 or more across a range of currencies, which is a large amount in any single month.
• The Treasure Nile slot was responsible for five of the six biggest wins in June 2020.
• Wins were spread relatively evenly throughout the month with 21 occurring in the first 16 days of July 2020 and 23 landing in the latter 15 days. The luckiest date of the month by a long way was the 24^th June which saw an incredible six big money jackpots won across three different games, Cash Splash, Mega Moolah and Mega Vault Millionaire.
• The next luckiest date in July 2020 was the 10^th of the month which saw four winners landed on Treasure Nile, Cash Splash (twice) and Atlantean Treasures. The Treasure Nile win on the 10^th was also the highest value win of the month.
• We saw three jackpot wins on the 3^rd, 8^th and 17^th of the month.
• The dates that saw two jackpot winners awarded were the 11^th, 12^th, 13^th 18^th, 21^st, 22^nd and 25^th of July.
• Single jackpot winners landed their prize on the 1^st, 4^th, 5^th, 15^th, 20^th, 23^rd, 28^th, 30^th and 31^st of the month.
• Days that did not see any jackpot wins landed were the 2^nd, 6^th, 7^th, 9^th, 14th, 19^th, 26^th, 27^th and 29^th of July.
• Well over a third of winners (38.6%) landed their prize from the 20^th July onwards.
• The smallest jackpot prize this month was a win of CA$5,063 which was won on the 8^th July on the Cash Splash slot.

Which casinos and games generated big winners in July 2020?

Grand Mondial Casino has now produced the biggest winner in July 2020, following up from being the casino that paid the largest amount out in June 2020 too. However, that win was one of just four for the casino, which saw its collective number of wins drop down to four from eight last month. Yukon Gold Casino was the place to play in July 2020, landing 10 big jackpot winners across the month.

We had the same number of casinos (10) paying out winners in July as we did in June but the number of winners paid out across the casinos was increased. Yukon Gold Casino was the place to play in July, producing 10 big money winners, just under a quarter of all winners across the month. Captain Cooks Casino and Zodiac Casino, with 8 and 7 winners respectively rounded out a very impressive top three.

We saw the first winner for a while from Players Palace Casino, which saw a single winner during July, while the remaining casinos are all regulars in this chart. Although Grand Mondial Casino had a drop in big money winners only recording four this month, compared to eight last.

Which games were the ones that produced the most winners in a bumper July 2020? Let's take a closer look to find out:

The Cash Splash slot paid out five more winners in July than it did in June and not only that but it also had three winners of over 30,000 in among those winners which was a hood amount. Mega Moolah also increased its number of winners by one while Atlantean Treasures saw four more winners. Mega Vault Millionaire had one fewer but Treasure Nile paid out five big money winners in July 2020, up from just two in the previous month.

Currency jackpot wins - July 2020

If June was a disappointing month in terms of the number of Canadian Dollar wins, then the currency bounced back in July. Both the Euro and US Dollar saw fewer winners than in previous months, but Canadian Dollars increased by 15 on last month, almost doubling the number of wins landed by players using the currency.

In fact, of the 13 wins of over 30,000 in value, 11 of those came to Canadian Dollar players and as you will see in the data in the table where we look at the biggest wins in the month, nine of the top ten wins were also Canadian Dollar wins.

So it is pretty much a certainty that in terms of the cumulative value of each currencies big win that the Canadian Dollar is going to enjoy a stratospheric month and the data does bear that out.

The amount won in Canadian Dollars more than doubled in July 2020 compared to June 2020 and it was almost ten times more than the next nearest currency, the Euro. Other than months when there has been a winner of the Mega Moolah top jackpot prize, this is one of the best ever months for Canadian Dollar players.

However, if we average out the wins, do Canadian players still perform so well in the data? To do that we need to look at the average win for each currency.

Strangely, the Canadian Dollar average win of just over CA$32,000 comes second in the list because the one single US Dollar win was for a slightly larger amount. However, what is notable is that the Euro average win is around €27,000 down on last month, while the Canadian average win is up by around 5,300 more than last month, even with many more winners in July 2020.

So how do the currencies compare when we transform them into a single currency for comparison purposes. For this we are using the base currency of all the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot Network games, British Pounds.

That single US Dollar win does distort the amounts won by each currency somewhat but what is clear is that the average Canadian Dollar win has increased by around £2,400 on last month, while the average Euro win has dropped by an incredible €24,000. US Dollar wins have increased by around $26,000 on average but again, this was just a single win and this does give a false impression somewhat of how the month panned out for US Dollar players.

What were the biggest Casino Rewards network wins in July 2020?

Once again, we didn't see any Mega Jackpot winners on any of the three Mega Moolah powered games you can play at Casino Rewards sites, but we have seen a much higher number of higher value wins (those I would class at 50,000 or more in any currency) than in other months I can recall. Part of the reason for that was a number of big money wins on the Treasure Nile slot.

The data below will clearly show the impact that this one slot had on July 2020 figures in total and when you combine that with a decent 61k winner on the Mega Moolah slot, that meant that we saw a hood number of higher value wins this month.

What we are seeing here is interesting as over the last few months, we have seen in months that have had fewer winners, the value of the wins in the top ten have tended to be higher, whereas in months that have seen more winners, the value of these wins has tended to be lower. July 2020 however bucked that trend with a number of big money winners including the third biggest jackpot winner of the year.

What this tends to show is that there has been an increase in the number of players playing these games as the only way you can award more jackpots of higher values, is for the games to have played more spins on them than usual to award more winners, but also retain the higher value of the jackpot prizes.

When you consider back in May 2020, we had just three winners earning a prize of over 35,000 in any currency and by June that had risen to eight. In July though we have had twelve and there were five other jackpot winners who earned a prize of over 30,000 in the month too. That is a fabulous number of big money winners.

Mobile vs desktop winners in July 2020

With a whopping 44 big money jackpot winners across the Casino Rewards in July 2020, only April 2020 has seen more winners in a single month and that was a significant improvement on the 32 winners we saw back in June.

The 44 winners in July means that as of the 31^st July 2020, we have seen a total of 270 big money jackpot winners land a prize at Casino Rewards casinos, which means that we are not far off a pace that could see over 500 big money jackpots awarded across 2020, which would be some feat. Given that we have had 216 days of the year so far, the average for jackpot wins is still well over one per day.

Once again, winners on mobile devices made up the majority of wins with almost three-quarters of all jackpot wins in July 2020 coming on a mobile device. That is pretty much about the average for wins since we started keeping records of this figure and is a slight increase in the number of mobile winners that we had seen landing their jackpot win in June. This month proved to be a hugely interesting one with a number of big money winners, especially on the Treasure Nile slot, while we also saw the Casino Rewards exclusive Mega Vault Millionaire land a fair few winners too. Is this the start of more winners for this game in particular, now that it is being pushed much harder by Casino Rewards sites? It is going to be interesting to see how that pans out over the next six months or so. Especially if we can land that elusive first big Mega Jackpot winner on the slot.
