Enchanted Oceans slot is a Casino Rewards exclusive game
This new Enchanted Oceans slot is a hark back to some of the older style games. It is a 9-pay line slot that can be played for just 0.09 per spin, but you can ramp that up to 18.00 per game if you want to bet more. The jackpot is 1111x your bet and there is a hefty Free Spins bonus round, featuring 15 Free Spins to play for, all in a mid to high variance slot.
A few years ago, there were not a huge amount of Casino Rewards games around. We had the Roar of Thunder slot, the Casino Rewards Millionaires slot, the VIP slot and that was pretty much it. However, since then we have seen the release of Immortal Creatures slot, the follow up to the smash hit success Immortal Romance slot, plus of course the incredible Mega Vault Millionaire slot, which is the Casino Reward's own exclusive Mega Moolah progressive linked slot.
We have also seen Treasure Quest slot added to the exclusive selection of games and today we are reviewing another that may have slipped under the radar for many punters and that is the Microgaming-produced Enchanted Oceans slot, which hit Casino Rewards casinos around spring in 2020.
We decided to dive into the Enchanted Oceans to see if it was a magic slot, or whether it is going to sink without a trace.

Presentation
I have to be honest and say that there are a lot of similarities with the Enchanted Treasures slot when you compare it with other 'under the sea' Microgaming offerings such as Ariana or the Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah slot. Like those games, the presentation is set underwater, but I feel the Enchanted Oceans slot is more crudely presented than those other games, which went big on presentation. I was also disappointed that the backdrop of the game wasn't animated in some way as I feel this would have livened the game up considerably.
The background music that accompanies the game is nice enough and very relaxing but it doesn't really evoke anything. There's nothing really to link it with the Enchanted Oceans title of the game and it kind of feels like the sound has been added on simply to provide a backdrop to the slot, rather than to enhance the feel of the game.
Don't get me wrong, the backdrop of the slot is fine and it does the job, but there are better examples of more exciting games to look at and play from Microgaming out there, even on this same topic, in my view.
What is on the reels?
There are a relatively high number of symbols on the reels, which is a major contributor towards why this is a higher variance slot game than you would expect. There are 13 in total, two of which are the Wild and Scatter which are linked to the main bonus features of the slot and which we will explore in more detail in the sections below.
For the standard symbols, we start off with six playing card low symbols, ranked from the 9 through to the Ace. Somewhat unusually, the lowest ranked symbol, the 9, offers wins from just 2 on a pay line (albeit it is a very small win of around 0.275x your bet) but wins range on these symbols from that small amount to 13.8x your bet. That is not a bad value range for lower value symbols at all.
The higher value symbols, which number five, are all mermaid symbols and they offer better value wins. Even three symbol wins offer you a small profit on your initial bet while the top two Mermaid symbols also offer wins for just 2 symbols landed across the reels (again though, these are small). Wins on these symbols range from 0.275x your bet up to 833.3x your bet.
The mermaids colours are the easiest way to distinguish them and they range from green to pink to purple to red to gold in terms of value, from lowest value to highest.
Wild features
The Wild symbol in the game is the Enchanted Oceans logo. This can be found across all five reels and it serves two purposes. It is used chiefly as a replacement symbol, able to replace any of the standard symbols outlined above to help create additional wins on the reels. Furthermore, any time a Wild is part of a win, then it will double the value of that win.
The only symbol the Wild cannot substitute for is the Scatter.
However, you can land the biggest single pay line jackpot prize in the game by landing five Wild symbols across the reels. This triggers a single pay line win of 1,111x your bet, which is a considerable amount for a single pay line. Some slots only offer that kind of prize if you land across all available pay lines.
Free Spins features
The key to the Free Spins bonus round is the Scatter symbol, which is the pearl. This can be landed up to five times across the reels and it offers a payout based on your bet size if you land two or more on the reels. Win amounts start from 2x your bet and increase up to 500x your bet if you can land all five across the reels.
In addition, if you land three, four or five Scatters, you will trigger the Free Spins bonus round which will see you play 15 Free Spins on the slot and during the bonus game, any win you land is trebled thanks to a 3x multiplier bonus.
Best feature of the Enchanted Oceans slot
It is pretty easy to say what the best feature of the Enchanted Oceans slot is and that is the Free Spins round. Not only does it offer a chance to play for free for 15 spins, but the wins you land in the bonus are trebled and this can result in some sizeable wins, especially if you are fortunate enough to land plenty of Wilds on the reels. The Wilds do play a key role in the base game too, helping with some good value wins on occasion, but they can be tricky to land on a regular basis.
Conclusion
There isn't really anything particularly grandiose about the Enchanted Oceans slot. At its heart, it is a pretty simple 9-pay line slot that has a Free Spins bonus and a Wild on the reels. However, the game is higher variance but does have some outstanding value wins to be had in the base game. It also pays much more than many other slots released by Microgaming over recent times, it is just more difficult to hit those wins than on lower variance slot games. If you like higher variance gaming, then this slot will tick all the right boxes for you.
