Game Changer slot comes with a unique dice bonus game

Presentation
If you can think of how a 1970s and early 1980s game show looked on television, then that is the approach that Realistic have taken with the Game Changer slot. The reels are located in the middle of the screen against a rather showy backdrop and the spin buttons are either side of the reel, you can also use an Autoplay option too.
The sound on the slot is also very fitting to the game with a gameshow type soundtrack playing as you spin the reels. The graphics are simple, but the animations are effective, and this does look like a very engaging slot.
The real twist is that how the reels spin effectively determine whether you get a shot at the real star of the show in this game, the Game Changer Feature game and how that works we will explain when we look at the main bonus features of the slot below.
What is on the reels?
There are quite a lot of different symbols on the reels, for reasons which will become clear and they are organised into four different types.
First off are the playing card low symbols, from the 10 through to the Ace. These are the lower value symbols on the reels and essentially that is the only purpose they serve in the game. The other symbols can all be part of the Game Board, which links in with the main bonus feature of the show.
The first of these symbols are the prizes. There are six of these symbols and they are the teddy bear, the teasmade, the watches, the car, the boat and lastly the jet. These symbols offer a higher win amount than the playing card low symbols.
In addition to these prize symbol there are also two other sets of symbols. Four Red symbols, Respin Reel, Double Trouble, Roll Even, Take Prize and four Blue symbols, Trail Run, Level Up!, Win All Prizes and Random Stop. These offer the highest prizes in the game but they and the prize symbols can also be used to form a Game Board which is how you access the main feature of the slot.
Wild features
The Game Changer symbol is the in game Wild and this serves two purposes, firstly, you can use it as a substitute for any of the symbols in the game to help create winning lines. You can also land the Wild completely across the reels to land some big value wins and also the largest cash prize in the base game.
The Wild is also included as one of the Game Board symbols, so it can be used to trigger the main feature, which we will explain in more detail below.
Free Spins features
Although there isn't a Free Spins bonus, there is a different feature in the Game Changer slot called the Game Changer Bonus Round. To trigger this, you need to land any of the 15 Game Change Board symbols (which is essentially all the symbols, bar the playing card low symbols) in every position around the outside of the reels.
What do we mean by the outside, well it means across the top of all five reels, across the bottom of all five reels and also all of the first and fifth reels, creating an almost letterbox shape. If you can do this with any combination of the Game Board symbols, then you will trigger the bonus round, and this is where the game really does change.
When the round triggers, the middle section of the reels are replaced with a Total Win display, showing how much you have won on the bonus game so far. In addition, any of the four red symbols are given a x3 overlaid amount. The bottom left corner symbol is the Game Changer symbol and all the prize symbols will have a multiplier value attached to them.
In addition, instead of the spin button, you will now have a Roll Dice button as now you get to play the game board you have created. Roll the die and a random number will be landed. You then move around the board in a clockwise direction. Each time you roll the dice, the symbols with an X and a number will reduce by one. Once the X symbol disappears, these symbols become active (and these are the symbols you want to avoid in the game). Once these symbols become active, if you land on one in your spin, the bonus round will end.
On other symbols, you can win different prizes depending on where you land. The amount you have won is displayed in the Total Win section in the centre of the game board. Prize symbols award from 1x to 6x your standard bet in this section of the game.
Land on the Gamechanger symbol and you will light up a letter in the GAMECHANGER title. Light all 11 letters and you can win 50x your current bet.
The Blue symbols all have different positive benefits for players, Level Up increases the symbols on the reels to the next value in the sequence. Win All Prizes will see you land all the possible prizes, including lighting up a letter on the Gamechanger board. Trail Run sees a random number of prizes from the board awarded while Random Stop will see you stop a flashing light on one of the prize symbols on the board to win that prize.
When in play the red symbols are the ones to avoid, but landing on them doesn't necessarily mean the round ends. On the Double Trouble square, you have to roll the dice. If both dice show the same number, your game ends, but if they don't you can carry on. Roll Even is a similar gamble where if you roll the dice and the combined score is an odd number, the game ends. Respin Reel will see you spin the reel that the current Game Board symbol is in. If the reel does not respin into a position that completes the game board once again, the round will end. Finally the Take Prize button does just end the round with all your current prizes won then awarded.
Best feature of the Game Changer slot
There's no doubt that the game within a game aspect of the Game Changer slot is what makes it so appealing. The slot aspect of the game is almost secondary to playing the Game Changer Bonus Round to be truthful and the game is all about triggering this bonus feature. You do need to be patient to trigger it at times and not all triggers will result in a decent win, but the Game Changer Bonus feature is a huge bonus for the slot and the real reason you will want to play this game.
Conclusion
It's rare that you get a slot game that is really innovative and Game Changer is certainly that, however it isn't a brand new concept. Many electronic slot games of the 1980s and 1990s used to contain sub-game elements that you would play once triggered and what Realistic have done is take that element and add it here and then pump it up a little. The net result is an excellent game that is fun to play and which has the chance of some sizeable prizes too. This is a game well worth a closer look if you enjoy slots that offer something a little different to the norm.
