How to get 25x more spins for your money with a MegaMoolah.com bonus offer!

You may remember last week, we posted an article wondering just how many spins you could get for your money if you signed up with a Casino Rewards casino and played solely the Mega Moolah slot games that were available on the site.

Now at the time of that article, we had not yet completed our challenge because, well frankly, we had landed many more spins than we expected to do so from our initial deposit (which was a £150 matched deposit bonus of 100%, for a maximum starter fund of £300).

However, later that week and after another few sessions on the different Mega Moolah games, I finally managed to spend almost every penny of the money I had in the account from the bonus and the final figures are now in.

How many spins did I get for my initial investment of £150?

Just to recap what we did for this investigation. We deposited £150 of cash into a new account at Villento Casino and signed up with the casino's 100% Matched Deposit bonus offer on first deposits for new players at the casino.

This gave us £300 in cash to play with at the casino when we started (although for some reason, this came out as £301 when I started the bonus and I am still not sure where that extra £1 came from to be honest!).

I then decided I was going to play the three Mega Moolah slots, Mega Vault Millionaire, Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah and the original Mega Moolah slot for £1 per spin on each of the games to ensure fairness. I would not spend any money on any of the other slot games available on the site and I would always ensure each bet was £1 per spin on any game I played.

I also used Autoplay where possible to ensure that the number of spins recorded was as accurate as possible (although this proved tricky, especially on the original Mega Moolah and Mega Vault Millionaire slots as the Autoplay feature resets when you trigger the Free Spins bonus games or Jackpot Bonus Game on these slots).

So, after several weeks of playing, here is what I managed to turn my initial deposit of £150 into in terms of spins on each of the three games and in total.

• Mega Vault Millionaire - 1,430 Spins.
• Atlantean Treasures - 1,868 Spins.
• Mega Moolah - 530 Spins.

Total Spins - 3,828 (equivalent of £3,828 worth of spins).

So just how did I manage to land around 25.5x more spins of £1.00 than I would get for just £150 deposit ordinarily?

Well essentially, every time I won on the Mega Moolah slot games I played, I just invested that money back into playing more spins and it is the amount of money that I won, alongside my £150 deposit and my £151 in bonus funds that facilitated me landing this number of spins.

What about Free Spins?

Now you may be wondering how many Free Spins I triggered in the experiment above and the good news is that I recorded these triggers also and I have not included any Free Spins triggers in the data shown above. All those spins above are spins on the base game.

There are no Free Spins bonuses on the Atlantean Treasures slot, so I did not trigger any on that game of course, but in my 530 spins on the Mega Moolah slot I triggered 30 Free Spins (2x 15 Free Spins), which was a little disappointing to be honest. However, on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot, from my 1430 spins on that slot I managed to trigger the Free Spins bonus a far more satisfying 12 times in total. Not only that, but in one Free Spins session, I landed 15 Free Spins to start with and then triggered a further additional 30 Free Spins by re-triggering the bonus in the bonus section twice. This particular Free Spins session ended up with me recording the largest single amount won during a base game session or during Free Spins, with me winning over £130 from those Free Spins alone.

The maths for this section is interesting too. With a total of 1960 spins on the Mega Moolah and Mega Vault Millionaire slots, I triggered Free Spins a total of 14 times, which means that I triggered Free Spins roughly once every 140 spins in the game.

However, as a caveat to that, I would add that how those Free Spins were won did not follow the format of play 140 spins, trigger Free Spins. Often, I would play 200, 300 or even 400 spins before triggering Free Spins. Other times, I would hit Free Spins on multiple occasions within the space of around 50 spins (I managed this on Mega Vault Millionaire in one session where I first triggered the opening Free Spins round on my third spin, hit another after around 30 spins and then another before my 50^th spin).

In addition, the amount won during Free Spins bonus rounds also varied greatly from my highest win of over £130 in that memorable triple-trigger session I mentioned beforehand, to wins of around £10 on a number of occasions.

What about the Atlantean Treasures Respins/Expanding Wilds bonus?

Of the three games I played, I played more spins on Atlantean Treasures as I felt that this slot was paying out more consistently than the other two games, despite the lack of a Free Spins bonus game. The reason why was the Expanding Wilds and Respins bonuses, plus the amounts won on the reels during a session on the game tended to be higher value than the other two slots.

In fact, Atlantean Treasures proved to be the least volatile of the three slot games I played with most of the base game wins I landed being of at least the same value as my £1 bet, or more. I did not win as large amounts on the Atlantean Treasures slot, the largest cash prize I won was just over £50 and after that single win, other big wins dropped down to around the £26 mark.

However, that is not to say that there were no frustrations with the Atlantean Treasures slot. Over my almost 2,000 spins, I cannot recall the respin bonus earning me a big win and the vast majority of respins only offered no win or a very small win. Of all the bonus elements in the three games, I felt this was the most common to trigger, but also the most disappointing in terms of return.

There was one other good reason why I played the Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah slot more often than the other games though and that is down to the very reason why we conducted this experiment in the first place. To see if we could trigger the Jackpot Bonus Game on any of the three slots with the spins we manage to muster from our starter bonus.

And the good news on that score, is that we did and more than once too.

How many Jackpot Bonus Game Triggers did we land?

In total, I triggered a shot at the Jackpot Bonus Game a total of four times on Atlantean Treasures (video) with my 3,828 £1 spins across the Mega Moolah slot. A hit rate of one trigger per 957 spins.

Somewhat oddly, despite having only trigger the Mega Moolah Jackpot Bonus Game previous to this experiment, that was the one game I did not land a trigger on as my 530 spins did not produce a single jackpot trigger on the original Mega Moolah game.

On Mega Vault Millionaire, I landed just the one jackpot trigger (video) for my 1430 spins on the slot but it proved to be a lucrative one as I landed the Minor jackpot for £100.01 on that spin. I progressed from the first wheel in the base game onto the second and then landed that Minor jackpot prize on that second wheel.

On Atlantean Treasures though, I triggered the Jackpot Bonus Game a total of 3 times across my 1868 spins on the slot, a hit ration of around once every 623 spins. Each time I only won the Mini jackpot prize for around £10, but this was by far and away the best hit rate for the Jackpot Bonus game for all three slots, although I confess that I should have perhaps played a few more spins on the original Mega Moolah slot for a fairer comparison.

So is my starter bonus value for money?

Well, as you can see from this investigation, the amount of spins the amount of your starter bonus and deposit will get you is far smaller than the actual number of spins you can play through from the cash you generate from that money. In fact, taking just my deposit of £150, I managed to get around 25.5x more spins than that cash amount would ordinarily get me (at £1 per spin).

As such, it is safe to say that if you choose to use your starter bonus to play progressive jackpot games like Mega Vault Millionaire, Mega Moolah and Atlantean Treasures, you are going to get great value for your money and many more chances to win the top prize than the actual bonus amount infers.

Can you replicate these results?

While you won't land the same results as me if you tried this experiment, as slots are random by their very nature, you will find that some repeats of this investigation may see more spins won, or fewer spins played through, depending on how each game plays.

I also must add that I wasn't going to continue the experiment if we won a significant amount of money. If this had happened, I would have stopped the experiment and withdrawn the cash that was available.

So while you could replicate these results, it is highly unlikely, so this is why we are simply saying you can get far more chances to win for your money, if you play as we did in this experiment, than simply the amount of spins your bonus and deposit would pay for.

It would be interesting too to replicate these experiments with different bet amounts. What would happen to these results if we played for 0.25 per spin, or £2 per spin, or even £5 per spin? How would that affect the number of spins we land and the amount of Free Spins and Jackpot Bonus Game triggers?

Finally, I would suggest you don't play the way we did for this experiment. Remember, it is your money you are playing with and our aim was to spend all the money we deposited, received as a bonus and then generated from this cash with winnings on the games to come up with a total figure of spins. We would always suggest you play with responsible gambling in mind and that may well mean taking an entirely different approach to what we did for the purposes of this article.
