Lighting strikes thrice in May 2020 as Mega Moolah jackpot landed again!

Back at the end of April 2020, we had seen just one winner of the Mega Moolah jackpot prize in 2020 thus far, a Canadian Dollar player who landed a fantastic prize of CA$16.4 million. However, in May 2020, the Mega Moolah jackpot has gone win crazy racking up an incredible THREE wins during the month in total.

The latest winner came on the 26th or 27^th May 2020 with the lucky player winning a prize of around CA$4.4 million. With the jackpot resetting to around 1.8 million, it does look very much like we have landed our second Canadian Dollar jackpot winner in the matter of just a few days, as this latest win comes on the back of a CA$9.9 million win on Sunday 24^th May.

These both add onto a NZ$13.6 million win that was landed on the 8^th May.

This means May 2020 will joins June 2014 as being the only months that the Mega Moolah jackpot was triggered three times in total.

Multiple wins in a month - The history

When a Mega Moolah jackpot has been won in the past, usually it is the only trigger of the jackpot prize in that month. However, there have been a number of occasions in the past where the jackpot has been triggered on two or more occasions in any given month:

As you can see, the three wins in this month mean that May 2020 is the month that has seen the Mega Moolah's Mega Jackpot pay out the most money ever in numeric terms at least. Beating the previous amount, which was around the 20.1 million mark from the single win landed in January 2019.

With three days between wins, it is also one of the shortest times in between jackpot wins We have seen the jackpot landed twice on the same day on two occasions, somewhat oddly in consecutive months in May and June 2017. There was a one-day gap between wins on the 19^th and 20^th April in 2018 and the 5^th and 6^th March in 2019. The three-day gap between the two wins on the 24^th and 27^th May come next on that particular list.

What we do know is now that the jackpot has reset to just over 1.8 million (and already climbed above 1.9 million), this means that Mega Moolah is no longer the jackpot game from Microgaming with the largest amount available to be won with the 3.7 million currently available on the Wheel of Wishes slot now holding that accolade. Even the Major Millions jackpot, at just 1.8 million, is not too far behind it.

Another incredible win for Canadian Dollar players!

If this latest win is confirmed as being in Canadian Dollars then this would represent yet another big jackpot prize for players using that currency. It is important to point out that this does not necessarily mean that the winner lives in Canada. They may well do, but they may also live elsewhere in the world and use the Canadian Dollar as their choice of currency to play the game. Fourth winner in 2020!

When confirmed, this will be the fourth winner of 2020 so far in the fifth month of the year, which almost brings the jackpot payouts back to the level of around one per month, which has been the case in both 2017 and 2019. We already have the same number of winners in 2020 now as we did in the whole of 2012, 2013 and 2016.
