Major Millions progressive slot pays out another 1 million plus jackpot!
If you are a slot player that keeps tabs on the current standings of the major progressive jackpot prizes, then you'll already know that November has already seen one big money winner landed on the Mega Moolah Jackpot.
The good fortune seems to be spreading across other popular slots as just a couple of days after that big win, another player won a million pounds plus playing the big money progressive slot Major Millions.
Just four days after the triggering of a massive Mega Moolah win on the 3rd November, one lucky player, who as yet remains unknown, decided to try their luck on the Major Millions slot, which had seen its progressive prize creep up to around £1.2m after it was last won earlier in October 2017. Little did they know that their £3 spin would lead to them becoming another of Microgaming's Millionaire winners for the year.
We've not got any details on this latest big winner as yet as it has literally only just been won, but whoever the lucky player is, they have immediately become one of the biggest ever winners on the Major Millions slot since it was first released.
What is the Major Millions slot?
The Major Millions progressive slot is not actually one game, but two. There are a 5-reel and 3-reel version of the game available to play and you can win the progressive jackpot playing either version of the game. The slots contain the same elements and symbols on the reels, but you can opt to play which type of game you prefer.
The main theme of the slot is the military and this is clearly evident by the types of symbols used on the reels which includes items such as military medals and awards, the Major's cap, a cheery aeroplane, a tank, an envelope with Top Secret written on it, a pair of binoculars, a large warship and a supply crate.
Each version of the game has a total of 15 pay lines in play and unlike the Mega Moolah progressive slot, which allows you to win the jackpot no matter how much you spend on a spin, with the Major Millions slot, you need to play all 15 pay lines on your spin to stand a chance of winning the progressive.
However, to help you afford to play all 15-lines, the total cost to spin each pay line is set at 20p which means that to stand a chance of winning the jackpot you need to wager £3 per spin. Why is this? Well this is because the only way you can land the progressive jackpot win is to land the Major Millions Wild symbol across the 15th pay line of the slot. If you do this, then the Major Millions progressive jackpot is yours.
How has Major Millions performed in 2017?
What is remarkable about the Major Millions slot this year is that between 2015 and 2016, there was only one time that the jackpot reached the magical million mark. This was won on October 26th, 2016 with a prize of 1.18 million. As these jackpots are paid out in local currencies, we cannot put a single currency on each of the wins stated here.
However, what has happened since then is that a markedly larger number of players are now playing progressive jackpot slots and that means that these jackpots are growing more quickly and also, they are being won more frequently because more players are having more spins on the slots. This has resulted in a spike in the number of millionaire winners on the Major Millions slot in 2017. So far, this year, there have been a total of six players that have won jackpots over that amount, with an even greater number of smaller jackpot winners throughout the year.
The highest jackpot was a 1.94 million prize which was won in May this year and all the other million-plus prizes have been around the 1.1 million to 1.3 million mark.
2017 - A big year for Microgaming progressive players!
What this means is that there have been six confirmed winners of the Major Millions slot that have earned prizes of over 1 million in their local currency. That is a phenomenal strike rate and massively above what has tended to be the yearly average for big money winners on that particular slot.
However, if you are also a fan of Microgaming's other big progressive jackpot slot, Mega Moolah, then you will already know that 2017 has been an incredible year for jackpot winners on that game too with there already being 10 confirmed winners of the Mega jackpot across the 11 months of the year so far. Indeed, only February has not seen a day when the Mega Moolah jackpot was triggered and made another lucky slot gamer a millionaire.
That means that from their two flagship games, Microgaming have paid out a total of 16 million-plus jackpots to lucky winners of those games alone this year. That may not do a great deal for their share price and stakeholders, but for the players that play these games each week, that is fantastic news.
And perhaps most importantly of all, there are still almost two full months of the year left and given how things have gone this year in terms of jackpot winners, it is likely that we may be celebrating at least one, if not two other big jackpot winners before the year is out, if the pattern continues.
