Mega Moolah smashes through the £10 million mark once again!

One thing is for sure, the next Mega Moolah winner will become the tenth player in the game's long history to win over 10 million in their currency, due to the fact that the Mega Moolah jackpot has crashed through the 10 million barrier over the last 24 hours.

Of course, this comes just a couple of months after the last time the jackpot reached this exciting mark back in April and May 2020, when we had two winners over 10 million within a month of each other, plus another player who landed a prize just shy of 10 million.

There is always a sense of real excitement when we land a 10 million jackpot on the Mega Moolah slot, not least because now there are three more games available you can win that prize on. So who have been the big 10 million winners in the game's history so far? Let's take a run down of the lucky winners that have landed their prize at this amount, looking in chronological order.

• 6^th October 2015 - £13.2 million win

The first ever 10 million plus winner on the Mega Moolah slot was a landmark win for lots of reasons. Not only did UK player Jon Heywood become a millionaire on a single spin of the slot, but his 2015 win of £13.2m was confirmed at the time by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest jackpot win ever landed on an online slot game.

• 17^th June 2016 - NZ$10.1 million win

With Jon Heywood's win having wiped out the Mega Moolah top jackpot prize and seen it reset back to its seed amount of £1 million, the likelihood was that you would not see another 10 million plus win on the next jackpot, but that is why the Mega Moolah slot operates under its own rules as from October 6^th after Mr Heywood's win, it grew steadily to over 10 million until the 17^th June 2016 when New Zealand restaurant worker Rawiri Pou landed another 10 million plus prize.

Mr Pou's win of NZ$10.1 million when converted into British Pounds, left a sizeable amount in the jackpot fund for the next prize and it was not too surprising that it smashed through the 10 million mark once again not just for the next winner, but the next two winners.

• 28^th August 2016 - CA$11.6 million win

Not a huge amount is known about the next couple of winners of ten million plus prizes on the Mega Moolah slot. The third big winner was a player playing in Canadian Dollars who landed a win of CA$11.6 million in August 2016. This becoming the first of what would become a steady slew of players playing Mega Moolah in Canadian Dollars to land the win.

• 5^th November 2016 - CA$11.6 million win

Strangely enough, the very next winner of the Mega Moolah jackpot was another Canadian Dollar player who landed another CA$11.6 million win (the difference being only 23 thousand dollars). This was the fourth time in a row that the jackpot had been won for over 10 million, a record which has yet to be beaten.

After this win in 2016, it would not be for another couple of years before the jackpot climbed over the 10 million mark, but when it did, it did so in spectacular style with three big jackpots one after the other.

• 28^th September 2018 - €18.9 million win

This 2018 win was not just the first Euro-based win of over 10 million, but numerically it was the largest ever win on the Mega Moolah slot at the time (although it would hold that record for only a few short months). This win was close to the Guinness World Record win in terms of comparative value between the currencies, but an even bigger surprise was to follow a few months later,

• 30^th January 2019 - CA$20 million win

Few people thought after the win in September 2018, that the Mega Moolah top progressive prize would climb beyond that incredible 18.9 million mark any time soon, but in January 2019 it did precisely that and at the end of the month, one lucky Canadian Dollar player landed the largest ever numerical win on the slot, taking home CA$20 million.

This remains the only 20 million plus jackpot won on the Mega Moolah slot although when converted into British Pounds, it's actual relative value wasn't quite as high as Jon Heywood's first £13.2 million win back in 2015.

• 5^th March 2019 - US$12.9 million win

Although the CA$20 million plus win was a huge one, when converted into British Pounds to be paid out, it still left a hefty amount of money in the fund for the next winner and it wasn't too surprising that the next winner of the jackpot prize, which came just over a month later, was also a winner of over 10 million. That player played in US Dollars and took home a prize of $12.9 million.

There would then be a break of just over a year before the jackpot climbed to over 10 million once again, doing so in the early months of 2020.

• 5^th April 2020 - CA$16.4 million win

The eighth big 10 million plus winner came in April 2020 when the jackpot had climbed markedly since its last trigger, which came at the end of December 2019. In those four months, the jackpot rose well over 10 million and beyond 15 million. Before a Canadian Dollar player landed a prize of CA$16.5 million in the evening of the 5^th April 2020.

An interesting note, of the eight wins up to this date, three of them had been triggered on the 5^th of a month. Once again, with this win being a Canadian Dollar win, it meant there was still plenty left in the prize pool for the next jackpot prize.

• 8^th May 2020 - NZ$13.6 million win

The ninth and most recent 10 million plus winner landed on the 8^th May 2020, when one lucky New Zealand Dollar player landed the highest ever win in that currency of NZ$13.6. The second win of 2020 and also the second win of over 10 million in that year too.

Sadly, we would just miss out on a third 10 million plus winner in a row as the jackpot was triggered just 16 days later on the 24^th May for CA$9.9 million.

However, with the jackpot now over 10 million, we are now guaranteed that the next winner will take home another 10 million jackpot prize. The only questions remaining are where it will be won, when and who by.
