Mega Vault Millionaire slot: What are the four progressive jackpots?
After seeing ten players land big money Major jackpot prizes in October 2019, Mega Vault Millionaire has most certainly arrived and arrived on the online casino scene with a bang.
This Casino Rewards exclusive slot has proven to be extremely popular with players over its first month of operation and there's no doubt that it is going to be a smash hit success heading into the future.
We are pretty sure that the first Mega Jackpot winner on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot is going to come very soon!
In this article, we are going to explore the game's biggest and most appealing feature, it's four progressive jackpot prizes and how they link in with the current Mega Moolah games, which includes the original Mega Moolah, and three other Mega Moolah themes sharing the same mega-sized jackpots.
I should add at this point that this article is aimed primarily at users who are new to playing any of the Mega Moolah-linked progressive slots, including the new Mega Vault Millionaire game, or players who have only played for the jackpot on older slot games and who are new to Mega Vault Millionaire.
So let's begin with a quick recap of what Mega Vault Millionaire is, before we explain how the progressive jackpot system works across all games in the Mega Moolah jackpot network.
What is Mega Vault Millionaire?
For a more in depth look at the Mega Vault Millionaire, you can take a look at our exclusive in depth review of the game, but a quick synopsis of the game is that it is a 5x3 reel slot game with 25 fixed pay lines in play on each spin. Spins cost from as little as 0.25 up to 6.25 per spin.
The game is based on wealth and the items you would keep inside a bank vault (hence the name) and there is a top prize of 600x your bet available to be won in the base game. The game features a Wild symbol (an ornate jewellery box) that applies a 2x multiplier to any win that it is part of, as well as a Free Spins bonus game.
To land Free Spins, you need three or more of the Faberge Egg Scatter symbols to land across the reels. You receive a pay out from 2x to 100x based on how many Scatters landed and if you land three or more you get 15 Free Spins with a 3x multiplier on every win you land during the bonus. You can also re-trigger Free Spins from within the bonus game.
Of course, in addition to this basic game, there is also the fact that on every spin on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot, you could win a life-changing amount of money thanks to the fact that it is linked to the same Mega Moolah jackpot prize pools as the other Mega Moolah games in the series.
Explaining the progressive jackpots for Mega Vault Millionaire and Mega Moolah
The first thing to note is that the system used for the Mega Vault Millionaire progressive jackpots is exactly the same one as used in all the other Mega Moolah slots, but what do we mean by that?
Well, that means that every time you play a spin on Mega Vault Millionaire, a small proportion of your bet goes towards the progressive jackpot fund in the game. Every single spin on Mega Vault Millionaire, Mega Moolah, Mega Moolah Isis, Mega Moolah Summertime and Mega Moolah 5-Reel Drive all pay the same percentage of stake into the progressive prize fund.
Or rather, there are four prize funds because there is not just one jackpot part of the Mega Moolah network, but rather there are four. Please note the figures below are used as very rough guides only, each progressive can pay out very different amounts, often outside the scale shown.
- Mini - This is the smallest jackpot prize and this usually awards wins from around 8 - 10 in your chosen currency.
- Minor - This is the second smallest jackpot prize and this awards the players with wins ranging from around 70-100 in your chosen currency.
- Major - This is where the prizes in the network start to increase in size rapidly as wins on the Major jackpot range from around 10,000 up to 25,000 usually, although there can be instances when players can win considerably more than this amount.
- Mega- This is the holy grail of jackpot wins on the Mega Moolah network of games. The Mega jackpot is guaranteed to be at least 1,000,000 and it can climb much higher than that (the largest amount paid out in a single jackpot prize, in terms of numerical value was a jackpot prize of over CA$20 million, won in January 2019.
So we now know how the four different jackpot prizes are funded and what they are and their relative values. So the question now is, how can you win them? And this is where things take a little turn as on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot, you have a different way to win your jackpot prize compared to the other slots part of the Mega Moolah network.
Winning the Jackpots - What is different on Mega Vault Millionaire?
On the older Mega Moolah games, the jackpot bonus game was randomly triggered on a qualifying spin and then you spun a single wheel, which was populated with different coloured segments. Whatever colour segment you landed on that corresponded to the jackpot of the same colour, meant that you won that jackpot.
Of course, you would see the Mini and Minor jackpots won far more frequently than the Major and Mega, but these larger prizes would also be won from time to time.
For the new Mega Vault Millionaire slot, the jackpot bonus game is still triggered entirely at random from within the base game (and it is important to note that you have the same chance of triggering the bonus regardless of what game you play. A 0.25 spin on Mega Vault Millionaire has the same chance of triggering the bonus as a 0.25 spin in Mega Moolah, Isis, Summertime or 5-Reel Drive).
Once triggered though, the bonus game on Mega Vault Millionaire is different. Instead of one reel, you can spin, potentially, three wheels by using a simple process.
The first wheel that everyone who lands a chance to play the bonus game has two sectors on it. You will either win the Mini jackpot prize, or you will win a chance to move onto the second wheel.
If you get a chance to spin the second wheel, then you will see a different wheel with different sectors. The majority of space on the wheel is taken up by the slot which would see you win the Minor jackpot prize. However, if you land on the other sector, you then get a chance to spin the third and final wheel.
This third wheel is the exciting one as you know you are going to win a very decent prize as there are just two options on the reel. The majority of the wheel is taken up by sectors that will see you win the Major jackpot prize (which is a not inconsiderable sum) with a small section available for that massive Mega jackpot prize.
The good news is, the more wheels you spin, the greater the size of the jackpot that you will win on Mega Vault Millionaire, similar to unlocking different vaults to get to the greater value items in a bank.
Are all four Jackpots paid out the same?
When Microgaming founded Mega Moolah, they were determined to produce a slot which paid players the said amount, and fast and they have adhered to these rules for their game. Smaller value wins on the Mini and Minor jackpots are paid instantaneously, as are Major jackpot prizes.
For Mega jackpot wins, the casino will need to perform a couple of checks to ensure your win was a genuine one and that you are the genuine account holder. Once these checks are complete, you can then decide whether you want to go public with your win and you will receive your prize, in full, a short time thereafter.
