Microgaming reveal extensive release schedule for new slots
After a barnstorming ICE London 2020, Microgaming have officially released news of a frankly astonishing release schedule of games for the coming year, with the Isle of Man-based company promising its users more than 100 exclusive titles to be released over the course of the year, in addition to 240 games from its partners.
Several of these new games, including the eagerly awaited Game of Thrones Power Stacks slot, the sequel to the smash hit Game of Thrones slot that was released a few years back, as well as the exciting and original deadmau5 branded online slot, were previewed heavily at ICE London 2020 and there is no doubt that fans were impressed with the quality and quantity of games on display from Microgaming and its partners.
Progressives still to feature big in 2020
If you are a fan of progressive jackpot games then the great news is that 2020 has already been a massive hit with the release of the Mega Moolah-powered Atlantean Treasures slot being a smash hit success, while the brand new Wheel of Wishes slot, with its 2 million seeded top progressive jackpot prize, has also gone on general release in the past few days.
Indeed, with Major Millions slot now offering its first ever 2 million plus jackpot prize, and the King Cashalot slot also just 30,000 away from crashing through the million mark, I don't think I have ever witnessed a time when so many Microgaming progressives have such an abundance of funds available to play for.
However, the exciting news for progressive jackpot fans is that 2020 promises to be a massive year for Microgaming as the company continues to give its progressive jackpot line up of games a massive refresh.
First up, there is the new Sisters of Oz slot from Triple Edge Studios on the horizon. This slot is not just a sequel to Triple Edge's previous release for Microgaming, Book of Oz slot, but this new game will also be linked to the new Wowpot progressive jackpot prize that is available on the Wheel of Wishes slot.
That is not the only slot game that will be featuring the four progressive jackpots available as part of the Wowpot series of games. Along with Wheel of Wishes and Sisters of Oz, by the end of 2020 you will also be able to play for this big money jackpot on the forthcoming Fortunium Gold slot from Stormcraft Studios.
This new game will once again feature Victoria and Maximillian, the stars of the original steampunk themed Fortunium slot as it is a direct sequel of that popular release.
However, it is not just the Wowpot progressive slot that is getting a new game, fresh on the heels of the release of Mega Vault Millionare slot across Casino Rewards Network casinos and the general release of the Atlantean Treasures slot, the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot is going to see at least one more release in 2020.
This game will also be developed by Triple Edge Studios, who seem to have become the go-to company for Microgaming when it comes to games linked to their top progressive jackpot prizes. The game will be called Absolootly Mad and although details about the game are sketchy at the present moment in time, we do know for sure that it will offer players a chance to land that hugely popular Mega Moolah Mega progressive jackpot prize, which currently stands at just shy of 8 million!
Busy year for development studios
Based on a press release following the success of ICE London 2020, it looks like being a very busy year for the development studios affiliated with Microgaming too. As well as their two progressive jackpot linked slots, Triple Edge Studios are also said to be working on another standard slot game, called Attack on Retro, which is believed to be based in the 1990s.
Just For The Win have produced a number of key games for Microgaming over the years and they are one of the companies that are set to be busy over the next 12 months as they have at least three new games slated for release across the year. Aurora Beast Hunter, which is said to be another 1990s themed game, is set to be their first release any time soon, and this is set to be followed by two other slot games Treasure Skyland and Anderthals, details of which will be revealed more fulsomely near the release date.
With new sequel Fortunium, Game of Thrones and Book of Oz slots on the horizon, we are also set to see another famous face from the past return with Microgaming set to release their second Tarzan slot, after agreeing a renewed deal with ERB.Inc for the rights to the famous jungle denizen. The new slot will be called Tarzan and the Jules of Opar which is currently in development with Fortune Factory Studios and which promises to be one of the most innovative slots of the year.
Two other studios with titles also penned in for release this year are Neon Valley Studios and Gameburger Studios. The former has already seen the massive smash hit success of its first release of the year, Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah, but it also has been working on a second game for release later in the year called Age of Conquest.
Similarly, Gameburger Studios are set to unveil two more games over the course of the year with the 9 Pots of Gold slot possibly linked, or at least inspired by their previous release 9 Masks of Fire slot, while the 11 Champions Golden Goal promises to be a football-themed slot and the first of its kind for a little while. My guess is that we may see the release of this football slot in time for the start of the Euro 2020 tournament taking place in Europe this summer.
All41 Studios also have a couple of games in the pipeline with the likes of Arena of Gold and Mayan Eagle set to join its popular releases Magic of Sahara slot and Book of Atem slot. Foxium also have a couple of slots being readied to release this year such as 3 Tiny Goods and Cossacks: Wild Hunt.
There's also the continuing reworking of Microgamings casino table games by Switch Studios to look forward too, with a brand new version of the popular dice game Sic Bo slated for release some time in the year.
Incredibly, all the games mentioned here make up just a small fraction of the full release schedule for Microgaming and its partners and one thing is for certain, 2020 could well change the face of slot gaming for players moreso than any other year since the advent of the Internet.
With so many great games to look forward to, which one are you looking forward to playing the most?
