Microgaming to showcase a wild October 2020 of new slot releases
It is around October time that our thoughts start to turn to the winter ahead and we start to think about celebrations such as Halloween and, in the United Kingdom, Bonfire Night, which for those of you that don't know occurs on the 5th November and commemorates the "Gunpowder Plot", where a group of people, led by Guy Fawkes, tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament but were thwarted by guards.
Of course, not far off on the horizon after those dates is December, the real midwinter period and Christmas time, but for now we are still in the autumn time, when days are growing shorter, trees shed their leaves and rain tends to fall most days. Alongside that, we also have a stack of exciting new releases to look forward to from Microgaming, their exclusive studio partners and its network of content partners.
And there is a distinctly 'wild' feature to many of the releases this month which includes a brand new progressive, the next game in a much loved licensed series of slots, plus an exclusive Microgaming Casino-only preview of Big Time Gaming's brand new slot too.
So let's begin our look through October's offerings by taking a look at a slot which is a break from the usual type of progressive jackpot game that Microgaming offers and which hit casinos this past week.
- 6th October - African Legends (Slingshot Studios)
We have already given you our in depth review and real cash play-through video of this new progressive jackpot slot from Slingshot Studios, so you can find plenty more information in those articles. However, this 5x3 reel slot game offers 243 Ways to Win across the reels and the ever-popular Rolling Reels feature in play in all the different sections of the slot.
What makes the game so intriguing, and unusual, is that it is linked to just one of the four Wowpot Progressive Jackpot prizes, the £50,000 seeded second largest prize on the network, the Wowpot Major jackpot.
That is not to be sniffed at as the African Legends slot has, according to Microgaming's latest figures paid out over €16 million in prize money over the course of the year so far. With a novel way to win the jackpot prize, four different Free Spins bonus rounds, each with an increasing value of Multiplier and the random bonus feature Wild Blast adding Wilds to the reel, it is going to be interesting to see whether this beast of the African plain has real bite over the next few months.
- 13th October - Western Gold (Just For The Win)
If you are going to mosey on down to your Mega Moolah casino of choice this October then from the 13th of the month, you'd better make sure that you have your six-shooter and trusty steed with you thanks to the release of the new Just For The Win title, Western Gold.
The game has already had a small release in a limited number of casinos and it has proven to be a big success with players and it offers 40-lines across the five reels as well as high volatility gaming. With a fantastic blues-themed soundtrack, the game really draws you in to its whip crack sharp ambiance.
Featuring a number of bonus features such as Scatter Pay horseshoe symbols, Golden Wild symbols and a chance to win some sizeable prizes in a generous Free Spins bonus, you will be able to try this latest western-themed slot from the middle of October.
- 15th October - 777 Royal Wheel (Pulse 8 Studios)
The middle week of October promises to be a very busy one for Microgaming with a second game due to hit casinos this week in the shape of Pulse 8 Studios latest release 777 Royal Wheel. It's been a little while since we had a new Pulse 8 Studios game, the last being February 2020's release of Lucky Twins Jackpot but their other titles Relic Seekers and Treasures of Lion City have been high quality games.
This new slot is a classic-styled game which offers a 5x3 reel slot which features a random Wild Reel in the game and the chance to earn respins. Trigger the bonuses at the most optimum level and you could land a big money win thanks to a 24x Wild Multiplier.
- 20th October - Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar (Gameburger Studios)
The stunning graphics and engaging gameplay, not to mention the sizeable cash prizes on offer were part of what made the first Tarzan slot game such a success for Microgaming. Having acquired the rights to Edgar Rice Burrough's most famous hero, that first game was a very strong opener for the company and later this month, the sequel, Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, is set to swing in casinos, probably with that familiar jungle call!
Based on an 1918 novel of the same name, this is a high volatility game that is a five reel slot that offers a top prize of up to 5,000x your standard bet. You can also earn up to 30 Free Spins when you get a chance to spin the Free Spins wheel of the Priestess La and if she's feeling generous, she may offer you up to 10x the standard value win as a multiplier.
Microgaming briefly revealed this slot back at ICE 2020 and it is fair to say that it has been one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the year and you will be able to play it in Microgaming Casinos from the 20th October.
- 27th October - Wanted Outlaws (All41 Studios)
We are not done with the theme of the Wild West just yet for October as All41 Studios have been busy beavering away on their latest creation and in the high-volatility Wanted Outlaws slot, the game will take us back to the big skies and cactus strewn deserts once again.
This will be the second game that will feature the new Nobleways feature that was first showcased on the Mayan Eagle slot back in June 2020. This new game will feature a 5x5 reel set and offers a guaranteed 3,125 ways to win on every spin in the game.
Access the Free Spins bonus and you could earn up to 200x your bet thanks to the special Wanted Poster symbols in the bonus round. With high volatility once again and a dynamic outlook, Wanted Outlaws will be the final release of a busy month that also sees a number of other games released through Microgaming's content aggregator partners.
Content aggregator releases
As well as the big releases outlined above, Microgaming will also be releasing a number of new games through their content partners which now includes companies like Oryx, Eyecon and Big Time Gaming after deals announced over the past month or so.
Some of those new releases include Aquatic Treasures by Gold Coin Studios, Eyecon's cutesy-sounding Fluffy Favourites and a trio of games from Big Time Gaming including Royal Mint, The Final Countdown and lastly the Chocolates slot, which will be specially previewed as an exclusive on Microgaming Casinos from the 12th October ahead of its general release later in the year.
With plenty of top quality releases to enjoy, October looks like being another excellent month for Microgaming customers and remember too to check back in November for our review of all the big October releases and to discover which was out Game of the Month and why.
