More details emerge about the latest Mega Moolah winner
The Mega Moolah jackpot has now crept up to just over the 3.6 million mark and as we head towards Christmas, there is a possibility that we could hit the 4+ million mark on or around Christmas Day.
The reason for that is because the jackpot has grown from its minimum £1 million seeding amount, after the last lucky winner landed their prize back on November 8th 2019.
As is the way with many of these wins, it can take a casino time to work through all the due processes required before making further details about any win public, so this explains why it is almost eight weeks later that we finally have a bit more meat on the bone about this particular win, the 11th Mega Moolah top jackpot winner of 2019.
What do we know about November's winner?
To be honest, there's not a great deal more information available about the winner than what we revealed in our news item revealing that there had been another big winner. We published that the day after the jackpot was confirmed on the 8th November.
The total amount won by the player, was £2,772,916.45, which if you translate that into Euros, equates to a win of €3,252,353.70. We also know, as we suspected, that the lucky winner has decided to remain anonymous following their win.
What we can now confirm is that the winner in November landed their win at a relatively new online casino called Genesis Casino, which is owned by Genesis Global Ltd, a company which was founded back in 2014 with the aim of bringing top quality online games to people in the UK and beyond.
We also know that this latest winner was the 11th such winner of the Mega Moolah jackpot of 2019, just two behind the record-breaking year of 2017, which saw a total of 13 Mega Moolah jackpots claimed in the 12 months from January 1st to December 31st. if there are no more winners before we reach 2020 (and even if there is), this will mean that 2019 was the second most successful year in terms of the number of Mega Moolah jackpots paid out in the game's history.
Speaking about the lucky winner who landed their prize back in November, Microgaming's Chief Operating Officer Andrew Clucas commented:
"Congratulations to Genesis Casino and the lucky winner on this truly life-changing win. Mega Moolah has once again delivered an amazing payout. Our industry-leading progressive jackpot network has now paid out €1.1 billion and continues to lead the way, offering players thrilling and rewarding gameplay experiences."
Following on from that the CEO at Genesis Casino Ariel Reem also made the following remarks:
"We're ecstatic for the player on their massive win on the Mega Moolah jackpot! It's been a thrilling rid, but one lucky player had to strike - congratulations from everyone at Genesis Casino! We look forward to seeing many more winners on our platform."
Microgaming progressive network 2019 stats and figures
Looking at the Microgaming progressive network as a whole this year, what is remarkable is that November was the 13th anniversary of the release of the Mega Moolah slot. Admittedly, the Mobile version was released a little later than that, but over that time since 2006, the network has paid out over a billion euros to players across the games in its network.
Paying particular attention to 2019 now, so far in the year the progressive jackpot network at Microgaming has paid out over €121 million across over 1.7 million recorded jackpot wins.
Now of course, that makes it sound like every jackpot win was only worth about £8, but of course, a massive number of those wins were triggers of the very small Mini Jackpot prize on the Mega Moolah slot, while others comprised of smaller jackpots on the Minor jackpot prize, which tends to amount to between €70 and €100 in value.
However, on a more positive note, 11 players have landed jackpots on the Mega Moolah slot during the year, with over €50 million in total in winnings paid out.
What is incredible is that over 570 players have pocketed wins of €10,000 or more across the network, which explains why Microgaming progressives are some of the most sought after and popularly played games you can find online today.
Mega Vault Millionaire arrives with a new jackpot game
2019 was another big year in another way for Microgaming as it has now released another game that allows access to the Mega Jackpot. That game is of course, Mega Vault Millionaire and unlike other games part of the network, this is only available at Casino Rewards casinos.
What was unusual about this new slot is that it awarded the Mega Moolah jackpot prizes in a different way than the other Mega Moolah games, by way of a new bank vault-themed bonus feature. The feature, which still randomly triggers in the base game, sees players spin one or more wheels to try and either win a jackpot prize or progress onto the next wheel.
The more wheels you progress to, the larger the jackpot prize you can win, with the first wheel offering a chance to win the Mini jackpot, the second a chance to win the Major while on the third you will win either the Major or the Mega jackpot prize.
This is a very different method to the single Jackpot Bonus Wheel game that was the standard on the other Mega Moolah slots, although your chances of hitting each of the jackpots remain the same across both bonus games.
Other facts and figures from 2019
- After adding the 11 jackpot winners of 2019 to the data, the most popular month for Mega Moolah wins since the game began in 2006 is June, which has nine confirmed jackpot wins, just one ahead of May with eight.
- The most unlucky months for Jackpot wins are unsurprisingly February and, more surprisingly, July, both of which have seen just two jackpot winners over the years.
- There are three dates that have seen more than one jackpot winner awarded on the Mega Moolah slot. May 22nd, June 19th both have seen two wins, but the luckiest day to play Mega Moolah is November 15th as we have had three winners confirmed on that date.
- There is just one hour slot when the Mega Moolah jackpot has not been triggered in a typical 24-hour day since the game began. That period, surprisingly, is the time from 10am to 11am. The most popular time for winners has been from 8pm to 9pm, which has seen 7 winners in total over the years.
2019 has been a huge year for big jackpot winners like November's lucky UK-based Mega Moolah millionaire, we think that 2020 promises to be an even more exciting year.
