New Mega Moolah slots on the way as the Mega Jackpot hits 14 million!

Yesterday saw confirmation of some massive news from Microgaming with the announcement that not only had their progressive jackpot network paid out over 115 million in prizes in the year 2020 so far alone, but that its entire network since inception has now paid out 1.2 billion.

As big as that news was, it was eclipsed by the information that there were FIVE new progressive jackpot slot games set for release over the next few months, including two for the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network to add to the recent releases Mega Vault Millionaire, Atlantean Treasures and Absolootly Mad.

Let's begin by taking a look first at how the Microgaming Progressive Network has performed in 2020.

Microgaming Progressive Network millionaire wins in 2020

If we look at the number of total million-plus wins across the Microgaming Progressive Network in 2020, we discover that there have been seven big money winners. We are all well aware of the four Mega Moolah triggers, one in April and then three in May 2020, which we have reported on both at the time and in subsequent articles.

However, there have also been three more big million-plus winners on other games. Major Millions has paid out all of those winners, one in June for just over a million and then one on July for around 1.2 million and the first one of the year came back in March which was the largest prize so far of over 1.6 million.

Across those seven wins alone on the two games, the Microgaming progressive jackpot network has paid out over 30 million in different currencies to seven new millionaire players.

If you look at lower value wins, Microgaming has reported that over 550+ prizes of 10,000 or more have been awarded in 2020 and since the 1st January 2020 up to the 1st August 2020, a total of €115,418,328 in total prizes had been paid out across all progressive jackpot games on the Microgaming network, taking the total amount paid out to players on the network since it began to an incredible €1.2 billion.

CEO John Coleman of Microgaming stated in a press release:

"With total lifetime payouts exceeding €1.2 billion, Microgaming's progressive jackpot network has had an outstanding year to date, driven by a number of new game releases, including Wheel of Wishes, Atlantean Treasures and Absolootly Mad. We look forward to building on this momentum over the coming months, hosting more feature-rich games that feed into our leading jackpots, which have paid out over €115 million across 2,571,389 jackpots so far this year, that's more than eight payouts every minute on average!"

New progressives jackpot slots set for release soon!

However, some of the most exciting news in the press release came at the very end of the document where Microgaming revealed that a number of new progressive jackpot slot games are set to be released onto the network over the next few months.

The company have confirmed that Triple Edge Studios are working on a new game linked to the new Wowpot Jackpot prize called Sisters Of Oz, which we had known about for some time. We also knew another Wowpot linked game was on the horizon but rather than Fortunium Gold as many had expected, it turns out that the new Wowpot slot will be based on All41 Studios release from a few months back Book of Atem and it will be called simply Book of Atem Wowpot!

Furthermore, another slot is set to be released in October called African Legends from Slingshot Studios that is linked to the Wowpot Major Jackpot prize (which is seeded at a minimum of £50,000).

So there now appears to be two slots coming that offer you a shot at all four Wowpot Jackpot prizes, plus one that offers you a shot at the Major prize, which would expand the current Wowpot network to four titles by the end of the year.

However, for those of you chasing that 14 million Mega Moolah jackpot prize, there is also some very exciting news. Buoyed by the successful release of Mega Vault Millionaire, Atlantean Treasures and most recently Absolootly Mad, Microgaming have now confirmed that there are two more Mega Moolah linked slots set to be released this year!

The first of these is the aforementioned Fortunium Gold by Stormcraft Studios, which had been previewed earlier in the year but which many people, myself included, would feature the Wowpot progressive prize. Instead, the game will be linked to the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot as will the second game that has just been announced, the Just For The Win produced Juicy Joker.

So far, little is known about either of these forthcoming new releases, but as soon as we have more details about them, we will bring you it right here!

Mega Moolah climbs to 14 million!

Given the excitement generated by the press release confirming those new games, it is perhaps understandable that within that whirlwind of excitement for slots players, many of them may have missed the news that the Mega Moolah jackpot has now climbed past the 14 million mark in the last 24 hours or so.

There have been two winners who have landed their prize at the 13 million mark. The first was the record-busting win by Jon Heywood in October 2015 for £13.2 million and then in May this year, one New Zealand Dollar player landed their own prize of NZ$13.6 million.

What this means is that if the jackpot can rise past that second win then it would be guaranteed to be at least the fourth largest win ever on the Mega Moolah slot. The third biggest win is a prize of CA$16.4 million which was claimed back in April this year, in what was the very first win of 2020.

However, it still has some way to go to challenge the biggest ever win on the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network as this was a win of over CA$20 million landed back in January 2019. That win remains the only 20 million-plus win ever achieved on the slot so far.

It is a hugely exciting time for progressive jackpot fans with a clutch of new games set for release over the remainder of 2020. For now, why not check out the Mega Moolah games available today to see if you could be the next big money winner, 14 million plus to be exact, on the progressive jackpot network that has already paid out over 115 million to customers this year!
