New Zealand player takes the 2019 New Year Mega Moolah win!
We wondered if 2019 still had one final Mega Moolah winner in store for us and in truth, it has been a little while since we brought you news of the last big winner, who landed their 2.7 million prize back on 8th November.
However, on the 30th December one lucky player saw the Jackpot Bonus Game click onto that life-changing single sector to claim a massive 4,966,561.64 prize!
As always, news about the winner at this early juncture is slim but there are a couple of things that we can fathom out. Given what the jackpot prize reset back to (which was around 2.5 million) we know that the winner didn't land their prize with either British Pound, the US Dollar or Euro as their main currency.
This leaves us with another Canadian dollar winner a possibility, but the amounts didn't quite tally up with the exchange rates, however the currency that did best fit the win is the New Zealand Dollar and so it seems that we are now celebrating what will be the fifth winner of the jackpot prize to land their win in this particular currency.
New Zealand winners and Mega Moolah
If confirmed as correct, then this latest lucky winner becomes the fifth New Zealand Dollar player to land the biggest jackpot prize on the Mega Moolah slot. Their win, just shy of 5 million New Zealand Dollars, puts them firmly in the middle of the list of winners using that currency.
- NZ$10,144,395.82
- NZ$8,332,554.01
- NZ$4,966,561.64
- NZ$1,599,752.50
- NZ$1,062,335.92
Oddly enough, the first winner from New Zealand was the smallest amount on the list above, and one of the smallest in terms of comparative value, of all Mega Moolah jackpot wins. This player won their NZ$1.062 million prize way back on t he 10th May 2013 to become the very first player to claim a prize in the currency.
It would be three more years before the next New Zealand based player would land a prize, but it would be worth the wait for fast-food worker Rawiri Pou, who claimed the largest prize ever awarded in the currency, landing a massive NZ$10.1 million prize in June 2016.
Mr Pou was one of the few winners to go public with their win and promised to spend some of his newly acquitted wealth spoiling his family.
Twelve months later, almost to the exact same day, the third New Zealand Dollar winner was announced when one player landed a NZ$1.5 million prize on the 19th June 2016, and this win was remarkable as it was just the first win of the day, as just a short time later, an Australian Dollar player landed the prize of just over a million Australian dollars on the self-same day.
June certainly seems to be a popular month for New Zealanders to win the Mega Moolah prize as the next winner in New Zealand dollars, for the third time in a row, landed their prize in June, this time on the 24th June 2018, with the lucky winner pocketing the second highest jackpot awarded in the currency of over NZ$8.33 million.
And to cap it all, we have just seen the latest winner in any year since Mega Moolah began land the fifth New Zealand Dollar jackpot, with the win on the 30th December 2019 eclipsing the previous record for the latest win in a year by 12 days, which was landed on the 18th December 2017.
Incredible 2019 for Mega Moolah players
This latest winner caps what has been an incredible year for Mega Moolah winners. This latest winner means that we have seen a total of 12 winners throughout 2019, that is just one fewer winner than the highest total of winners in a single year, which was the 13 winners landed back in 2017.
The year began with the largest ever numerical amount won by a player on the Mega Moolah slot, when one Canadian Dollar player landed the first ever 20 million-plus prize, taking home CA$20,059,287.27 on the 30th January 2019.
Unsurprisingly, that was the biggest win of the year, with only one other win, a US$12.9 million-plus win in March, reaching over the 10 million mark or more.
We saw winners in January, March (twice), May (twice), June, August, September (twice), October, November and December in 2019, with only February, April and July not seeing the jackpot prize tripped at least once.
In terms of currencies, Canadian Dollar players landed the most wins in the year with a total of six triggers of the 12 in 2019. Second, surprisingly, were winners in Great British Pounds, who won four times over the course of the year. We have also had one winner each landing their prize in US Dollars and New Zealand Dollars.
The shortest time in 2019 between jackpot wins was just over a day between the 5th and 6th March 2019, while the longest wait between wins was just over two months which occurred between January 30th and March 5th and also between March 6th and May 4th.
And if those dozen winners are not enough, 2019 was also the year that we saw a brand new game released that offered Casino Rewards casino customers the chance to win the Mega Jackpot prize in a different way. That game was the eagerly anticipated Mega Vault Millionaire slot, which features a brand new bonus game, which still offers you the same chance to win the massive prize as the original Mega Moolah slot.
So before we say goodbye to an incredible year for our lucky Mega Moolah progressive jackpot winners, it is worth noting that 2020 could be even more special too with a new release scheduled for early in the year of the Wheel of Wishes slot, which is promising a progressive jackpot fund seeded at 2 million!
There's no doubt that this new game, which somehow works off a revamped version of the old WowPot slot's progressive jackpot, will be eagerly anticipated by all the lucky players of the Mega Moolah and Mega Vault Millionaire slots this year and all we know is that some of them will be lucky enough to join the 'millionaires club' just as this last lucky winner of 2019 has done!
