PokerStars looks to Mega Moolah to spruce up its new online casino

Although the name may be synonymous with the poker community, ever since Amaya Gaming bought the rights to the PokerStars name, diversification beyond offering a high quality poker room was always likely to be amongst the companies priorities.

So it proved with the release a couple of years ago of two new PokerStars gambling sites, PokerStars Casino and what was originally Poker Stars Sport, which has since become BetStars.

Since then PokerStars Vegas has also been added to the portfolio of sites and all this means that in order to keep improving its range of sites to its customers, PokerStars needed to ensure a supply of high quality casino and slot games, such as the world's most popular progressive jackpot game Mega Moolah.

To that end, the company have now reached a deal with Microgaming to host the company's huge range of high quality games via the Quickfire platform on its family of PokerStars sites.

The deal was announced back in February, but it has taken until now for PokerStars to fully integrate the Quickfire platform to run the myriad of Microgaming slots available. However, through this deal, PokerStars has now added the largest progressive jackpot network in the industry to its roster as well as an incredible portfolio of games, also the largest in the online gaming industry.

Director of PokerStars Casino Operations Bo Wänghammar stated:

"We are very pleased that our players now have access to some of the most popular games in the online casino industry, further strengthening our existing product offering.

"The partnersip, alongside bespoke games developed by PokerStars, will help provide our customers with the best online gaming experience that can't be found elsewhere. We look forward to further expanding with Microgamign in the near future."

Andrew Clucas, the current Director of Quickfire at Microgaming was equally effusive in his excitement at the partnership now going live:

"It's a great achievement to see Quickfire live on Pokerstars" he stated.

"They are a renowned gaming brand with a huge player base and we believed Microgaming content is the perfect fit for their casino customers.

"We will continue to work closely with PokerStars as they look to grow their games portfolio through Quickfire; this will be a long and fruitful relationship for both parties."

What does this deal mean for PokerStars customers?

This new deal and the release of Microgaming's vast catalogue of slot games and casino games on the PokerStars platform now means that customers of the site have never had a broader or more exciting range of slots to play. Microgaming have an almost unparalleled selection of slot games, including some bonafide classics, which will now find a home at PokerStars Casino.

Past releases that PokerStars players should look out to play include some of the biggest games of recent times including the incredible Thunderstruck II slot, which has over a one million coin jackpot available to be won, the hugely popular Immortal Romance slot, the beautiful Ariana and the sequel to the popular Break Da Bank slot, Break Da Bank Again.

Over the coming months an increasing number of newer games from Microgaming will also be released on the site including the likes of the Lost Vegas slot, Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Mermaid Millions to name but three.

However, it is access to the largest progressive jackpot slot network in online casino gaming that potentially offers PokerStars customers something completely different to the norm. That is because for the first time since the site was launched, PokerStars customers can now play the game that has made more millionaires from a slot game than any other, the world famous Mega Moolah slot.

What's the big fuss about Mega Moolah on PokerStars?

When you consider that PokerStars customers will be gaining access to a number of top progressive jackpot games such as King CashalotMajor Millions and Caribbean Draw Poker to name but three, why is the arrival of the Mega Moolah slot on the platform such a big deal?

The answer to that is simply that over the years, no slot has paid out more massive jackpots than Mega Moolah and no slot has become the world's most popular jackpot slot game, where every spin, regardless of how much you wager, could see you be the lucky player to land a minimum one million pound progressive jackpot prize.

The jackpot has been triggered four times already in 2017, in January, March, April and May awarding prizes of €6m, €6.6m, €8m and €3.7m respectively. The slot also set the world record for the highest ever progressive jackpot prize won on an online slot back in October 2015, when Jon Heywood, from Crewe in the UK won over £13.2m playing the slot, to set a brand new and Guinness Book of Records recognised world record for the biggest online slot jackpot win.

However, what is perhaps more amazing than the size of Mr Heywood's record-shattering win, is the fact just how often the Mega Moolah jackpot has been triggered over the years. Since it was first released, there have been a total of 33 winners who have all become instant millionaires playing the slot. It is this promise of instant riches which will be of such great interest to all those new PokerStars Casino customers.

Over the years, the jackpot has been won 27 times on a desktop PC and six times via a mobile, however, PokerStars Mobile customers will be delighted to know that most of the mobile jackpot winners have come in recent years and of the last seven jackpot winners, four of them have been won by people playing Mega Moolah from their mobile device.

PokerStars customers will now know that the mobile jackpot is already climbing close to the £1.5m mark and it is rising steadily. The jackpot can be triggered on any spin, by any player at any time by triggering the Jackpot Wheel and landing in the Mega Jackpot sector on your spin. Who will be the very first PokerStars customer to win the Mega Moolah jackpot? Only time will tell.
