Crazy Tooth Studio have produced some unusual games in the past, last month's Incredible Balloon Machine game being a fine example. Well it seems creativity runs deep at the studio as fresh from that release, the company has released another somewhat unusual looking 'slot' game called Seven 7's.

Now of course, slot players will be familiar with the Lucky 7 symbol being used on a massive number of games over the years, so there's nothing special about that. Only on this game, when the slot loads up initially, you may be forgiven for thinking something has gone wrong with the loading mechanism as you will only see the one reel on screen.

The aim is to land a 7 on the reel when you spin, if you do a second reel will be added to the first and then you will get a free re-spin of that new reel. Land a second 7, and you land a win and also get a third reel added and another re-spin of that new reel and so on, until you have potentially seven reels in a line and seven of the seven symbols landed (which results in the jackpot payout of 25,000x your stake).

Presentation

The presentation of the Seven 7's slot is as simple as the game is itself. The single reel is displayed on the screen and it has a rather lavish backdrop accompanying it of glistening gold and ornate what I believe to be carvings or casting in a pretty pattern.

A jaunty tune accompanies you as you spin the reels and what you will notice is that as you spin the reels, and once you land a 7 in full on the reel, the second reel will expand into the space next to the first. This continues each time you land a Lucky 7 symbol until you have a maximum of seven reels in place on the reels.

The presentation is simple but it is very well done and it is easy to see what prizes you can win as they are displayed in a paytable at the top of the screen which appears once you have landed the first seven symbol on the reel.

What is on the reels?

There are just three symbols on the reels. The first is the Bar symbol, which is essentially a blocking symbol. It does not offer a payout and when landed on the reel spinning, it will end in a losing spin.

The other symbol is the 7 symbol and this needs to be landed in full on the reel in order to trigger the next reel in the sequence. The more of these 7 symbols you can land in a sequence of spins across a greater number of reels, then the larger the cash prize will be that you win.

Finally, there is a Wild Multiplier symbol on the reels which can be used to substitute for the 7 symbol and we will explore more about this symbol below.

Wild features

To help you land some of the bigger prizes in the game, without having to land a huge number of 7 symbols in sequence, there is a Wild Multiplier symbol on the second, third, fifth and six reels of the game.

When you land this symbol, it will be used as a Lucky 7 symbol but also will give you a 2x multiplier on the total win. However, if you manage to land a sequence of Lucky 7 symbols and within that you have landed multiple Wild Multipliers, then they can be combined to increase the overall value of the win.

Free Spins features

There is no Free Spins bonus in the Seven 7's slot. The only bonus is the re-spin you land when you trigger an additional reel to add to those already available in the game by landing a seven symbol on the previous reel.

Best feature of the Seven 7's slot

There's only really the one feature on the Seven 7's slot and that is the Wild Multiplier and while this is undoubtedly a nice touch in the game, I actually think the star of the game is the game itself. The unusual set up of the Seven 7's slot and the simple, but original game-play makes this a slot game like none you have ever played before. I actually feel that the elements of this slot game combine very well and I like the fact it is higher variance and offers a sizeable win as this will definitely attract more players to give the slot a try. Sure, it is not your traditional slot game by any means, but I think Crazy Tooth Studio should be given plenty of commendations for trying something different once again and again, I feel this works nicely.

Conclusion

Slots purists may take an instant dislike to the Seven 7's slot, but I actually feel that as a standalone game, it is a very nicely presented and thought out game. The idea of adding another reel isn't a new one, but to do this with just one pay line and one symbol in view on the reels is and I think once you get over the look of the game and how different it is, you discover that the game, while very simple, does have a little extra depth to keep you playing. I can't see this being a game that slot players will play for hours on end in a session, but it is one you will come back to for a few spins on from time to time.
