Sisters of Oz Wowpot is now available to play and the jackpot is over 6 million!

What is better than a brand-new slot game that comes with a fantastic progressive jackpot game offering a jackpot that currently stands at just over 6 million?

Well, there's nothing better. This is the holy grail of jackpot slots. If that sounds too good to be true, then it is not because today the brand new slot Sisters of Oz Wowpot has hit Mega Moolah casinos.

The Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot is linked to the Wowpot progressive jackpot fund and which currently offers a top prize of over 6 million to the first lucky Wowpot Jackpot winner!

There is another non-progressive version of the Sisters of Oz, which offers good chance of winning too - in fact up to 1000x your bet. But other than that the games are essentially exactly the same at face value.

Given that both slots are generally identical in how the look and play, I will review both here and you can assume that if I do not specify a feature for one of the slots, it is inherent in both games, however I will also point out any differences between the games too.

So does this new addition to the Wowpot progressive jackpot network, the second game to join that particular club to be released in the past week after the Book of Atem Wowpot slot, live up to the hype? Is the Jackpot version a viable alternative to the progressive jackpot game? We decided to take a closer look to find out.

Presentation

Both versions of the Sisters of Oz slot are basically exactly the same, with the only difference being the four jackpots on offer in the Jackpot Bonus Game in each. The base game is presented wit the five reels overlaid the famous Yellow Brick Road in the famous land of Oz. To the left of the reels are the four jackpot prizes, the Wowpot jackpots in the progressive version and the four standard jackpots in the jackpot version.

To trigger a shot at these jackpots you need to collect the jackpot tokens, which are overlaid on some of the lower value potion symbols on the reels on each spin. The more you can collect of these, the more chances you will trigger of landing a shot at the jackpot prize you are playing for.

The sound of the slot is also nicely done with a gentle piano tune playing and the animations of the sisters, who are all very attractive, is nicely done with their eyes blinking which does give the game a rather eerie but realistic feel.

Overall, Triple Edge Studios have done a fantastic job with the Sisters of Oz Slot in both versions of the game and it is good that both games have the same high level of detail and quality in both.

What is on the reels?

In terms of standard symbols, there are nine of those on the reels. Five of those are the lower value potion symbols and wins on these symbols range from 0.2x your bet up to 1.5x your bet. The five potions are easily identified by their colour ranging in value from blue through purple, green, red and lastly to orange.

The higher value symbols are the four very pretty sisters of Oz. Wins on these symbols range from 0.25x your bet up to 18x your bet for five of the Red sister symbols across the reels.

However, during the game, it is possible to land stacked symbols of the four sisters on the middle reels and if you can land these stacks of symbols on the middle three reels, they can combine to form what the game calls a Jumbo Block, which if you can match up with a similar symbol or Wild on the first and/or fifth reels, can lead to a very sizeable win as you can win large amounts across many of the 20 pay lines.

Wild features

The Book of Oz, which is a familiar sight from the first slot in this series, is the in game Wild symbol and it is also acts as the Scatter symbol too. The Wild substitutes for all symbol in the game except the Jackpot Trigger symbol and you can land up to five Wilds across a pay line. This will trigger the biggest value base game win of 100x your bet. However, the Wild is used most often as a substitute symbol to help create additional wins across the reels.

In addition, landing three or more Wilds will see you trigger a Free Spins bonus game which we will explore in more detail below.

Free Spins features

Depending on how many Wild Scatters you land on the reels, you will trigger either 5, 7 or 10 Free Spins for 3, 4 or 5 Wild Scatter symbols landed. During the Free Spins bonus game all wins on any line are doubled and the jumbo block feature is in play on every spin, which of course gives you a better chance of triggering a win across multiple pay lines.

One nice touch is that if you land two Scatters in the Free Spins round, you are rewarded with an additional 3 Free Spins. You can also land Scatters and the Progressive/Jackpot Trigger symbol on the first and fifth reels during the bonus, which is a nice touch and means you could trigger a shot at either the progressive jackpots or the standard Jackpot from within the Free Spins round.

Speaking of the Progressive or Jackpot Bonus, this is triggered randomly in the game when you collect a Progressive or Jackpot Wheel symbol. When the bonus is triggered, you then get to spin the wheel, which is divided into segments of four colours, each colour corresponding to a prize.

In the progressive version of the slot, the Mini jackpot is paid on a blue segment, the Minor on a purple, the Major on a green and the big Wowpot jackpot on the red.

The Jackpots version follows the same series with the smaller mini jackpot the blue segments and the higher Mega jackpot the red segments.

Once you spin the reel and it comes to rest, whatever colour segment the pointer lands on will be the jackpot prize that you win.

Best feature of the Sisters of Oz slot

While the Free Spins bonus is fun and the game has been presented beautifully, there is no doubt that the big attraction of the Sisters of Oz slot is the jackpot bonus games and of course, when it comes to comparing them, the progressive version is so much more exciting with a much greater value prize on offer. As such, I think the progressive jackpot version of the slot, the Sisters of Oz Wowpot game, will be the one that certainly attracts the majority of players to give the game a try as the amount you can win (currently 6 million) dwarfs the 1000x jackpot available on the Jackpot version of the game.

Conclusion

It is a bold move from Microgaming to release two versions of the slot and I am wondering if this is because some casinos don't carry the Wowpot series, but will carry games that have a different jackpot prize on offer. Whatever the reason, the fact you have a choice of which Sisters of Oz slot to play is good in one respect, but somewhat pointless in another as if you have a choice you would elect to play for the Wowpot version of the game every time. The slot is superbly done and very nicely brought to life and it does have some nice standalone features apart from the jackpot prizes, but it is these which will certainly attract players to try the game and as such, the progressive jackpot version of the game is the one that will win most admirers in my view, and rightly so.
