Smashing Biscuit slot reviewed by MegaMoolah.com

One of the most appealing aspect of any new slot game is when you open the file and are met with something that is very original compared to other games.

Pear Fiction Studios, who have recently signed a deal for their slots to be played in Microgaming casinos, have managed to do precisely that with their exciting release, The Smashing Biscuit slot.

If the name sounds a little crazy, well that is because The Smashing Biscuit are a small three-piece band, working hard in dad's garage to try and make it big in the world of music. From this basic premise, Pear Fiction Studios have built up a very engaging slot, with some outstanding touches, clever bonus features and enticing jackpots.

However, you don't have to just take my word for it. We didn't shower for a week, slapped on some jeans with holes in them, put a scowl on our face and picked up the guitar and headed down to the garage to see if The Smashing Biscuit was going to be a number 1 chart topper, or a total flop.

Here's what we found out.

Presentation

I have to say that all aspects of the presentation of The Smashing Biscuit slot are absolutely first class. The little introduction that plays when you first load up the slot is a great way to show the theme of the slot in a funny yet relatable way and then when you start playing the quality of animations and sound continues in the base game.

That is also the case when you trigger the bonus features of the slot, each of which fits in beautifully with the garage-band theme of the game. This is a fabulous slot in terms of how it looks and sounds and it is little wonder that Microgaming wanted the game to be available in their casinos.

What is on the reels?

In the base game of the Smashing Biscuit slot, there are four lower value symbols. These are the four guitar symbols, although if you look closely, you will see that each guitar is shaped like one of the four playing card symbols, Jack, Queen, King and Ace. I love this idea and it is a brilliant way to have those recognisable low symbols, but done in a way that fits in perfectly with the theme of the slot. Perfection from Pear Fiction Studios.

The wins they offer range from lower value wins of 0.3x your bet, up to 9x your bet for five across a pay line.

There are also four higher value symbols on the reels, there's Dad and the three band members, Soggy Biscuit, Crunchy Biscuit and Tiny Biscuit with the latter being the highest paying symbol in the base game offering wins of up to 75x your bet for five across the reels.

There are two other symbols on the reels, the Wild and the Battle of the Bands Scatter symbol and these are linked to the main features of the slot as outlined below.

Wild features

The Wild symbol in the base game is the gold Wild symbol and this appears on the first, second, fourth and fifth reels only. This can help you land some sizeable wins in the base game, especially if you can land more than one Wild across the reels. There's no multiplier attached to Wild wins, however the base game Amp Multiplier (see below) can give any win a multiplier in the base game and that includes wins completed with a Wild symbol.

The Free Spins bonus round sees additional Wilds on the reels as we will explore below.

Free Spins features

To trigger the Free Spins feature you need to land three or more of the Battle of the Bands Scatter symbols anywhere across the first, third and fifth reels. When you do, once you have received any pay outs due you from the base game, the Battle of the Bands bonus game starts.

You begin with 10 Free Spins and with each of the three Band Members now the high paying Wild symbols on the reels. The reel set also changes from a 5x3 reel set to a 4x3 reel set and there are different symbols on the reels too for Free Spins. Furthermore, instead of the Scatter, you have a Free Spins symbol, which if landed awards you 2 Free Spins for one symbol landed, 4 Free Spins if you can land two in a single spin and a massive 11 Free Spins if you can land three.

You then play through your bonus in the Battle of the Bands and at the end of your Free Spins, the amount you win is added to your funds and the base game begins again.

However the Free Spins is not the only feature on the slot. The randomly triggered Dad Bonus in the base game will see Dad come down to the basement armed with his remote control and he will set the Amp multiplier meter to a new higher value. This is in addition to the Multiplier increasing by one every time you land a winning spin, or decreasing by one (to a minimum of 1x your bet) if you have a losing spin.

Best feature of the Smashing Biscuit slot

There are so many great things about the Smashing Biscuits slot and it is hard to pick what is best from them. The presentation is outstanding and the best I have seen on a slot for a long time, the bonus features are well designed, executed well and fit the theme perfectly. The Free Spins bonus can be very rewarding but has the right level of variance to make it workable in the game. One minor niggle is those low value wins in the base game, but overall, this is a fabulous slot and those extra Wilds in the Free Spins bonus round really can make a big difference.

Conclusion

The Smashing Biscuit is an emerging slot that is going to be a sure-fire number 1 for many slot players. It is a fabulous game with an original theme, superbly designed and executed bonus features and just the right mix of variance to ensure all players can enjoy the slot. This is one game, like a great song, you'll want to keep playing again and again.
