I have to admit that one of biggest dreams is to spend a holiday in Hawaii at one point or another. Presentation

The presentation of the Tiki Mania slot is very nicely done. Set against the backdrop of a rather lush cartoon-styled Hawaiian island, complete with an azure ocean lapping at the white sand. The reels are fringed by palm trees and flowers with a bamboo framing and fairy lights completing the rather fetching look.

The reels themselves are a 5x3 set and the graphics continue the cartoon theme. The soundtrack to the slot is also excellent and will have you dreaming of Hawaiian holidays for a long time after you have finished playing the game. It is a higher variance slot, so you do need patience in order to get the best out of the game.

What is on the reels?

There are a total of eight standard symbols on the reels in the Tiki Mania slot. The lower value of these are the four playing card low symbols, the Jack, Queen, King and Ace, which offer wins from 0.5x your total bet, up to 2.5x your total bet depending on how many you land on a pay line and what symbol you land.

The higher value symbols are all to do with Hawaiian culture and life and they include two drinks in a coconut shell, a flower, a guitar and a set of Hawaiian drums and these symbols offer wins from 1.5x your total bet up to 30x your total bet.

Alongside these reels, there are two other types of symbols on the reels, Tiki Wilds and the Scatter symbol, which both offer access to the main bonus features of the slot.

Wild features

There are a number of different Tiki Wild symbols on the reels. The first is the Red Tiki Wild, which appears on the second or the fourth reel of the slot. This symbol can be landed in full to completely cover the slot, but even if you land just a partial part of the symbol on the reels, it will nudge the reels so that it is on the reel in full.

Then you will receive a free re-spin of the reels, regardless of whether your first spin was a winner or not. If your re-spin is a winner, then you get to re-spin the reel again and so on until you land a spin that is not a winner.

When you land a Re-Spin, you will also have a further three Tiki Wilds on the reels, these are Multiplier Wilds and they offer a different multiplier for each Wild. The Blue Multiplier Wild offers a 1x multiplier, the Green is 2x and the yellow is 3x. Like the Red Tiki Wild, if you land one of these on a re-spin partially on the reel, it will nudge the reel until it appears on the reel in full and will also launch a re-spin.

Every Red Tiki Wild you land also sees you collect coins and each time you collect a coin, you could trigger one of the two jackpots in the game. These are the Major Jackpot, which is 50x your stake, and the Grand Jackpot, which is a much larger 1000x your stake.

Best feature of the Tiki Mania slot

There's no doubt that the main feature of the Tiki Mania slot that is going to be appealing to most players is the Free Spins bonus round. It is possible to land some very sizeable wins in this bonus game, especially if you are a higher stakes player. The two Jackpots are tempting but never feel too much a part of the game to be honest, so it is those potentially high paying Free Spins that are the most desirable feature of the slot, along with those important Tiki Wilds and Multiplier Wilds.

Conclusion

The Tiki Mania slot is a very nicely done high variance game and it is another good slot from Fortune Factory as part of their deal with Microgaming. Although not bristling with innovation in terms of bonus features, I do think they have made these features different enough to the majority of slots to make it appealing to players and as such, it offers slots players something a little different to what you would expect from a standard Microgaming slot. The Free Spins bonus feature is the real crown jewel here, but it can be a little problematic to hit at times, however patience can be rewarded sometimes with some very large wins possible. This is a fun slot and one you will come back to play regularly.
