Wheel of Wishes jackpot slot is paying out Major wins
The Wheel of Wishes slot top progressive jackpot continues to climb and it has now reached over 4.2 million. Since the game was released, first with a limited release and then a general release in February 2020, the top jackpot prize, the Wowpot has been growing from its seed amount of 2 million ever since, but as yet, remains to be won.
It is tempting to think then that there hasn't been a huge amount of action on the Wheel of Wishes slot and that nobody has won a great deal of money playing the game. In actual fact, nothing could be further from the truth.
Since its release, Wheel of Wishes has been paying out consistently ever since and while the top jackpot prize has not yet been claimed, the other three jackpot prizes, the Mini, Minor and perhaps most importantly, the Major have all been won regularly. You can see the stats on WheelofWishes.net.
While the Mini and Minor wins have happened in their thousands, with many triggers of both jackpot prizes each day, Major winners are much less common and not as well reported as the big jackpot wins which overlooks some of the huge wins that players have had on the Wheel of Wishes slot since its general release in February.
So, before we take a look at some of those bigger Major Jackpot prizes, let's just remind ourselves of how any of the four progressive jackpot prizes available on the Wheel of Wishes slot can be won when playing the game.
How is the Wheel of Wishes jackpot triggered?
If you play the base game of Wheel of Wishes, then you need to land two or more of the Wheel of Wishes Scatter symbols on the reels on a single spin to trigger a Power Spin. Each Power Spin changes the reel set and has large 3x3 symbols on the middle three reels. If you fail to trigger a Power Spin in the base game mode then you cannot trigger the Jackpot Bonus Wheel on that spin, although you can win on pay lines as per usual.
You can, if you so wish, elect to play every spin as a potentially triggering Jackpot spin by electing to use the Power Mode option in Wheel of Wishes. This mode turns the standard 5x3 base game into every spin being a Power Spin, with those huge symbols on the middle reels and the two outside reels landing the same symbol pattern on each spin.
However, each Power Spin costs 10x the standard amount of a base game spin, so if you are playing the base game of Wheel of Wishes for 1.00 per spin, and switch to Power Mode, your initial wagering amount would be 10.
You can adjust this up and down by changing the value of your coin, but this would also then reduce the value of any non-progressive wins you may land in the Power Spin Mode.
Regardless of whether you play in Base Game mode and trigger a Power Spin from there, or play purely Power Spins, you need to land the Wheel of Wishes large Scatter symbol, in full on the middle reel in order to trigger a shot at the progressive jackpot bonus game.
This game is very similar to the Mega Moolah bonus game, where you spin a wheel and whatever sector the pointer lands on, then that equates to one of the four jackpot prizes. If you trigger the reel, you are guaranteed to win one of the four progressive jackpot prizes available.
Who have been the Major jackpot winners on Wheel of Wishes?
It didn't take very long from the game's release in February for the first Major jackpot winner to be landed. Indeed, that first winner remains the largest ever cash prize won on the Wheel of Wishes slot as one lucky player took home a prize of around 329,309 on February 13th 2020.
That win seemed to trigger a period where the Major jackpot was won relatively frequently over a short period of time, each for generally smaller amounts of money, which was the case for a month from mid-February to mid-March.
Over that time, five more Major jackpot prizes were awarded, but only one of those crept above the 100,000 mark. That was the first of these on the 15th February, just two days after the first trigger, with a prize of over 101,000.
There then followed a prize on the 19th February of over 71,700, then another on the 23rd February for over 92,500. We then had a little gap through to the 6th March when one player landed a prize of over 87,190, while on March 9th, one player landed a prize of just over 67,219.
However, since those initial six wins from February to March 2020, we have since seen just four more triggers of the Major jackpot prize on the Wheel of Wishes slot and each one of those triggers has seen a prize of over 200,000 awarded to the lucky player.
There was a gap of 23 days between the winner on the 6th March and the next winner on the 29th March. This winner claimed a much larger prize, and the fifth largest awarded on the Wheel of Wishes slot thus far by pocketing a prize of over 219,600.
We then had a month or so to wait for the next winner which came on the 25th April 2020 when a player took home the second largest win on the game so far, landing a prize of over 287,500. There was another gap of about a month until the 22nd May when the next winner landed a prize over over 266,000, while we didn't have to wait too long for the first June winner with the most recent winner landing their prize of over 255,000 on the 8th June 2020.
If you add up all these Major jackpot triggers alone, then that equates to well over a million paid out to winners of this jackpot prize alone. Then when you factor in the thousands of triggers of the Minor and Mini jackpot prizes, and it is clear to see that even if the Wowpot Jackpot has not yet been claimed, the Wheel of Wishes slot has still been paying people out regularly.
What about the Wowpot Jackpot?
Of course, winning the Major Jackpot prize on the Wheel of Wishes slot is fantastic, but that doesn't diminish the fact that the jackpot players want to win for themselves is the Wowpot Jackpot prize, which currently stands at over 4.2 million. With no win since the slot was first released, should players be worried that the Wowpot Jackpot is just too long and odds to hit?
The simple answer to this is that they should not and there are a number of good reasons for this. The first one being that Microgaming would not find it in their interests to produce a slot game where the top jackpot prize is so difficult to hit that it may not be won for years or even decades. Players would quickly grow tired of such a slot and besides, the popularity of the Mega Moolah slot, which sees relatively regular jackpot wins (four in 2020 alone so far) shows Microgaming that players like progressives which see regular winners of the top prize.
You can also be assured that when designing the game, the designers will have painstaking researched what the right chances are for a player to win the jackpot and then designed the game around that.
The other thing to note is that Wheel of Wishes is still a brand-new slot and these newer games take a while to gain a following. When Mega Moolah was released it took a while for the first big money win to land and for the first few years of the slot, up until 2011, having a year when just one or two jackpots were won was the norm.
It is only in relatively recent times that the Mega Moolah slot has paid out more top jackpots to players and that is simply because more players are playing more spins on the game, which is making the chances of jackpot being won therefore increase.
Wheel of Wishes is simply following that trend at the moment and over the coming months and years, as it games more followers (which will inevitably come when the first jackpot or two are won) and with the release of games that will also contribute to the jackpot prize and on which you can win the Wowpot Jackpot (such as the forthcoming Sisters of Oz and Fortunium Gold slots) will see more spins played on it and a greater chance of the bigger jackpot prize being won.
For the time being, Wheel of Wishes is still yet to pay out that first massive jackpot winner, but I am willing to bet that before the end of 2020, we may see at least one, if not more jackpot winners crowned. However, even if we don't, it will mean that the jackpot will climb to an even greater amount which is sure to attract more players to play the game.
