Wowpot Jackpot hits £5 million on the Wheel of Wishes slot
We may well have been documenting how the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot top prize has climbed through the £12 million mark over the last few days, but it is not the only big money jackpot prize that has reached a milestone in the past few days.
That is because the new Wowpot Progressive Jackpot prize, that you can play for currently on the Wheel of Wishes slot (as well as the forthcoming Sisters of Oz and Fortunium Gold slot games) has also reached a milestone for the first time in the last day or two, that of the £5m mark.
Currently, the jackpot stands at just over £5 million and it continues to rise steadily upwards.
Not only that, but the second largest prize on the Wheel of Wishes slot, the Major Jackpot, has also reached an exciting threshold as it has recently passed the £250,000 mark once again, which is around the amount where the jackpot has been triggered on numerous occasions, since the slot was first released back at the start of 2020.
It has now been about six months since the Wheel of Wishes slot was first released generally across casinos, so how has the first six months of life for this brand new Microgaming-powered progressive gone?
Wowpot Progressive Jackpot - The First Six Months
There was huge excitement when Microgaming announced that the old Wowpot Progressive Jackpot slot was being discontinued, but that the jackpot that had the name would be used in another game but radically altered from its originally very small amount.
However, nobody was really prepared for just how far Microgaming would go with this redesign. So, as the old Wowpot Slot went out, the new Wheel of Wishes slot came in with a massively revamped progressive system and some huge initial seed amounts for the top prizes.
The headline news was that the top jackpot prize, the Wowpot would be seeded at an incredible £2 million. That is double the seed amount used on the Mega Moolah slot. Furthermore, the second largest prize, the Major Jackpot prize, would also be seeded at £50,000. This was five times the seed amount of the second top progressive prize on the Mega Moolah network which has its Major Jackpot seeded at £10,000.
Some people even wondered, somewhat foolhardily, whether the Wheel of Wishes slot would usurp Mega Moolah as the progressive of choice for many players.
However, since its release it has been apparent that the new kid on the block, while a hugely enjoyable and playable game in its own right, still does not have the massive appeal that Mega Moolah enjoys and that while it is seeded at a larger amount, its jackpot increases much more slowly, which means that Mega Moolah tends to be the slot that offers the larger jackpot prizes.
Since Wheel of Wishes release back in February 2020, the Wowpot Progressive jackpot top prize is yet to be won. In the same space of time, the Mega Moolah's Mega Jackpot has been won four times.
However, where the Wheel of Wishes slot has really shone has been in its Major Jackpot awards. Since the slots release, we have seen a large number of these wins, with several winners landing prizes of around the 250,000 mark, and some even moving towards the 300,000 mark.
So while the Wheel of Wishes slot may not have paid out 'the big one' as yet, it has still been rewarding some players with very generous Major Jackpot triggers, with an average of around two Major Jackpot wins per month since the slot was released.
This is, of course, in addition to the thousands of smaller prizes that have been won since the game's release from the Mini and Minor jackpot prizes, both of which are won several times each day.
So while it may appear that has been a quiet and sedate start for the Wheel of Wishes slot and its Wowpot Jackpot, it is important to note that the game has paid out some sizeable wins and with at least two new slots coming in 2020 that will also offer a chance to win the Wowpot Jackpot, in the shape of Fortunium Gold and Sisters of Oz, it seems likely that this is a jackpot prize that is only going to grow in popularity with slots players, especially as that top jackpot prize continues to grow in size.
Wowpot Jackpot - The Next Six Months
So, what can we expect to see from the Wowpot Progressive Jackpot prize over the next six months? Well, one of the most prominent things is the aforementioned release of a couple of new games to add to the Wowpot network. There's no doubt in my mind that when Sisters of Oz and Fortunium Gold are released later this year and linked to that big progressive prize, this will once again bring the game into focus and attract a number of players to play for the prize.
As such, we may see the jackpot given a little boost of speed in terms of how quickly it is growing.
I would also expect to see a number of other Major Jackpot winners landing some sizeable prizes too over the next six months, and I would not be surprised if we get a winner that starts to edge towards the half a million mark over this period, especially if the release of the new games sees an upturn in the number of people contributing to the progressive jackpot fund.
Of course, the big question on everyone's lips is whether the Wowpot Progressive Jackpot will be won at some point in the future but in truth, with no historic evidence to gauge how likely that is, and the chances of the jackpot being won being kept a secret by the game designers, there is no real way to say whether the jackpot will likely be won, or not, over the next six months.
It could well be that Microgaming decided to make the Wowpot Progressive a slow-burner, which means that it may be won very infrequently compared to other progressive jackpot games like Mega Moolah. Or, it could just be that the number of spins being played on the game have simply not been lucky enough to initiate a big Wowpot progressive win in the past six months.
Without that historic data, making predictions as to when the jackpot will be won is impossible, but it also makes the game very exciting as you know that the next spin could be a winner. See more of the Wheel of Wishes jackpot stats at WheelofWishes.net.
It is also worth remembering that the original Mega Moolah progressive jackpot did not pay out very many times over the course of 12 months during its early years of operation, but in other years, such as 2017 when there were an incredible 13 winners and 2019 where there were 12, the jackpot has been won much more often.
So, it is entirely feasible that we could wait a while for the Wowpot Progressive jackpot to be won, and then it could be won a number of times over a relatively short period of time. That is the nature of random jackpot prizes, they can be won at any time, by any player for any amount.
It has been a solid six months start for the Wheel of Wishes slot and the Wowpot Progressive and the future looks exciting with new games in the pipeline and the chance that we could see the very first new Wowpot Progressive winner at any time!
