6 million reasons to try your luck on the 3 Wowpot progressive jackpot games!

As weeks go, it has been a pretty momentous one in the history of the new Microgaming progressive jackpot network, the Wowpot.

Not only have we witnessed the release of two brand new games that offer you a chance to land the top jackpot prize, but overnight on the day that the second of those new games was released, the Jackpot crashed through the six million barrier!

Six million reasons to play the Wowpot slot!

Since the Wheel of Wishes slot was released generally back in February, the Wowpot progressive jackpot prize has increased steadily over the months since then, hitting the 5 million mark a good few weeks back before crossing the six million mark just the other evening.

Microgaming's newest progressive top jackpot prize is seeded at an incredible 2 million, so it has added over 4 million to that amount since the game first hit casinos.

The Wowpot progressive jackpot is yet to be won, although there have been, at the last count, 21 different winners of the Major Wowpot Progressive prize, which is seeded at a minimum of 50,000 and which often pays out prizes of over 100,000. There have been tens of thousands of winners of the Mini and Minor jackpot prizes since the game began.

Will the Wowpot progressive jackpot climb higher than six million?

A number of people have commented on the fact that the Wowpot Progressive Jackpot, despite being seeded at double the amount of the Mega Moolah's Mega jackpot prize (which is a £1m seeded prize), has grown far less quickly over time than its older brother.

It is worth noting that since February 2020 when the Wowpot progressive was first available on the Wheel of Wishes slot, the Mega Moolah jackpot has been won six times in total, awarding over 62 million in various currencies to those winners alone.

Not only that, it has paid out jackpot prizes or 16 million, 13 million, 9 million, 14 million and two of 4 million. Which shows that not only does the jackpot grow to large amounts, but it can also grow quickly from a relatively small amount, into a much larger base.

So why doesn't the Wowpot seem to grow anywhere near as quickly as the Mega Moolah progressive?

Well the answer for that is simply that the Mega Moolah slot has been established a lot longer than Wowpot. The game has already made many millionaires from all over the world. It has also been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records (for Jon Heywood's mega money win back in 2015) and all that builds up a game in the eyes of the slots playing public. See our Winners page.

So much so that any new game, that doesn't have a long history of producing winners, is always going to pale in comparison.

Of course, it may also be the case that the Wowpot Jackpot is 'slow burner' where the jackpot increases slowly over time but can reach very high amounts, The truth of it is that we won't know for sure until we have had our first few winners on the Wowpot slot.

And the good news is that this could now be coming a little sooner than many expected thanks to the release of two brand new Wowpot progressive slots over the last couple of weeks.

Two new Wowpot slots and the effect they will have on the jackpot prize

Six Million is a fantastic prize to win of course, but in the world of progressive jackpot slots, you can win more than that amount. One Mega Moolah progressive jackpot player earned a 20 million-plus payout a few years back, while there have been a number of wins over the 10 million mark, including three in 2020 alone.

However, the release of the Book of Atem Wowpot slot last week, and of today's Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot could well have a massively galvanising effect on the future of the Wowpot slot game. We already know that the addition of new games to the Mega Moolah network has led to more players playing more spins on the game, which has seen the progressive jackpot grow more quickly.

There is now every likelihood that the new Wowpot Jackpot slot will see a similar acceleration in the amount of money contributing to the jackpot prize as players have a choice of not just one, but three different slots to play.

However, it is more than just choice that could influence this. On the Wheel of Wishes slot, players could play the base game, which only offered them a limited chance of triggering the Power Mode (the key to the jackpot bonus), or play in Power Mode, which offers you a Power Spins continually, but costs 10x as much to play.

The great thing about the Book of Atem and Sisters of Oz progressive jackpot games is that these games offer players a different way to play and a different way to trigger the jackpot bonus game. A method that has proven to be particularly appealing on the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot.

In these games, tokens are collected and added to a chest and the more tokens you collect, the more chance you have of triggering the progressive jackpot bonus game. Given how successful this is on other progressive slot games, I am not surprised to see it introduced in both the new Wowpot slots.

The positive side of that for players is that players now do not need to spend a minimum of £1 per spin to give themselves a chance of landing the Jackpot Bonus Wheel. With spins starting at just 0.20 per spin on both the new Wowpot slots, I think you will see a quick uptake on both these new games and with the net result that the Wowpot progressive will, I believe, start to accelerate up a little faster than it has previously.

So while the Wowpot jackpot has now reached six million, my money is that it won't take quite so long to climb to seven million and then maybe beyond.

Unless of course, we land our first ever Wowpot progressive jackpot winner, in which case, interest in the game will certainly skyrocket.

Microgaming have guided their newest progressive somewhat gently over the first few months, but I think we are soon going to see the Wowpot progressive take off.
