Absolootly Mad slot powered by Mega Moolah: Jackpot slots coming in 2020

It is fair to say that after leaving their impressive selection of progressive jackpot games to their own devices for many years, 2019 was the year when Microgaming decided it was time to give their offering something of a revamp.

First of all, we saw the first new progressive jackpot slot game for many years arrive in the form of Mega Vault Millionaire slot during the latter part of 2019. This game, which was tied to the famous Mega Moolah progressive jackpot prize, was available at Casino Rewards casinos exclusively and featured a new and exciting jackpot bonus game where you unlock vaults to stand a chance of landing the top Mega Jackpot progressive prize.

Then late in 2019, there was a limited release (followed by a full release in February 2020) of not just one, but two outstanding new progressive jackpot games. The first of these was Atlantean Treasures slot, another slot that was linked directly to the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot. Unlike Mega Vault Millionaire, this slot was made available to all customers of casinos that offered Microgaming progressives and with its 10-pay line structure and a new way to trigger the Jackpot Bonus game.

At the same time, Microgaming had stopped customers playing their Wowpot progressive jackpot game and had instead revamped that Wowpot Jackpot prize into a giant of a progressive, seeded at 2 million. This newly designed jackpot would be the top prize out of a total of four progressive jackpot prizes available on the brand new Wheel of Wishes slot, which also came out on general release in February 2020.

So, in the space of just a few months, we had seen two new Mega Moolah-powered slots hit casinos, as well as a brand-new game, which had utilised the old Wowpot Jackpot and made it into the largest seeded progressive jackpot prize Microgaming had ever offered.

However if you thought that after the quick release of three games in the space of a few months, that Microgaming would then take their foot off the progressive pedal, then you would be wrong. Back in February at the ICE event in London, Microgaming stunned the attendees with an announcement of a further THREE progressive jackpot-linked games that are set to be released throughout 2020.

Working with the studios that the company have nurtured partnership deals with over the past couple of years, Microgaming have outsourced development of these games to the new teams and although we don't yet have confirmed release dates for these new games, it is fair to say that progressive jackpot players and slot fans are eagerly anticipating the trio of new releases.

Let's now take a look at what we know about each of these forthcoming progressive jackpot games.

  • Absolootly Mad powered by Mega Moolah - by Triple Edge Studios

The company that brought you the recent Attack on Retro slot, as well as other games like Lara Croft Temples and Tombs slot, Book of Oz slot and Playboy Gold Jackpots slot, have been entrusted by Microgaming to develop a brand new slot game that is to be linked in with the famous Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network.

Standing alongside Mega Moolah, plus new additional Atlantean Treasures and Mega Vault Millionaire, the new slot will be called Absolootly Mad.

The new slot is a 5-reel, 243 Ways to Win game that can be played from just 0.20p per spin. It comes with a Rolling Reels feature, which has its own multiplier trail which can increase with each successive Rolling Reels win up to a 5x multiplier in the base game.

The theme of the slot is the Mad Hatters Tea Party from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland story. There is also a potentially lucrative Free Spins bonus round you can play that is offering up to 56 Free Spins to be landed, as well as an increased value Multiplier Trail which could see Rolling Reels wins boosted by multipliers of up to 15x the standard amount.

To land a shot at one of the four Mega Moolah jackpot prizes, you need to collect Wild symbols, Each Wild symbol you land on the reel is collected in the Golden Teapot which is located above the reels. At some point, provided you have collected a Wild, the Golden Teapot may activate the Mad Cuckoo Jackpot Wheel.

This is a wheel spin bonus game very much in the same vein as the original Mega Moolah slot where you will spin one wheel and win one of the four progressive jackpot prizes available on the Mega Moolah network, the Mini, Minor, Major or if you are lucky, the huge Mega jackpot prize (which currently stands at over 8 million).

There is a tentative release date of 5th May 2020 for this slot and of course, when it is released, we will bring you our detailed review of the game, as well as a number of other articles looking at different aspects of the slot.

  • Sisters of Oz - by Triple Edge Studios

You would think that having a Mega Moolah-linked slot game set to be released shortly, Triple Edge Studios would have their hands full with that new game, but the studio has also been working on a second progressive jackpot linked slot.

This new game is Sisters of Oz and it is the third slot in the "Oz" series of games from the company. Unlike the two previous games, Book of Oz and Book of Oz Lock N Spin, this new game will be linked to Microgaming's newest progressive jackpot prize, the Wowpot jackpot.

Other than that, Microgaming and Triple Edge Studios are keeping their cards close to their chest with this new release. So far there is no official release date for the game, although many in the industry and speculating for an early-to-mid summer release date.

We are expecting gameplay however similar to that in both previous Book of Oz titles, though with the incorporation of a chance of winning one of the four progressive prizes that are part of the Wowpot progressive jackpot fund.

You can see more information about the Wowpot jackpots won on WheelofWishes.net.

  • Fortunium Gold - by Stormcraft Studios

Stormcraft Studios bounded onto the scene after securing a partnership deal with Microgaming with their first release Fortunium slot, a steam-punk inspired game that was as inventive as it was visually stunning. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Stormcraft Studios are returning to that world for their new game Fortunium Gold, which will be linked to the Wowpot! progressive jackpot prize pool.

As with the Sisters of Oz slot, we have no official release date pencilled in for this game, other than it is expected to be released some time in 2020, and we also think that many of the features that made the original Fortunium slot such a hit, will likely return in this game, in one form or another.

It is clear that in 2020, Microgaming are going to offer customers the chance to play even more slots for their top two progressive jackpot prizes and we will see even more games added to the Wowpot and Mega Moolah progressive networks in the coming months and years.
