Casino Rewards winners: March 2020

March is always a positive time for many people in the northern hemisphere. The last vestiges of the winter start to fade away and temperatures head upwards, and the nights start to noticeably shorten. And of course, it is a perfect month to indulge in a bit of slot gaming too.

That is what 34 lucky people did playing at Casino Rewards casinos throughout the month and in doing so they became one of the big money winners at the group in the month of March. Each win ranges from 10,000 in a stated currency, up to the largest win of the month at the Casino Rewards network, which was also the first winner of the month too who claimed a 140,000+ jackpot on the new Mega Vault Millionaire slot.

It was also the first month that saw both Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah and the Wheel of Wishes slot available in full to all customers throughout the course of an entire month, with both these new slots released in the middle of February. It is going to be interesting to see how this impacts the data, especially when it comes to winners of that famous Mega Jackpot progressive prize.

Once again there were no million plus jackpot winners at the Casino Rewards Network in March, in fact no player triggered a massive prize like that throughout March at any casino. However, we do know that there will be at least one massive jackpot winner on April's data, thanks to one lucky Casino Rewards player landing a multi-million jackpot prize in early April in what was the first Mega Moolah jackpot trigger of 2020.

We are getting a little ahead of ourselves here, so for now here is the headline data from March for big jackpot winners at Casino Rewards.

Casino Rewards Network Progressive Pay Outs - March 2020 - The Headlines

• There was no top progressive jackpot prize of over a million paid out to any player in March 2020, though we already know that this will not be the case for April 2020 as we have already had one confirmed winner on the Casino Rewards Network for that month and there could yet be more throughout the rest of April.
• The biggest money winner in March 2020 was one lucky player who landed a Euro jackpot prize of €140,056.29 on the 2^nd March at Cosmo Casino. It was the first win of the month.
• There were two more winners in March 2020 compared to February, but that was still four less than the 38 winners landed in January 2020. However, the top jackpot prize was the highest amount awarded to a single player in 2020 thus far.
• By far the luckiest day in March 2020 was the 23^rd of the month. On that day a record FIVE jackpot prizes were awarded with around 72,000 in different currencies paid out on that day alone.
• Two days also saw three jackpot winners and they were the 7^th and 9^th
• Wins were split evenly between the month of March,with 17 winners coming between the 1^st and 15^th and then the next 17 winners coming between the 17^th and 31^st
• Two jackpot prizes were awarded on the 2^nd, 3^rd, 5^th, 13^th, 19^th, 20^th, 21^st and 27^th
• Single jackpot wins were claimed on the 10^th, 14^th, 15^th, 17^th, 22^nd, 25^th and 26^th
• There were a few days where no jackpots were claimed and they were the 1^st, 4^th, 6^th, 8^th, 11^th, 12^th, 16^th, 18^th, 24^th, 28^th, 29^th, 30^th and 31^st
• Only five games, Mega Moolah, Atlantean Treasures, Mega Vault Millionaire, Treasure Nile and Cash Splash paid out winners in March 2020.
• The smallest prize in the data this month was a CA$10,017.01 prize won on the 27^th March, the last win of the month. That means March saw its biggest win landed with its first jackpot prize of the month and its smallest win with its last jackpot prize of the month.

Which Casinos and Games Generated Big Winners in March 2020?

Last month, Zodiac Casino and Yukon Gold Casino were the two casinos that contributed by far the most wins, knocking Grand Mondial Casino off the top spot that it had occupied for the previous four months. Does the data for March 2020 follow a similar pattern when it comes to the casinos that players landed their big money wins in?

A total of nine casinos paid out progressive jackpot prizes in March 2020, that is one more than in February. Grand Mondial Casino bounced back after a relatively quiet February matching the 9 winners that we saw at Zodiac Casino in February to finish well clear at the top of the list this month, landing four more winners than Luxury Casino which had a good month recording five winners.

Let's now take a look at the individual games that were paying out the big money in March 2020 at the Casino Rewards Network.

Just four games paid out big money winners in March 2020, and it is worth noting that the Mega Moolah slot, in addition to finishing well clear of Cash Splash slot with a massive 15 wins over the month (that is a big money pay out once every two days), also saw its jackpot pay out a further eight winners as the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot also funds all the Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah and Mega Vault Millionaire winners too. In fact, over the course of the month, this single jackpot prize accounted for 23 of the 34 big money winners during the month, which is a staggering 67.6% of the wins amassed on the network.

This clearly shows the massive appeal still of the Mega Moolah slot and the games that are powered by it.

For the third month in a row, the Euro was the second most popular currency to land a big money win at the Casino Rewards Network and also for the third month in a row, it was the currency with the largest overall win that month too. Half of the winners this month landed their prize in Canadian Dollars, which is down from the 61% of winners that the currency landed in February. This month's winners certainly seemed to be shared out a little more fairly between the currencies.

There was a marked jump in US Dollar winners which had three more winners (seven in total) compared to February's four. For the third month in a row in 2020, we didn't see any British Pound winners, nor any NZ Dollar winners either. How did each currency compare when we add up the amount won on each?

Looking back at the data for 2020 so far, once again we have seen a drop in the total amount won in Canadian Dollars which has dropped by a further 120,000 from February, however both the Euro and US Dollar total figures have made significant increases in March compared to the other months of the year, which does tend to echo the data we found when looking at the number of wins for each currency.

However, for a better comparison, we should take a close look at the average amount won by players using each of the three currencies in March 2020 and this table shows that despite having the most winners, Canadian Dollar players tended to earn less per win on average than other currency winners.

However, comparing different currencies amounts to each other is like comparing apples to pears. It only really makes sense when you convert those amounts into a single currency and for a better comparison, we are going to use the base currency for all Microgaming progressive jackpot network games, the British Pound.

As can clearly be seen with this data, the amount of money won by the Euro player far outstrips that of the other two currencies. Indeed it is over £10,000 more than a comparative average US Dollar win and almost £20,000 more than a standard Canadian Dollar win for the month. These figures are similar for January and February in 2020 too.

Note that players throughout the world can choose their currency of play if their own is not available. The currencies available to choose from are USD, CAD and EUR. What that means is that a player winning in CAD does not necessarily mean they are playing from Canada. Therefore the currency jackpot wins data does not provide an accurate indicator of where the player may come from.

What were the biggest Casino Rewards Network wins in March 2020?

We didn't see any of the million plus jackpots won on any of the Microgaming progressives offering just such a prize in March, either at Casino Rewards Network casinos, or indeed at any other casino. While we already know about the first millionaire winner of 2020 in April, March's data is very similar in many respects to the data we collected for February, which tended to show a lot of winners of up to 44,000 in their respective currency, with just a few winners beyond that amount. However, the largest winner still took home a sizeable prize of over 140,000 in their chosen currency.

As has been the case for the first three months of 2020, we have had just one winner over the 100,000 mark in March, although this month's winner was larger than both February and January's top winner by over 20,000. They were the biggest winners at any Casino Rewards Network casino this month, earning over 50,000 more than the next biggest winner.

There were 16 winners of prizes of 20,000 or more in March 2020, but just seven winners earned a prize of over 30,000 in their chosen currency, which is four fewer than in February 2020.

Mobile vs Non-Mobile Winners in March 2020

At the current rate, for the first three months of 2020, the Casino Rewards Network has paid out just over one progressive jackpot prize every day. That rate continues in March 2020 with 34 winners in total at the casinos across the 31 days. That adds to the 32 winners in February and the 38 winners landed in January.

That shows that there are regular consistent winners of the top jackpot prizes at Casino Rewards throughout the first three months of the year, a very positive piece of data for punters to know. Last month, we saw almost 85% of the total winners for February claim their jackpot prize on a mobile device, the largest percentage of wins on mobile since we started recording the data almost a year ago. Will March follow the same trend?

There were six fewer mobile jackpot winners in March 2020, despite there being two more wins landed than in February and that means that the percentage of winners who landed their prize on a mobile device took a nosedive by more than 20% from February to March (84.4% to 61.8%). Indeed February's 61.8% of winners landing their prize on a mobile is the second lowest percentage recorded, just before the 60% of mobile wins in September 2019.

However, this does show that the majority of winners still land their prize on a mobile device and if you look back over the last six months or so, it appears to be that around three-quarters of all jackpot triggers on progressive jackpot games come from players on a mobile device.

We have seen winners on both the Atlantean Treasures and Mega Vault Millionaire slot in March, but I am surprised to see that nobody as yet has claimed the big Wowpot prize on the Wheel of Wishes slot. It is going to be interesting to see how this new slot performs over the first year of its life as at the moment, we only have a limited amount of data on how often it pays out its 2 million seeded top jackpot prize. On the Wheel of Wishes slot, the smaller Major Jackpot has been triggered several times. The largest Major Jackpot was for 329,307.95 in February 2020. This is nothing to sneeze at so we know the Wheel of Wishes is already paying out large jackpots. It is worth noting that there are currently four jackpots offering over a million to winners in the Microgaming progressive network.
