Fight back against the spectres this Halloween with a trio of friendly slots

it is abundantly clear that Microgaming casinos are well stocked when it comes to games to play that fit in with the Halloween theme, and if you want to go back further in time to some older releases, there are even more to choose from.

A little while ago, we brought you our list of five Microgaming slots that you should enjoy over the Halloween period. In this little snapshot of a quintet of games, we recommend that you try among others slots such as Lost Vegas, Halloween, Immortal Romance and Red Hot Devil.

Now that Halloween is on the horizon once again and in truth, if you wanted to play a top class slot, then any of the games listed in that original article would suffice, and I would add a few other potentials to that list including games such as Hot as Hades, Zombie Hoard slot, Wicked Tales Dark Red slot, and the Phantom of the Opera slot to name a few.

But what if you don't happen to like all this Halloween stuff nowadays? I don't want to sound like a killjoy here, but in my day, Halloween existed of either trying your hand at bob-apple (trying to eat an apple from a string) or duck apple (trying to eat an apple in a bath of water) and that was generally about it. We had none of these great celebrations that seem to have come from across the Atlantic Ocean. Trick or Treat was unheard of.

Besides, if you are not particularly fond of entertainment that is designed to shock or frighten you, you might want to take a different approach to Halloween. So I've come up with three slots to play this Halloween that will help you forget about witches on their broom sticks, zombies coming to eat your brains or vampires draining your lifeblood away.

  1. 9 Masks of Fire Slot

One of Microgaming's most recent releases features a rather exciting 5x3 reel set up set against a burning red back drop. Sounds a bit Halloween doesn't it, but actually the 9 Masks of Fire slot is designed to thrill rather than scare.

The reels feature a number of retro symbols including single, double and triple 7 symbols which can be used individually or in conjunction with each other to land wins. Other retro symbols on the reels include bars, bells, dollar signs and cherries.

There's a Free Spins bonus game which is available when you land three of the Free Spins Scatters across the middle three reels. When you trigger it you get one spin of the Free Spin wheel which will allocate you a multiplier bonus and a number of Free Spins to play through based on the outcome of the spin.

There are also up to nine Mask Scatter symbols on the reels, land three or more anywhere across the reels to earn a cash prize, while if you land all nine on the reels in a single spin you could win the top jackpot prize of 2,000 coins. Add to that a high paying Diamond Wild symbol, the highest paying symbol in the base game, and you have a fantastic new addition to the Microgaming stable from Gameburger Studios and one well worth trying this Halloween.

  1. Banana Odyssey

Produced by Slingshot Studios on behalf of Microgaming, the Banana Odyssey slot tells the tale of two space-faring monkeys who are looking to return to their home planet.

There are four standard symbols on the reels including four playing card low symbols, plus the symbols linked with our intrepid Simian space-farers. There's also a Wild symbol and a Scatter, three of which will earn you a cash prize of your stake money back.

The game features the ability to win both ways across the reels and also the Expanding Wilds, which expand across the reel and offer you a free re-spin of the other reels in the game. Any additional Wilds landed also expand and will offer you a free re-spin. The Wilds can only appear on the middle three reels.

Alongside this there is a fantastic Free Spins bonus game. Three Scatters triggers Free Spins which cannot be re-triggered in the base game.

Ps. If you loved the Aurora Wilds slot then Banana Odyssey, will also most certainly keep you amused.

  1. Village People Macho Moves

What better way to banish the demons of Halloween than by slipping the Village People Macho Moves slot onto your device and dancing along to the soundtrack while enjoying a few spins. This six reel slot features each member of the Village People on top of a podium above the reels and as you play, you will collect Village People Wilds, alongside the Standard Wild symbols (which are stacked on the reels).

Highlight all of the five lights under a Village People member and you will trigger the Free Spins bonus game that is associated with them. There are an assortment of bonus features available to play through and each offer a number of sizeable rewards to players.

There's no Scatter on the reels as such, simply the Village People Wild, which when used with other Wilds on the reels can lead to some sizeable base game wins.

The really nice touch however is that you have the Village People jukebox playing through a selection of Village People hits, initially you will hear remade versions of the hits as you play through the base game.

However, when you trigger the main bonus features of the game, you will get snippets of the real Village People song played to you and it is a nice way to celebrate unlocking the feature.

This is a slot that cannot fail to put you in a good mood and will certainly put a smile on your face. As such, if you are not keen on Halloween then this is certainly one slot you should play.
