Immortal Glory slot: What is this forthcoming game all about?

Due for release on the 14th July, Microgaming partner Just For The Win are set to unveil their latest addition to the Microgaming portfolio in the shape of the Immortal Glory slot.

So before we bring you our full review and play-through of the game, we are going to take a look at what this slot is actually about, how it is designed and what some of the key features are in the game.

What is the Immortal Glory slot design?

The first thing to note about the Immortal Glory slot is that the slot is designed around the usual five reels, although this time, there are four symbols displayed on the reels. Four symbols on each reel usually means an increase in the number of pay lines in play and that is the case with the Immortal Glory slot, which has a total of 40 pay lines in play.

Usually, that would mean a minimum bet level of around 0.40, which can be a little excessive for some lower stakes players, however the good news for those players is that you can play this new game from just 0.10 per spin, which is much more affordable, though those players that have deeper pockets can ramp up the action to 25.00 per spin. That bet range gives all players plenty of scope to play at the bet level they prefer.

There is, as you would expect, an Autoplay feature which allows you to play through between 10 and 100 spins in that mode and a QuickSpin feature is also available for you to play through your spins much more quickly.

Wins start with 3 matching symbols and you win on average around once every five spins. However one thing to note is that Just For The Win have designed Immortal Glory to be a very high variance game, even higher than a number of higher variance offerings released by Microgaming over the past few months, so this is a game which, if you do not treat it with a little respect, could take a hefty chunk out of your bankroll, though of course, the flip side of that is that it can offer some decent rewards too.

They start at around 2,000x your bet in the base game, but if you manage to land the biggest feature in the game, the Gold Jackpot, that increases to a massive 10,000x your bet.

There is also an impressive orchestral score that plays alongside your game that fits the theme of the slot very nicely, which we will discover in the section below.

What is the theme of the Immortal Glory slot?

This year should have been an Olympic year and the Immortal Glory slot, although sounding like it should be about Gods and other immortal heroes, is actually about the Olympic games, although it is more focused on the ancient Olympics that were held in Greece.

The reels are set against a backdrop of a large open-air stadium giving you a competitor's viewpoint while you play the slot. The Olympics theme is also enhanced by a number of symbols on the reels which includes items you would have found in the ancient Olympics, such as the discus, shot-put or the olive wreath, which was traditionally placed on the heads of the winners at those early Olympic tournaments.

Symbols can be stacked on the reels and there are a number of higher value symbols which includes both make and female athletes who can fill entire reels with their symbols. The Wild is also a nice touch as it is the Olympic Torch, with the Olympic Flame burning brightly in it. This too can appear stacked on the reels. It is also the in-game Scatter symbol as we will discover when we look at more of the features of the slot below.

What are some of the main features of the Immortal Glory slot?

The main feature of the slot in the base game is the Wild symbol. This can appear on any of the five reels and they serve simply as a standard Wild in these instances substituting for the other symbols on the reels.

There is no Scatter symbol in the Immortal Glory slot, but instead the Wild triggers the Free Spins bonus round. To do this you need to land the Wild symbol on the first reel and then land another Wild symbol on one of the other remaining four reels. If you can do this, then you receive 5 Free Spins with a special bonus, Nudging Wilds.

This means that on your Free Spins, the Wilds can nudge up or down around the reels on each Free Spin to offer you a better chance of a win. If you turn a reel completely Wild, then the Stacked Wild drops off the reels for the next Free Spin. Each Free Spin will see a number of Nudging Wilds placed on the reels and if you can land several, you can land some of the higher value winning combinations available in the game.

When you reach your fifth and final Free Spin, if you have a Wild left on the reel after it, ten you trigger the final part of the Free Spins bonus, the Glory Spin. Here, a brand new wheel will appear on the screen and you will see on it a number of multiplier values, 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x. The wheel will spin and whatever you won on your Glory Spin will see the multiplier added to, which can lead to a maximum win of 2000x your bet.

The final feature of the slot to note is the Jackpot Bonus feature, which is triggered by landing the Gemstone Jackpot symbol on the first, third and fifth reels on a single spin. When you do, you will trigger the bonus which will offer you a chance to win one of the three jackpot prizes available. The Bronze is worth 20x your bet, the Silver is worth 100x your bet and land the Gold to take home a massive 10,000x your bet, the largest win available in the game.

With so many features and a rather exciting new look, we can't wait to try out the Immortal Glory slot later this week. Stay tuned for more details about the slot and what it has to offer, plus an exclusive video play through of 50 spins later this week.
