Major Jackpot winner on the Major Millions slot claims 1.2 million prize

As the Mega Moolah top progressive prize just eclipsed the 11 million mark, it is worth reminding ourselves that it is not just this game which offers players a chance to land a million plus prize. That is because another player has just landed a fantastic win of over 1.2 million playing the Major Millions slot.

The win comes just five weeks or so after the last million-plus winner on this older Microgaming progressive, when that player landed a cash prize of 1.06 million back on the 12th June 2020.

So, with two millionaire winners over the past five weeks or so, what is it about the Major Millions slot that makes such engaging fun for slot players? Well, let's take a closer look at some of the key details of this famous game.

What is Major Millions?

Available in a three-reel or five-reel version, both of which offer the same chance of triggering the progressive jackpot prize on offer, Major Millions is one of Microgaming's older progressive jackpot slot games and has paid out a number of big money winners over the year.

The theme of the slot is the military with a more American slant, with the eponymous Major Millions being the key character in the game (and also featuring in the crucial role of the in game Wild, which we will talk about in a little more detail later).

The three and five reel versions of the game are similar in many respects, but also different in others and each plays slightly differently to the other game, however we are going to mainly focus on the 5-reel version in this review as that is generally the more commonly played variant of the game.

The five-reel game sees a 5x3 reel set up and 15 selectable pay lines in play. Coins are of a fixed value of 0.20 per spin and to stand a chance of landing the progressive jackpot prize you need to wager that 0.20 on all 15 pay lines. That means that it is 3.00 per spin if you want to land a shot at the jackpot prize.

The game also comes with an "expert mode" which when activated allows you to use features such as Autoplay, which is a nice touch if you can't sit and hit the spin button each time. The progressive jackpot amount, which is currently back at just over 250,000, is also displayed prominently at the top of the screen.

There is no Free Spins bonus included in the game, but there are Wilds, as we have mentioned previously these are the Major Millions character and they are crucial in landing some of the bigger value wins in the game.

To win the jackpot in the game you need to land the Major Millions Wild across any of the first 14 pay lines. If you do, then you win the top base game jackpot of 8,000 coins (which would be worth £1,600).

However, if you can land all five Major Millions Wilds on the 15th and final winning line, then this is when you will trigger the top jackpot prize and land whatever it is at when you play the slot, just as one lucky player did when triggering their 1.2 million prize on the 21st June 2020.

What do we know about the Major Millions winner?

At the moment, given that it has been such a short time between the winner landing their prize and the cash award being made, we do not have any information about which player landed the win, or indeed what casino they landed their win at. However, given that the Progressive Jackpot on Major Millions is seeded at £250,000, and that its now just slightly above that amount, it appears that the winner landed their prize while playing in British Pounds.

Unfortunately, that is about as much as we tend to find out about these Major Millions jackpot winners as these players tend to keep their identity a secret and it is generally rare for a player to seek publicity when they have landed a win nowadays.

What we do know is that a £1.2 million prize would be enough for them to purchase some rather nice items.

  • A 2 bedroom flat in the heart of London or maybe a luxury house in Cornwall
  • Or perhaps a sprawling Scottish estate home with plenty of land
  • A McLaren Senna supercar
  • You could also pay Cristiano Ronaldo's weekly wage for a couple of weeks (around $663,000 per week).
  • or you could buy around 1000 ounces of the highest grade gold.

What other games have a jackpot worth over one million?

If you fancy a taste of the luxury lifestyle a big money win could land you, then you may be interested to know there are a number of other Microgaming slots that currently offer a top jackpot prize of over a million at the time of writing.

Top of that list has to be the Mega Moolah slot's progressive Mega Jackpot prize, which just smashed through the 11 million mark and which, when won, will pay out its tenth ten million-plus winner since the game first began. Remember too, you can play for this jackpot on the original Mega Moolah slot, plus new releases Atlantean Treasures and Absolootly Mad as well as the Casino Rewards exclusive Mega Vault Millionaire.

Alternatively, there is the brand new Wheel of Wishes slot which was released just a few months ago and which has a top prize currently of 4.8 million and rising. Seeded at 2 million, this new game is yet to see its first top jackpot winner, although there have been a number of players to have landed the second top jackpot prize, often worth in excess of hundreds of thousands.

Finally, the King Cashalot slot is also worth over a million at the present moment with the jackpot ticking along nicely at just over 1.1 million. This slot can be played from 2.25 per spin on its 9 pay lines and it is seeded at 100,000, so you can see that it has been running a good while for the jackpot to climb that high.

So if you fancy trying your luck to see if maybe you could be the next big winner, you know which of the Microgaming progressive jackpot network slots to try.
