Major Millions player wins big using free birthday bonus cash
What could be better than winning just over 1 million dollars when playing a progressive jackpot slot with free cash?
It may seem impossible to improve on such a win, but how about winning that money, without risking a single penny of your own cash in the process?
That is precisely what happened recently to one lucky punter, known only as A.F. from the Netherlands, when he won a prize of €738,479 when playing the Major Millions progressive slot.
As reported by the Casino Rewards group on the WBOC 16 Press Release site, the lucky Dutchman, who is a self-confessed novice player when it comes to online casinos, achieved his victory without having to spend any of his own cash.
A.F. explained "The casino had sent me a 50 euro gift for my birthday, so I decided to use it to place some bets on my favourite game, Major Millions."
"The jackpot was over 700,000 euros and I was using free money, so I had nothing to lose!"
One of the common myths about online casino gambling and in particular big jackpot wins is that the casino software somehow 'knows' you are using bonus cash, or promotional cash to play and as such, will not allow a large payout.
Mr A.F. dispelled that myth in spectacular fashion when just a few seconds after starting to play, something incredible happened.
"Two minutes later and the reels started flashing and the bells started ringing"
A.F. had landed one of the biggest ever jackpots on the Major Millions slot ever. "I couldn't believe it," he told press after his lucky win.
"I'm going to buy a new house with the money I won!"
It was also something of a first for A.F. in other ways too as he was playing on his chosen game using his mobile phone, which is something he did not usually do.
"It was the first time I'd played casino using my iPhone," he revealed. "Normally I use my computer, but I love being able to play outside."
Certainly the combination of cool Dutch winter air and A.F.'s iPhone seemed to work wonders, although there the press release falsely claimed that this win sets a new record in the history of mobile gambling.
In fact a player won 3.7 million euros on the Mega Moolah not too long ago. Read about it here.
While nobody is doubting that A.F.'s win on his iPhone represents one of the biggest ever progressive jackpot wins in the history of mobile gaming, the assertion that this was the biggest win is not accurate. However it is certainly true that the win was the biggest for a mobile player on the Major Millions progressive slot.
So while A.F.'s win may not be the biggest in history as has been reported, it certainly looks like it is the second largest mobile win at the time of writing. His win easily beats another Mega Moolah jackpot winner, Jason A from New Zealand who won NZ$1.06m in May 2013, just four months before Gabriel L's 3.7 million euro win.
It has also been reported that a mobile player, an unnamed 50 year old, won £1,448,150.01 in August 2013, when playing on his smartphone at Party Casino.
In which case A.F.'s win, may only be the third biggest via mobile!
It certainly seems like 2014 could be the year when the mobile gambling jackpot win gets smashed time and time again. As more and more punters decide to use their phone or tablet to play at online casinos and on the progressive slots, it seems only a matter of time before these jackpot barriers are smashed through once again.
This has been shown already by Betsson Casino, where the company has awarded two jackpot winners out in the space of a few days in early 2014.
One lucky player won €2.5m playing Mega Fortune via his PC on autoplay, while Mega Fortune also paid out its first mobile jackpot win of €650,000 just a few days later.
These mobile jackpot wins have come a long way from 2012, when William Hill announced that one of their punters had won a then record £341,259 playing via his iPhone in London.
With more people able to play via mobile, more progressive jackpot games to play, more money swelling the coffers of the mobile jackpots, it seems certain that over the next few years these mobile jackpots may well be smashed repeatedly.
The big question is, which player will be the lucky person to follow in the footsteps of A.F. and be the next big Mega Moolah mobile jackpot winner?
