Mega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot comes with a Mad Hatters Tea Party theme
After the release of two new Mega Moolah-powered slots in the past few months, we now have the third new Mega Moolah-powered slot to hit casinos set to be released in early May.
That slot is the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot and it has been designed by Triple Edge Studios as part of their agreement with Microgaming.
In this article, we are going to learn a little about the slot game itself, give you some ideas on where you can play the game but first and foremost, we are going to discover exactly what the slot is based on and how that theme runs throughout the game itself.
What is the theme of the Absolootly Mad slot?
The theme of the Absolootly Mad slot is the Mad Hatters Tea Party, which is an event that occurred in both the Disney Film and the Lewis Carroll book of Alice in Wonderland or as it is properly titles, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
A young girl called Alice falls through a rabbit hole and emerges in a strange and wondrous land which is filled with crazed playing card characters, talking cats, strange twins, time obsessed rabbits and of course, the Mad Hatter himself.
In chapter seven of the book, Alice along with a number of other characters such as the March Hare and the Dormouse, are invited to a tea party, hosted by the Mad Hatter and it is this part of the book which is most directly linked with the slot.
The links are easy to spot. We have a number of characters from the film on the reels including he march hare adorning the top of a cake, a grinning Cheshire cat made of jelly, the rabbit's stopwatch, cups and of course the Mad Hatter himself as the highest of the base game symbols.
There's also a nice touch in that the Scatter symbol that leads to Free Spins is the wooden door which Alice first passes through to enter Wonderland. There is also a Golden Teapot which is used to collect the Wild gold coin symbols (which is part of the process of standing a chance of landing the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot prizes).
Add to that a rather jaunty soundtrack that had me in mind of the Tim Burton version of the film and which perfectly encapsulates the somewhat weird, off-key nature of the story and you have about as good an interpretation of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party as you are likely to find on any slot.
What else do I need to know about the Absolootly Mad slot?
So now we know what the Absolootly Mad slot is about, what else do we need to know about this new game? Well, the first thing is that it is going to be released in May 2020, with a release date of the 5th May being mooted by a number of different sources that have usually proved reliable in the past. We should get confirmation of this from Microgaming when they announce their May releases early in the month.
What you will find is that this is a 5x3 reel slot that is different to other Mega Moolah slots in a couple of key ways. First off, it is the first 243 Ways to Win slot that offers a shot at the Mega Moolah jackpot prizes and secondly, it is also the first Mega Moolah slot that incorporates both Rolling Reels and a Multiplier Trail into the game.
Rolling Reels means that instead of standard reels, symbols drop down from above on each spin. When you land a win, these symbols pay you out and then disappear, and symbols from above drop in to fill in the gaps on the reels. These drops can see you trigger additional wins which are called Rolling Reel wins.
When you land successive Rolling Reels wins, the Multiplier Trail kicks in and for each successive Rolling Reels win, the multiplier increases from 1x to 2x to 3x to 5x after which any further Rolling Reels wins are also paid at 5x. When a Rolling Reel turn does not produce a win, the bonus ends and the trail sets itself back to the the initial 1x multiplier for the next trigger.
There's a Free Spins bonus game available on the Mad Hatter slot and this also has the Rolling Reels and Multiplier Trail features in action, although for this part of the game, the Multiplier Trail values are each increased by 3x the usual amount, so Multiplier Trail wins in Free Spins go from 3x up to 15x the standard win amount.
The jackpot in the Free Spins round is 2343x your bet, which is a not inconsiderable amount, but you could also win any of the four progressive jackpot prizes that are part of the Mega Moolah jackpot.
A chance to do this comes from collecting the gold coin Wild symbols in the Golden Teapot which is located at the top of the reels. When you trigger a Rolling Reels win, any coins you have collected in the teapot will give you a chance of triggering a shot at the Jackpot Bonus Game. The more coins you have collected and the higher the value of your bet, the more chance you have of triggering a shot at the jackpots.
If you do earn that chance, then you will see a familiar item as the Mad Hatter slot sees the return of a Jackpot Bonus Wheel. This wheel is very similar to the original wheel in the Mega Moolah slot and you simply spin the wheel to win one of the four jackpot prizes available, including the Mega jackpot which today passed through the £10 million mark once again!
