Microgaming announce deal with Neon Valley Studios

Over the last year or so, Microgaming have been busy rapidly expanding their business in a number of ways and one of the most eye-catching of these, especially in terms of the slot gamer, is the company's strategy to sign partnership deals with slots development companies from all over the world.

Well fresh on the announcement that they have agreed a deal with Gameburger Studios just a few days ago, Microgaming have announced another new deal, this time with Las Vegas-based Neon Valley Studios and alongside this announcement, as is customary it seems, the first game as a result of this partnership has also been released.

The deal is the ninth such deal Microgaming have signed in recent times and there is no doubt that having so many partner studios has helped enrich the quality and increase the number of releases that the company makes throughout the year.

Speaking about the new agreement, the Chief Executive Officer at Microgaming John Coleman stated:

"Our studios strategy is designed to bring greater choice, innovation and quality to the market. Neon Valley have years of collective gaming industry knowledge and expertise, not to mention their own distinctive style and personality, and we are delighted to add them to our global roster of independent game studios."

In response to this, the Senior Creative and Technical Designer at Neon Valley Studios, Brian Perego said:

"At Neon Valley Studios, we are dedicated to producing polished games of the highest quality, injecting our knowledge of slot design through synergistic integration of game mechanics, visuals and the latest technology.

"Our relentless drive to create engaging gaming experiences for players is founded on our passion for games and the latest technological developments. We are delighted to bring 'the spirit of Vegas' to Microgaming on an exclusive basis."

Who Are Neon Valley Studios?

Neon Valley Studios were founded in 2019 and are based out of Las Vegas and are a global gaming studio that according to their website "create innovative and fresh online gaming content that gives online players in non-US markets a modern Vegas experience."

The company uses the inspiration of its location in the city of Vegas and its surrounding area to inspire their choice of slot games and to give players a Vegas style slots experience, regardless of where they are playing in the world.

Their first titled they have released is the Aurora Wilds slot, which was released across the Microgaming network of casinos day after their partnership deal with Microgaming was announced.

Aurora Wilds Released

The news of the link up came on the day that Microgaming announced their latest slot game, Aurora Wilds, which Neon Valley have produced exclusively for the Isle of Man company as the first game as part of the new partnership.

The slot, which we will review in full tomorrow, is a five-reel game with ten pay lines in play and it is based on the famous Aurora Borealis phenomenon that can be seen at certain latitudes in the night sky. It occurs when charged particles from the sun interact with the Earth's magnetic fields to produce stunning colourful displays in the night sky.

The game features a Jackpot Wheel, bi-directional pay lines, Expanding Wilds and re-spins and it hit Microgaming casinos on 10th September 2019.

Speaking about the release, Brian Perego of Neon Valley Studios stated:

"We're delighted to see our first creation go live across Microgaming's extensive operator network. Aurora Wilds pays homage to one of nature's most amazing phenomena and is designed to captivate and reward players with fluid gameplay and big jackpots."

James Buchanon the Director of Global Operations at Microgaming commented:

"Aurora Wilds is an enchanting addition to the Microgaming portfolio that features exciting game mechanics with respins and jackpots. The team at Neon Valley have set themselves a high bar with this superb debut slot, which includes absorbing visuals and sounds and has excellent win potential."

Microgaming's Partners

This latest announcement of a deal with Neon. Valley Studios brings the total number of studios that Microgaming has agreed a partnership deal with to nine. The full list of studios that now produce exclusive content for Microgaming is as follows:

These new partnerships have already seen a number of top new slots released over the past year or so with games such as Fortunium, Agent Jane Blonde Returns, Le Kaffee Bar and Break Da Bank Again Respins just some of the titles that have been entrusted to these affiliate companies.

In addition to signing up talented studio development teams, Microgaming has been ensuring that its slots reach a wider audience with a number of other deals to distribute slots more widely, with the company agreeing deals with the likes of Rootz Ltd, SKS365, BGO, Mansion and 888 Casino to host its games, as well as expanding into new territories with supply deals with companies in Denmark, Czech Republic, Colombia, Bulgaria and Italy all announced over the past year or so.

The latest deal with Neon Valley Studios is further emphasis, if it were needed, that Microgaming are in the process of a drastic change in strategy, moving away from producing titles in-house to distribute across Microgaming affiliated casinos, to a much broader canvas where the company has many partners producing exclusive content and where it will be distributed across a much broader range of sites in an ever-increasing number of countries.

Given the sheer number of games released in 2019 alone, it is remarkable that Microgaming and its partners have managed to maintain such a high quality of game over such an extensive period and it is vindication for a bold strategic move to diversify its business away from in-house production.

It is going to be interesting to see if Aurora Wilds manages to match or even surpass the quality of recent releases when we review the game in full tomorrow.
