Microgaming busy themselves with a trio of top game releases in a single day
One thing that has been extremely noticeable from Microgaming over the past 12-18 months, pretty much ever since the company changed strategy and started to utilise other development companies to produce games, rather than producing them in-house, is that the sheer number of game releases over that period has increased markedly.
Having signed deals with a large number of companies, all of which are busy producing a number of different slots and games exclusively for Microgaming at any one time, this has led to string of newly released games hitting casinos at regular intervals over the last year and a half.
However, today was something of a special day for Microgaming as we saw the release of not just one new game, but actually three different games for casinos. One a fantastic new slot game from Rabcat called Treasure Heroes, the second an exciting new Scratchcard game based on the hugely popular Avalon slot and lastly, an exciting new card game Classic Blackjack Six Deck.
Furthermore, these trio of games came just a short time after another brand-new release, Attack on Retro by Triple Edge Studios was also introduced into casinos.
In this article, we are going to give you a bit more detail about each of the new releases that Microgaming have released over the past week, all of which came a short time after the massive and eagerly awaited general release of the massively popular Atlantean Treasures: Mega Moolah slot.
Let's begin by taking a look at the game that was released first this week ahead of the trio of releases.
Attack on Retro
Produced by Triple Edge Studios, the Attack on Retro slot is a rather enjoyable romp back in time in an alternative reality to the 1980s, where we see a Blade Runner style cityscape and an assortment of neon objects, as well as our two protagonists Jesse and Billy populating the reels.
Attack on Retro features the Hyperspins game mode, which means that after every spin, players can elect to spin one of the reels for the stated price. Of course, the more chance you have of landing a bigger value win, or triggering the Free Spins bonus for example, then the more expensive it will be to spin that particular reel.
Blessed with eye-catching visuals and outstanding sound, the 80's feel runs throughout the game in the symbols and audio environment. To help you land wins there are two Wilds on the reels, Jesse and Billy, who can be single, double or triple stacked and who offer the top value prize of 100x your bet if you can land five of the same Wild across the reels. You can mix Wilds too, but the value of your prize is halved if this is the case.
There is also a Random Wilds bonus which can trigger at any point in the base game and which can add up to 15 Wilds to the reels. You can also trigger a Free Spins bonus game where you get to pick from there different options, 2 spins with a 5x multiplier, 5 spins with a 2x multiplier or 10 spins with a 1x multiplier. You can also land more Free Spins by landing two or three Scatters in your bonus spins.
Triple Edge Studios have produced a cracker here that will be loved by anyone into the 80s feel or indeed slot gamers looking for an innovative and superbly put together game.
Treasure Heroes
Treasure Heroes is a fantastic new slot game from Rabcat that was released on the same day as the two games we have previewed below. Eagerly awaited after a good promotional campaign before the game release, Treasure Heroes is a slot game different to most as it is played on a 5x5 grid and features Cluster Pays, where clusters of six or more symbols combine to produce wins.
The slot features the standard Wild symbols and a Free Spins bonus round that sees a number of Fixed Wilds in play on the reels for the duration of your Free Spins, however it is the Moving Walls bonus that has so many people excited about what the game offers.
After every winning spin, the Moving Walls bonus will trigger and shift around the symbols on the reels into a new formation. This can in turn trigger additional Cluster Pays wins and you can put together several of these Moving Walls wins together to turn a small value win into a much larger one.
Complete with the high quality of production you would expect from a Rabcat slot, Treasure Heroes is in casinos right now and is well worth a closer look for any slot fans seeking something a little different to your standard 5x3 reel, pay line slot.
Avalon Scratchcard
The Avalon slot game was one of Microgaming's biggest hits in years gone by. Based on Arthurian legend, the game also featured one of the biggest jackpots available and it remains a popular choice for players to play to this very day. Given that we have seen the likes of Lucky Leprechaun, Immortal Romance, Lost Vegas and Happy Holidays all see a scratchcard version, it is now time for Avalon to enjoy the same treatment.
The game is very much as you would expect, each slot card has nine sectors and you click on each to reveal the symbols hidden beneath. A total of six symbols are on the reels and you need to match three of the same symbols anywhere on the card in order to win.
The King is the lowest paying symbol offering 2x your bet as a win amount. The ace offers 4x, the goblet is 10x, the brooch is 25x, the coat of arms is 75x and the largest prize is the crown which offers 1000x your bet.
For simple quick gaming based on a classic slot, then the Avalon Scratchcard is hard to beat.
Classic Blackjack Six Deck
Switch Studios have been responsible for refreshing a number of different card and table games for Microgaming over the last year or so and they have released a number of variations of popular casino games including a wide selection of blackjack games such as European Blackjack, Atlantic City Blackjack, Vegas Strip Blackjack, Vegas Downtown Blackjack, Classic Blackjack and Vegas Single Deck Blackjack.
We have also seen European Roulette, Baccarat and American Roulette released by the company and now they have added another new game to their selection, and this is another Blackjack variant.
The game is Classic Blackjack Six Deck, which is essentially the same kind of game as the original Classic Blackjack, but this time with six decks in play. That is key as the original blackjack was a game played with a single deck and which, originally at least, did not see the hand shuffled (although this rule has been altered online).
Playing with six decks does introduce a new dynamic to the game and the potential is there for players to make a number of other side bets. You can play Classic Blackjack Six Deck at all top Casino Rewards Network and Microgaming licensed casinos.
