Microgaming release two Scratchcard Games and a new version of Roulette

August has certainly been a busy month for Microgaming with a number of new games released by the company, including many developed for them by third party software studios as part of their partnership agreement with the Isle of Man-based company.

We have already reviewed the newly released Break Da Bank Again Respins slot, which hit casinos just a few days ago in August 2019, and we have also seen the release of two other slot games in August including Tiki Vikings slot and Relic Seekers slot.

However, it is not just in terms of slots that Microgaming have been busy. Part of their agreements with third party developers has been for them to develop a new range of Microgaming casino games and also Scratchcard games based on some of the company's most popular slot games and this month we have seen the release of three of these types of games.

Sapphire Roulette

A short time ago, Microgaming started releasing a new batch of casino games which started with a new version of American Roulette back in November 2018. A new version of Roulette (available with premium desktop) followed in March 2019 and then this was followed by a version of European Blackjack in May 2019.

Now the fourth game in that sequence has been released and this is called Sapphire Roulette, which hit Microgaming casinos in August 2019.

This is another beautifully presented version of roulette which goes with the single zero wheel (which means a lower house edge and a greater chance of a win for the player). The presentation of the game is immaculate with the animation of the roulette wheel spinning being as close to the real thing as you can get in an online casino game.

As well as the standard layout for your roulette bets, which feature all the most popular inner and outer bets, there is also a racetrack betting option available which allows punters to make some of the less-familiar roulette bets.

In addition to this extra layout, there is also a Hot and Cold indicator. This will show you which numbers have been the ones that the ball has landed in most frequently in the Hot section, while the ones that have been landed in most infrequently will be shown in the Cold section, although you do need to play through a high number of spins for the information in these to become more relevant to you (although they should be used for information only, not as a guide to inform your bets).

With bets starting at just 1.00 per spin, this is a game that can be played by all and if you are a fan of single zero roulette, you won't find a much better example of the game anywhere else online.

Lucky Leprechaun Scratchcard

Microgaming's Lucky Leprechaun slot is one of the most recognisable games from the company. Based on an Irish-theme and featuring a whole cast of jolly Leprechauns, the game is a 20 pay line slot with five reels offering a 1,000 coin jackpot. The Free Spins bonus also comes with a 2x multiplier and the Leprechaun can turn Wild during the Free Spins round.

The game has proven to be a very big hit with customers since its release and it is therefore unsurprising that Microgaming have chosen it to be one of their first slot-themed Scratchcard game releases.

The Lucky Leprechaun Scratchcard was released in August and it offers a slightly different approach to other Scratchcard games you can play, which neatly combines elements of slot games, with a scratchcard approach.

You can select how much you want to bet per game, this ranges from 0.25 per game up to 50.00 per game for higher rollers. Once you have set your bet size, you are then ready to play.

To win, you need to match three of the same symbols on the nine spaces on the Scratchcard. The six symbols are symbols from the slot game and include a pipe, pints of Guinness, a fiddle, the leprechaun, a four leafed clover and lastly, the highest value prize is a pot of gold which pays 750x your stake.

Winnings range from 1x your bet up to that jackpot 750x. Simply click the play button, as you would on a slot, to play the scratchcard which is revealed on screen and if you have matched three symbols anywhere in the nine boxes, you are a winner.

This is a nice addition to the Microgaming portfolio as it combines elements of Scratchcard games and slots very nicely and it is easy to see why it should have broad appeal to fans of both types of casino entertainment.

Immortal Romance Scratchcard

The Immortal Romance slot is one of the most famous Microgaming slot games. Based on the same slot engine that powered the mighty Thunderstruck II, Immortal Romance delivered an even larger multi-million coin jackpot and a fantastic quest-themed bonus round which saw four different Free Spins bonuses available to be unlocked by the player.

The Immortal Romance scratchcard game follows on from the slot and keeps the four main characters of the game Amber, Troy, Michael and Sarah at the heart of the game-play as these characters are once again at the centre of the action in the scratchcard as four of the scratchcards six different symbols.

Wins range from 1x your bet up to 500x your bet and you can bet from 0.25 per game up to 50.00 per game as you see fit. As with the Lucky Leprechaun scratchcard, you need to land three of the same symbol on your card to be a winner.

The game-play on the Immortal Romance Scratchcard is very much the same as the Lucky Leprechaun scratchcard, only the highest possible win on the Immortal Romance scratchcard is slightly less than on the other (500x compared to 750x) which may well influence which of the two games you are going to want to play.

I am absolutely certain that there will be plenty of other scratchcard games set to be released based on popular Microgaming slots over the coming months and my money is on a Mega Moolah one to be among those set for release in the next 12 months or so, or perhaps a Casino Rewards branded Mega Moolah slot!
