Playing Mega Vault Millionaire slot on AutoPlay and QuickSpin modes (video)
Welcome to another article in our series regarding all aspects of the Casino Rewards Network exclusive Mega Moolah-powered slot, Mega Vault Millionaire and in this article, we are going to focus on a comparison between two different aspects of the game which a player can easily select.
It is your option to play the game at standard spin speed, or at a faster spin speed. If you have never tried this before we recommend giving it a try.
How do I select the spin speed on Mega Vault Millionaire?
There are a couple of ways you can do this but the easiest and most convenient is to use the button that looks like a lightning bolt which is to the left of the main spin button. When you click this and it turns orange (and the spin button also turns orange), this means that the QuickSpin mode has been activated and the game will play this way, both when clicking the spin button or when using the AutoPlay feature.
If the button is deselected, then the game defaults back to the standard spin mode. You can also turn this feature off and on from game setting menus, although they are not quite so easily accessed.
What is the difference between standard spin and QuickSpin mode?
The difference between standard spin and QuickSpin mode is obviously the speed at which each spin is resolved, but there are actually a couple of other differences between the two which are not quite as noticeable.
Now, if you are thinking "well the outcome of a spin is not decided until the final reel lands, surely?" then you need to dispel that line of thinking. On an online slot, the outcome of your spin is decided by a random number generator within a millionth of a second or so of you clicking the spin button.
The rest of the time displaying the reels, is simply for effect and to replicate the feel of playing a real-world slot game as you would in a casino. This is how casinos are able to allow online games to have different play speed options. They could, if they so wanted, have the outcome of spins displayed almost instantaneously as you click on the button.
So the main difference in standard spin and QuickSpin mode is that the reels resolve themselves much more quickly in QuickSpin mode, usually in under a second. Whereas in standard spins mode, the reels take a few seconds in order to spin and then come to rest.
One big difference is that in standard spin mode, each reel stops in succession from the leftmost reel to the right one after the other, but in QuickSpin mode, each of the five reels resolves at the same time.
It is important to note that playing in either mode does not increase or decrease your chances of a win, nor does it affect your chances of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game. It is simply that one mode allows you to play the game much more quickly than the other.

What is the best mode to play?
This is the key aspect when it comes to deciding which of the two spin modes to play the game in and for me, to get a genuine slots experience, the standard mode is the most appealing of the two in most circumstances.
There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, it is more aligned with a genuine slots experience as you would get playing in a casino or similar, secondly, the way the reels reveal themselves mean that it is more exciting for the player on each spin and perhaps the most important issue is that the slower pace of the game means that you are spending your money considerably more slowly than you would be playing the QuickSpin method.
A good example of why standard spins are more exciting is the Scatter symbol. In the QuickSpin mode, each reel resolves itself at the same time and very quickly, so you see the outcome of the spin immediately. However, in the standard mode, you can land the Scatter and then see whether you can land a second and then third (or more) on the other reels to trigger Free Spins. In this way, you get the excitement building as you unlock one, then two Scatters and try to land that third to trigger the bonus. You don't have that in the QuickSpin mode.
However, there are a couple of scenarios when playing the QuickSpin mode is a better option for you. The first of these is when you have a limited amount of time to play the slot, for example, if you are on a lunch break at work, or you are catching 10 or 15 minutes break or so before you have to go and do something else.
If you want to maximise the number of spins you can play in a set amount of time, then the QuickSpin option is by far the more sensible one to take. Similarly, if you are going to play using the AutoPlay mode while you are busy doing something else, then a QuickSpin option is better as you can play through your spins more quickly and it doesn't really matter how they resolve as if you are doing something else, then you won't be seeing the results of each spin anyway.
If you are a player who also spends very long sessions on the slot, then the QuickSpin option may be a better choice for you too as it can cut the amount of time you need to play say 500 spins on the slot, quite considerably.
One thing I would suggest though when using any QuickSpin or AutoPlay feature is to use the Loss and Win limiters to ensure that you only spend as much money as you are comfortable losing on your spins, plus if you do hit a sizeable win, then the game will stop and you can then decide what to do with the cash, rather than continuing on your AutoPlay spins and perhaps spending a good chunk of what you have won.
Triggering Free Spins during QuickSpin and AutoPlay
One thing to note here is that on Mega Vault Millionaire, your AutoPlay session will terminate if you trigger the Free Spins bonus round and your QuickSpins will be temporarily halted while you play through your bonus spins.
In addition, the game will wait for you to click to play through your Free Spins bonus, so if it triggers, the game may pause and await your input to continue. You will never miss out on a Free Spins bonus round if it is triggered, even if you lose your connection, as the game will restart from where it was interrupted when you log back in.
Free Spins are played at standard speed but when the bonus is complete, you will return back to the bonus game and if you had QuickSpins activated, it will still be activated once the game returns back to base game mode.
However, if you were in the middle of an AutoPlay session, then you will need to reset that back up as the game does not remember how many spins you had played of your original session.
The same situation is true if you trigger the Jackpot Bonus Wheel game on any spin in the base game and the game will pause when the bonus has triggered, to allow you to manually click the start of he spin of the first wheel out of a potential three to play through.
The importance of winning, or not, on your spin speed in Mega Vault Millionaire
If there is one other factor that can influence the speed at which you play through your spins on the Mega Vault Millionaire slot then it is how much you win during your session and in particular, how many times you trigger the Free Spins bonus round.
We have already noted that Free Spins are played at standard speed and that the game will pause for your input before the Free Spins round commences. Therefore if you trigger a few Free Spins bonus rounds in your session, or re-trigger Free Spins from within the bonus round as can happen relatively frequently, then you may find the number of spins you play in a session is reduced.
However, conversely, if you have a session where you don't hit Free Spins at all, or you have relatively few wins from your base game spins, then you can play through a great deal more spins in this session.
Obviously, it is much more beneficial to a player to play through fewer spins and trigger more wins and more Free Spins bonuses (or maybe even the Jackpot Bonus Wheel feature), so this is obviously a best case scenario when it comes to measuring how many spins you can play in a set amount of time. Sometimes, fewer spins can be more beneficial to a player!
In our accompanying video, you can see that playing through 10 Spins in standard mode takes much longer than in QuickSpin mode and this gives you a great idea of how both modes work and which one will appeal most to you.
