Should I Autoplay or Quickspin the Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah slot?
You may recall that on the 8th May 2020, the Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah slot saw it's first player land the top jackpot prize.
That player earned a prize of over NZ$13.6 million simply for spinning the reels on one of the newer Mega Moolah slot games available to play. Now there is no way of knowing whether the lucky winner (or indeed, the latest lucky jackpot winner on the 24th May), landed their prize playing standard spins or using Autoplay or Quickspin features, but are they features that you should use?
In this article, we will look at the reasons both for, and against, using the Autoplay and Quickspin features on the Atlantean Treasures, or indeed any of the Mega Moolah slots. However, before we do that, let's assume that some people are new to slot games and may not understand what either of these features are. In which case, let's clearly define what we mean by each as although some people think they mean the same thing, they most definitely do not.
What is Autoplay?
Autoplay is a feature on a slot game which, when selected, can be used by a player to automate a selected number of spins, for a selected price per spin. All you need to do to activate this on a Mega Moolah slot, is to select the price per spin you want to play, click on the Autoplay button on the screen and then select the number of spins you want the Autoplay feature to play through for you. This can be anywhere from just a few spins (say 10, 20 or 25), up to several more (100, although some slots allow you to play 250 or even 500 spins at a time).
On some games, you may have to put in place some parameters for the Autoplay feature to adhere to, such as specifying an amount of money which, if won, would stop the Autoplay feature immediately, or the flip side of that, specifying an amount of money which if lost in total, would also stop the Autoplay feature.
One thing to note with Autoplay is that you can stop it at any time, usually by clicking the Autoplay button, clicking on the Spin button or similar. In addition, if you trigger a bonus game, such as the Free Spins bonus round on the Mega Moolah slot, then the Autoplay feature may stop and may not restart once the bonus has been played through. So, you may need to start it again if you wish to continue with your spins in this way thereafter.
The Autoplay feature is an ideal function for players that want to play spins on a slot, but who may have other things to attend to, or who may need to pop away from their mobile or computer for a short while, but want their spins to continue. It is also perfect for those who don't want to keep clicking the spin button for each spin of the reels on any game.
What is Quickspin?
The Quickspin feature simply increases the speed at which a spin is resolved, and it can be used on standard spins, or on Autoplay spins. You can access the Quickspin feature in two ways on the slot. First you can click on the button that looks like a lightning bolt. This enables quickspin on all spins (including Autoplay spins) until such a time that you click the button into the off position.
However, if you are clicking the Spin button to play your spins, then you can also double-click the Spin button twice in quick succession, or click the button while the reels are moving, in order to activate a Quickspin resolution to your spin.
Quickspin is a tool that is really beneficial for people who may only have a limited amount of time to play on a slot, so want to maximise the number of spins that they can play in that time. With it enabled, you can often play through 2x or even 3x as many spins in the same time as you would playing with a standard spin.
Does using Autoplay or Quickspin affect the outcome of my spin?
There are some people who believe that using either of these features can have an effect on the outcome of your spins. I have heard some slots players complain that they win less using Autoplay because 'the software knows you are going to play those spins, so makes you win less'. Similarly, with Quickspins, some people believe the software doesn't have chance to work through all the options open to your spin, so defaults to a losing spin for 'safety'.
This is all complete nonsense of course. Neither feature influences your chances of winning on any given spin and nor do they increase or decrease your chances of landing a Free Spins bonus, a Wild symbol or indeed the Jackpot Bonus Wheel on Atlantean Treasures. The only thing they can influence is how you interact with the game (or not) in the case of Autoplay, and how quickly each spin is resolved in respect to Quickspin.
Should I use Autoplay or Quickspin on the Atlantean Treasures slot?
Having understood that using either of these features won't affect the outcome of your spins, the question is whether you should use them when playing Atlantean Treasures or not.
My view here is that when you claim a bonus from the casino you might as well spend that money on a jackpot slot. If your bonus is one of special Mega Moolah offers of 80 or up to 200 spins then by all means play those bonus spins on Autoplay and/or use Quickspins. This way you can let the machine play those bonus spins while you get a feel for the game. Of course you can play Atlantean Treasures the standard way by tapping or clicking the mouse for each spin. And there is a good reason why I would advocate this, and it is simply down to how the game works and in particular, how it is set up.
On a standard slot game, you can win one way across the reels, from left to right, regardless of the number of pay lines in play. This means that if your first reel and second reel don't align up well (all the symbols are different and don't contain a Wild or Scatter), you know that it doesn't matter what happens with the third, fourth or fifth reels as you will not pick up a win.
However, Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah is a win both ways game. Which means you can win from right to left, as well as left to right across the reels. And that makes a massive difference to how you can win on each spin.
In Atlantean Treasures therefore, if your first two reels don't line up for a win, you could still win as you could end up with a favourable pattern on the third, fourth and fifth reels that will award you a win from right to left. Or, you could hit one of the Wilds which will trigger a free Respin of the other reels, even if does not initially create a win.
What I find is that I am much more engaged on each spin on win both ways slots as you have two chances to claim a win on each pay line. That makes each spin more exciting than on a slot where you can only win one way across the reel and it is that excitement that makes Atlantean Treasures such a fun slot to play.
Therefore, my advice regarding Autoplay and Quickspin on Atlantean Treasures is to go ahead and try these features but also play the standard way so you can find out which way you get the most enjoyment out of the game. If you are pressed for time Autoplay and Quickspin are a perfect match for that. If you need a coffee break or toilet break, just put it on Autoplay - it's actually exciting to come back to the laptop to see if the Jackpot Bonus game is waiting for your spin. Of course if you are playing on mobile you can take that mobile wherever you go. Whichever game mode you prefer, Autoplay is a nice feature to have and it's also a handy tool that players can use to manage their budgets.
