Wheel of Wishes slots fan lands a Major Jackpot win worth 263k in July 2020
The Wheel of Wishes slot, Microgaming's latest big money progressive jackpot slot which was released earlier in 2020, has not yet paid out its first Wowpot Jackpot win and as a result, that amount has climbed from its initial seed amount of 2 million, up to just under 5 million at the time of writing.
However, that is not to say that the slot has not been paying out some big money winners on its own Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus Game. While the biggest of the four jackpots may not have been won, there have been a number of winners of the next biggest jackpot prize, the Major jackpot, and one lucky player has just landed the latest win back on the 16th July. You can track all the Wheel of Wishes jackpot payouts at Wheelofwishes.net.
Wheel of Wishes Major Jackpot win - July 2020
The previous time the Major jackpot had been won came back in June with one player landing a prize of over 255k when playing the slot on the 8th June. Since then, the Major jackpot had been climbing from its seed amount of 50,000 and by July 16th, it had gone beyond the amount won by the last winner and reached over 263k.
It was at this point one lucky player playing the game triggered the Jackpot, claiming a total amount of 263,206.69. While we don't know what currency the jackpot was won in, we can rule out the winner being in British Pounds or Euro as the jackpot reset to just under 150,000, which means it is most likely to be a Canadian Dollar or New Zealand Dollar winner.
Although we are not quite sure whether the Major jackpot was won before the games official general release (the game had a limited release in a number of casinos prior to general release and we don't have official data on any jackpots won during this time), since we have been collecting data on the prize, this latest win in July is the fourth largest Major jackpot win on the Wheel of Wishes slot since the game began.

Of the 11 Major jackpot wins recorded, you can see that wins have ranged from small amounts just above the 50,000 seed amount, which mainly came in February and March, with a number of wins throughout the year that have been more evenly spaced out and which have seen wins ranging from 92k up to the maximum jackpot win on Wheel of Wishes at the minute of over 329k.
So far, there has been no Wowpot Jackpot winner on the Wheel of Wishes slot and this has allowed the jackpot to grow to almost 5 million. As this is a brand new game, we do not have any historical data on when to expect the Wowpot Jackpot to be won. It could be won tomorrow, or it could still be many weeks or even months before we see the first millionaire winner crowned on the Wheel of Wishes slot (although when it happens, you can be sure to read about it here).
In addition to the larger Wowpot and Major jackpots, the Wheel of Wishes slot has also been paying out plenty of Minor and Mini jackpot prizes, with several of these prizes being won each day on average with prizes ranging from just over 10.00 for the Mini jackpot to up to around 800 on the Minor jackpot prizes.
Why hasn't the Wowpot Jackpot been won yet?
There are two things that we don't know about the Wheel of Wishes slot that explain this and the first of these is that we do not know what the chances are of the Wowpot Jackpot being won. It may well be that this game is a 'slow burner'. What do I mean by that? Well, I mean a slot game that has a progressive jackpot fund that increases slowly but over a very long period of time until it is eventually won.
The other thing we don't know is just how many spins are being played on the slot, although judging by the amount of Mini and Minor jackpot winners, it is easy to surmise that it is going to be a fair few. In addition to this, we don't have any indicators of past performance for this jackpot, as it is a brand new game, so we cannot even hazard a guess as to when the game will eventually pay out.
It could pay out within the next five minutes, or in the next five days of five weeks. It could also be that it will be five months or even five years before we land a winner. Nobody knows for sure given the random nature of the jackpot award system.
Of course, the one positive about a jackpot not being won for players is that the value of that prize will increase markedly over that time. Whether this is enough to see the Wowpot Jackpot challenge Mega Moolah's top Mega Jackpot prize award (which stands at over CA$20 million) remains to be seen, but it is an intriguing prospect to muse about.
One thing is for sure, the only way to win the jackpot is to play spins on the slot and if you are doing that, then at least you are giving yourself every chance of landing a win of some kind.
Adding to big jackpot winners on the Microgaming Progressive Network
This latest winner on the Wheel of Wishes slot adds to the Major Millions winner we mentioned yesterday who pocketed a million-plus prize. Furthermore, with the King Cashalot slot at over a million and the Mega Moolah slot crashing the 11 million mark, there are still plenty of big cash prizes up for grabs on games part of the famous network.
