Which is better; iOs or Android when playing Mega Moolah on mobile?
There's no doubt that just as the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot slot from Microgaming has grown in popularity over the last few years, so has the number of people worldwide using their mobile devices to play the slot.
It seems strange to think that until relatively recently, to play slots online you would need to be sat at either a laptop or a desktop. Indeed, many of the older slot games were written in a language that wasn't compatible with mobile devices (which is why some of these games are still not available on mobiles today).
Nowadays of course, almost all slot games developed, certainly those by the more reputable companies, are written in the mobile-friendly language of HTML5, and this is giving mobile slots players an even wider choice of games to play and of course, that tends to mean we spend longer on our mobiles playing our favourite slots.
The Apple iOs v Android Debate
For a long time, there has been a debate raging between two particular types of mobile phone users and this is best categorised as the iOs v Android debate. There are those that claim that Apple devices, which are simple to set up, highly intuitive and generally robust and easy to use have the edge over Android devices which they claim to be slower, less powerful and less intuitive to use.
On the flip-side of that, Android devices are much cheaper and now almost of the quality of Apple devices, so you get much more for your money. They cite Google store's decision to allow a greater diversity of apps than the App Store as evidence that they have a far broader choice of apps to download and play and of course, there are far more devices that have Android installed on them than there are those with iOS.
Rather like the PlayStation4 v Xbox One Console debate, the two groups have their fans and you are unlikely to get an unbiased answer from anyone in either camp as to which of the two mobile options are the best.
So in this article, we are going to take a look at both of these types of phones, some of the options available to you for each and then we are going to look at the pros and cons of using each with one of the top modern mobile slots of today, the Microgaming classic progressive Mega Moolah.
Hopefully by the end of that, we will get a better understanding of which of the two devices is the one to pick if you want to use your mobile, at least part of the time, for slot gaming.

Pros of Apple Handsets
For me the biggest benefit of an Apple handset is that it is so intuitive that almost anybody can pick one up for the first time, set it up in an instant and then be able to use the device rapidly. This and the rapid response rate on Apple devices means that it is a less frustrating device to use than certainly earlier model Android devices.
Another positive is that Apple devices tend to have better longevity than Android devices, which can slot down and lose performance over time much more quickly. That said, Apple's battery life can be an issue once your handset can get a couple of years old, whereas Android devices tend to not suffer this issue as much.
The fact that the App Store also stringently controls the apps it releases means that there are no Mega Moolah apps in there because there's no official app. The Mega Moolah game has been developed in HTML5, which means players simply enter MegaMoolah.com in their mobile Safari or Firefox browser to find the best offers and play the game.
Cons of Apple Handsets
One of the main down sides of Apple devices is that they are considerably more expensive than their Android counterparts and in truth, it can be a bit hard to justify where that extra money goes. Having said that the iPhone device is of higher quality than any Android in the market.
We have already mentioned the issues with battery life shortening over time on Apple handsets and there is also the fact that Apple tend to introduce at least one new iPhone a year, so your device is only the 'newest' on the block for a short period of time, which may annoy some users.
All in all, the modern Android and Apple handsets and devices are more than capable of running high quality slots like Mega Moolah and in truth, you can't go wrong if you pick any of the devices listed here as each will give you a great experience playing the game. It's down to your budget and your own personal preference as to which is the best one to use.

Pros of Android Handsets
Android handsets have improved a long way from the clunky, slow and somewhat unresponsive devices of the early days of the operating system. These newer handsets have been designed to be at least as good as the equivalent iPhone and in the main, some of top handsets achieve that aim.
Android handsets are usually much cheaper than iPhone or iPad equivalents but their internal architecture is on a par with what you can find in the guts in your Apple device, which means you will get a performance akin to that on an Apple device. Furthermore, there's a far wider range of apps available in the Google Play than you would find in the App Store, where things are far more controlled. Having said that it's very easy to launch an app in Google Play, which means the quality of the apps can be "imperfect" at times.
One very important thing to note is that Google have relaxed their controls on apps linked to gambling, so you can now find apps linked to sports betting, poker and casino gaming on Google Play, which was not the case a few years ago. Most of these apps are questionable to say the least and we do not recommend installing any apps that are not 'official' apps.
Cons of Android Handsets
For me there are just two issues with Android devices when it comes to Mega Moolah and the first is to do with security. There are some apps in Google Play that purport to offer a chance to play Mega Moolah, however these are fake apps and have nothing to do with Mega Moolah. Back in 2012 Microgaming developed the Mega Moolah game in HTML5 so that it can be played straight from your mobile's browser with no third-party app required to access it.
While we can't be sure of the intentions of the companies that developed these apps there is an obvious possibility that less scrupulous companies use these apps to harvest your personal data, photo's, contacts, etc, so I strongly would always advise not to use them.
The second issue concerns lower end Android devices, which I feel don't age as well or last as well as Apple handsets, and which I think offer players an inferior experience as they are slower to respond, more likely to develop errors and not quite as intuitive to use. However the high end devices, as listed in this article, do not share these issues and are certainly a match to the iPhone.
Whichever device you prefer, or your budget allows, you only need to open the browser and type in megamoolah.com to find the best available deals to play Mega Moolah on mobile.
