It is worth noting that previous releases for Mega Moolah-powered games have been compatible with some of the great value starter bonus deals that you can get for Mega Moolah. We first learned about the release of the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot back in February, when Microgaming featured a preview of the game at its stand at the ICE 2020 event in London. With two other progressive jackpot games linked to the Wheel of Wishes slot set to be released later in the year too, it is clear that the company is ready to give its progressive jackpot selection of games a radical overhaul.
It is fair to say that Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah is different to all the previous Mega Moolah releases in some ways, and yet in others it echoes aspects of some of the earlier games in the network.
Some of the similarities are that you can still play the game in a number of different currencies, such as the dollars, euros and of course, the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot uses the British Pound as its baseline currency. As with other games, if you win a jackpot prize in a currency other than British pounds, then the value of your win in British Pounds will be deducted from the total jackpot prize and what remains in the pot will go towards the next jackpot in the game.
It is also fair to say that Mega Moolah is developing its own look and along with Mega Vault Millionaire, Atlantean Treasures and the original Mega Moolah slot, the new Absolootly Mad slot fits nicely into this niche. You can tell as soon as the game loads up that this is a Mega Moolah slot.
Additionally, the Jackpot Bonus Feature, the part of the Absolootly Mad slot that can see you win one of the four progressive jackpot prizes available in the game (Mini, Minor, Major or Mega) harks back to the original Jackpot Bonus Feature on the original Mega Moolah slot as it is a simple spin the wheel bonus feature which will see you win one of the four jackpot prizes.
As is customary with all Mega Moolah games, the more you bet on a spin, the more your chances of triggering a shot at the Jackpot Bonus wheel increases. Furthermore, your chances of winning the Mega Moolah jackpots are the same on the new game as they are on any of the older slots.
However, in other ways the Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah slot is very different to other games that are part of the network too. First off, you can play this game from 0.20 per spin. That is 0.05 less than the original Mega Moolah or Mega Vault Millionaire, but it is more than what you would pay for a minimum bet spin on Atlantean Treasures (which is 0.10).
The biggest difference though is in how the game is set up. While the Absolootly Mad slot is a standard 5x3 reel game, as are the other big Mega Moolah slot games, one big difference is that rather than using pay lines, Absolootly Mad is the first Mega Moolah-powered slot to offer 243 Ways to Win across the reels.
Don't be fooled into thinking that this means the base game on Absolootly Mad will be throwing money at you. This is still a higher variance slot, but the set up of the game means that alongside those lower value wins, some higher value wins are possible and that is thanks chiefly to the two main bonus features of the slot. The Rolling Reels (and Multiplier Trail) feature and the Free Spins bonus game.
Another first for Absolootly Mad is that it is the first Mega Moolah slot to offer Rolling Reels as a game-play feature. This is when the symbols that form part of a win will disappear from the screen after they have paid out the player and then symbols from above will drop down into their place to fill any blank spaces on the reels. This can then trigger further wins from the same spin.
In addition to the Rolling Reels feature, there is also a Multiplier Trail that kicks on on the first win in a Rolling Reels sequence. For each successive Rolling Reels win you land, the Trail will move up one increasing the value of the Multiplier, in the base game, from 1x, to 2x, to 3x and then to 5x.
The other key feature of the slot is the Free Spins bonus round, which is triggered when you land three of the wooden door Scatter symbols on the reels, although you can substitute a Wild in for one or more of the Scatters if you are fortunate enough to land them together on the reels.
When you trigger the bonus, you receive 8 Free Spins, which can be re-triggered in the bonus round as you triggered them in the base game. For the bonus round though, the Multiplier Trail is increased in value by 3x the standard amount (which means Rolling Reels wins will pay out with multipliers of 3x to 15x the standard win).
The key to unlocking a shot at the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot prizes however is the Mad Hatters Gold Coin, which serves as the Wild symbol in the game. The Wild can substitute for standard symbols and Scatter symbols, but it only appears on the middle three reels of the slot.
Each time you land a Wild symbol, it is collected and added to the Golden Teapot which is displayed at the top of the reels. This continues until you trigger a win using a Wild and then this triggers the Rolling Reels feature. As you progress through the Rolling Reels feature, any Wilds you land are added to the Golden Teapoit and at the end of the feature, you stand a chance of triggering a shot at the Jackpot Bonus game. The more coins you have collected in the teapot at this point, and the more you are betting per spin, then the more chance you have of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game.
If you do trigger the Jackpot Bonus game, then a rather familiar looking wheel will appear and you get to spin the reel in order to win one of the four progressive jackpot prizes on offer in the game

One thing to note with the Absolootly Mad slot is that the prizes on offer in the base game and Free Spins round are generally small, especially for three and four symbol combinations. However, you can trigger multiple combinations on a single spin and the Rolling Reels feature can take even a modest initial win and transform it into a much larger win.
