Sisters of Oz Wowpot Progressive

Barely a few days after the release of the second slot in the Wowpot progressive jackpot network, Book of Atem Wowpot, we saw the third slot in that network hit casinos, the eagerly awaited Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot. Designed by Triple Edge Studios, this is the latest game in the series to offer you a chance at that magnificent 2 million seeded Wowpot progressive jackpot prize.

Linked to the Book of Oz series of slots, also by Triple Edge Studios, which are based loosely on the famous Wizard of Oz story, unlike the Book of Atem Wowpot slot which had a standard version of the game released beforehand into casinos, the Sisters of Oz Wowpot was released at the same time as a standard Jackpot version of the game, which featured four fixed-value jackpot prizes of between 15x and 1000x your bet, instead of the progressive jackpot prizes.

It is going to be interesting to see how well that version of the game does as having played both versions, it is very easy to attest as to which of them is the most exciting to play and it is definitely the progressive jackpot version of the game, simply because the prizes on offer are so much higher, for the same price per spin.

As the new third part of the Wowpot progressive series of slots, Sisters of Oz Wowpot offer you a chance to win any of the four Wowpot progressive jackpot prizes including the two smaller prizes, Mini (seeded at 10.00) and Minor (seeded at 100.00) as well as the two much larger prize pools the Major (seeded at 50,000) and the huge Wowpot progressive jackpot (seeded at 2 million).

With specific reference to this last massive jackpot prize, you can see how the Wowpot progressive jackpot has increased over time in the graph below.

As we have mentioned previously, the Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot is the third game in the Wowpot progressive network and it is fair to say that it is far more similar to the Book of Atem Wowpot game, than the original Wheel of Wishes slot. We will explore more about this when we take a closer look at the game below, after we have had a look at some of the recent Wowpot progressive jackpots that have been claimed.

Displayed above is a chart showing the top progressive jackpot prize from the Wowpot series of slot games, which includes including Sisters of Oz, Book of Atem and the original Wheel of Wishes slot.

As part of the Wowpot network, the Sisters of Oz Wowpot jackpots are all based on a base currency of the British Pound. There is a good reason for this as it means that if a jackpot is won in another currency, such as the Canadian Dollar or New Zealand Dollar for example, there is usually enough money in the fund to cover that award and then still enough left in the pot to count towards the next jackpot prize significantly.

Alongside the four progressive jackpot prizes we outlined above to be won, there are also a host of other prizes you can win in the Sisters of Oz Wowpot base game and bonus features, so let us learn a little more about the game and how it is set up for players.

The first thing to note is that the Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot is a 5x4 slot game that has 20 pay lines in play, that is double the amount you have in Book of Atem Wowpot and as a result, the minimum bet is also double the amount at 0.20 per spin, with the maximum bet 25.00. The game is set up to be a more medium volatility slot, which means a nice balance of wins throughout the base game and especially during the main bonus features of the slot.

In terms of the jackpot, you can win up to 720x your bet in the main game of the progressive jackpot version of the game, although of course, you do get a chance at the progressive jackpot prizes, the top two of which dwarf any of the prizes you can land in the standard game.

The game is based loosely on a Wizard of Oz theme and has been designed in the style of the Book of Oz slots that have preceded it, however you won't find Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion on the reels, but instead four bewitching sisters, who have been brought to life very well by Triple Edge Studios. However, Wizard fans will be delighted to see that the Yellow Brick Road does play a role in the slot as it is the main feature of the backdrop.

Symbols on the reels start with the five lower value symbols, which are the different coloured potions. Wins on these symbols are generally small and range from 0.2x to 1.5x your bet, however symbols are stacked, so you can win across multiple pay lines, which is how you can land some of the better value wins in the game.

The higher value symbols on the reels are the four Sisters of Oz and each is dressed in a different colour to make them easy to distinguish. These symbols can be two, three or four symbols high across the reels too and of course, landing as many as you can across the reels gives you a better chance of a win. Wins start at 0.25x your bet and increase up to 18x your bet on a single pay line.

One fine feature of the base game in the Sisters of Oz slot is the Jumbo Symbol trigger which can occur at random on any base game spin and when it does, you will see super-sized jumbo symbols of the four Sisters of Oz on the middle three reels. If you can land one of these symbols in full, or even in part, on the reels together with the same symbol either side on the first and fifth reels, this is how you can land the sizeable wins on offer in the game.

Like in the Book of Atem slot, the Wild symbol in Sisters of Oz also plays a triple role in the game. It acts initially as a Wild symbol, substituting for the standard symbols in the game to help create wins on the reels, especially when used in conjunction with those jumbo-sized symbols.

However, it can also be used as the Scatter symbol in the game and if you can land three, four or five of the Wild Scatter symbols on the reels on the Sisters of Oz slot, then you will trigger the Free Spins bonus game with 5, 7 or 10 Free Spins awarded respectively based on how many Wild Scatters you land in the triggering spin.

The big bonus of triggering Free Spins is the fact that on each spin the Jumbo Block feature is in play on every spin and that every win you land during the Free Spins bonus round is automatically double the standard amount. In addition, if you can land two Scatters on the reel during the Free Spins bonus round then you will receive an additional three spins added to your total, which is a great way to extend the bonus round a little longer.

Of course, one of the key features of the Sisters of Oz Wowpot slot is how you can trigger a shot at the four progressive jackpot prizes on offer and in that respect, this slot follows the trend set by slots like Book of Atem and the Mega Moolah slot Atlantean Treasures, than it does the original Wowpot game, Wheel of Wishes.

Triggering the Jackpot Bonus Game in Sisters of Oz Wowpot

In the original Wowpot progressive slot, Wheel of Wishes, the Jackpot Bonus Game was triggered by landing a Power Spin in the base game (or playing Power Spins for 10x your standard bet amount) and then hitting the jumbo-sized Scatter symbol in full on the middle three reels. Well in the Sisters of Oz slot, despite their being Jumbo Symbols in this game too, it is a totally different trigger mechanism for the bonus.

The trigger is based on overlaid Progressive Jackpot symbols, which can appear on the reels on any of the lower value potion symbols in the game. Collect these symbols and each time you collect one on a spin, you land a chance of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game. The more you land on a spin and in a session, then the more chances you have of triggering a shot at one of the four progressive jackpot prizes.

Your progress in collecting these symbols is recorded and you will see the coins in the cauldron underneath the listed progressives on the left hand side of the reels increase as you land more of these symbols as you play through the slot.

Once you do trigger the Jackpot Bonus game, you are taken to a separate screen where you will spin a wheel with different colour sectors on. In Sisters of Oz Wowpot, the Mini jackpot is coloured blue, the Minor is purple, Major is green and the Wowpot jackpot is the single red sector. You simply spin the wheel and whatever colour sector the pointer lands on, is the prize you win.

Sisters of Oz Wowpot is a very nice 'middle ground' slot as it shares some of the features of the Wheel of Wishes slot, in terms of those Jumbo symbols in particular, but also has a number of similarities, not least in the Jackpot Bonus Game, with the Book of Atem Wowpot too. It is a very worthy addition to the Wowpot network, and I have no doubt that it will prove especially popular with fans.
